Last weekend I went on an eco-travel with a travel agency. All the way we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and fresh air. But a few of us picked flowers as while going sightseeing. Population officials and demographers have much to worry about China’s increasingly aging population. It is estimated that the proportion of people aged 60 or older in China will rise to 11.8 percent in 2020. Personally, I believe that cigarette production and consumption threatens to do more harm than good. According to the survey, tobacco consumers account for about 20% of the world population, and among them, three million people die from smoking-related diseases every year. In conclusion, as the economic development aims at making our life better, we cannot sacrifice our health for short-term financial benefits. It is high time that we fought for the total tobacco ban.

库巴唐”死亡谷”事件

巴西圣保罗以南60公里的库巴唐市，二十世纪八十年代以“死亡之谷“知名于世。该市位于山谷之中，六十年代引进炼油、石化、炼铁等外资企业300多家，人口剧增至15万，成为圣保罗的工业卫星城。企业主只顾赚钱，随意排放废气废水，谷地浓烟弥漫、臭水横流，有20%的人得了呼吸道过敏症，医院挤满了接受吸氧治疗的儿童和老人，使2万多贫民窟居民严重受害。

卡迪兹号油轮事件
