星期五下午，我们进行了第五届“英华少年杯”讲故事比赛。

我们满怀信心的期待着！讲故事比赛终于开始了！我们班的曲姿谕和王浩然代表我们班去参加比赛，曲姿谕是第25个，王浩然是第11个，曲姿谕讲的是《注视的眼睛》，王浩然讲的是《岳飞刺字——精忠报国》。我们五年级一共有28个人讲故事。终于到王浩然了！王浩然一上台，气势高大，开始讲了！王浩然最后的得分是9。64分。

给我留下印象最深的是五（7）班杨云涵讲的《三袋米的故事》。这个故事呢，主要讲的是：“我”的妈妈让我考上重点大学，然而那个学校每个月初都要给学校送一袋米，“我”们家里很穷，没有钱去买米，“我”的妈妈更没有力气去耕田。妈妈每次去给米库的熊师傅送米，第一次妈妈带的米被熊师傅留了下来，第二次妈妈带的迷也被留了下来，到了第三次，熊师傅告诉妈妈：“你这次怎么还是杂碎米？”妈妈哭着说道：“因为我们家穷，每天我都是早晨早早得起来去村的外讨米，到天黑很晚我才回家。熊师傅也被感动了。

我也被这个故事深深地所感动。杨云涵是讲故事的第一名。

放暑假了，我可丝毫没有放松自己的学习，报名参加了“湖北省第十二届青少年儿童英语比赛”。这个赛事对我可不陌生，在我上幼儿园时就参加过两届。虽然当时在幼儿组，我获得过一等奖的好成绩，但现在，我是小学生了，比赛的要求更高，增加了听力测试，我还能行我去参赛为此，我参加了短期赛前培训。

Humor is a flavor of our lives. Humor can soften relationship between

people; humor can adjust the atmosphere of different occasions; humor can bring

more fun and joy to our lives.

First, humor is very necessary in communicating with others because it can

soften relationship between people. In the process of getting along with others,

the occurrence of difference and contradiction is inevitable. Sometimes, when we

want to persuade others to agree with our points, we will find that our points

are easier to be accepted if we argue in a humorous tone.

Second, humor can adjust the atmosphere of different occasions. A person

having a good sense of humor is good at adjust the atmosphere. For example, in a

family, if the husband has a good sense humor, their family life would be more

harmonious because he can adjust the atmosphere in time to avoid the occurrence

The bulging belly fox

A hungry Fox found in a hollow tree a quantity of bread and meat, which some shepherds had placed there against their return. I like to see American TV series so much, because not only the plot

attracts me so much, but also I can learn the English spoken language. Recently,

I fall in love with Two Broke Girls, it is so funny and makes me laugh happily.

Besides the humorous plot, I am also inspired by the characters’ spirit. Though

the two girls are poor and work as the waitress in the small restaurant, they

never give up their dreams. They make the plans for their dreams, even they meet

all kinds of difficulties, they are still positive about their future. I learn

things from them, I keep the positive attitude towards life.

Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

主持人陈伊上场了，只见他拿起话筒，扯了扯嗓子为大家拉开了比赛的序幕。一号选手林铷铷上场了，她绘声绘色的讲起了自己搜集到的一则小故事，同学们听得很入迷，偶尔几个小声音传出来，也很快消失了。可她好像没什么底气，灰溜溜地回到了座位。此时的我已无暇细细品味了，呆会儿就该我上了。

主持人报到了我的名字，我从容地上了台，可谁又知道这时的我已经全身紧绷到极致了。我有声有色的讲着我找到的朱启南的故事，台下的“评委”——同学们，一声不发，我的心像是揣了只兔子砰砰的跳着。进行着内心的独白。台下响起了热烈的掌声，我慢慢平静下心中的紧张，在掌声的护拥下我结束了故事，回到自己的座位，还沉浸在比赛的氛围中，我急忙问同桌自己表现如何，陈佳慧露出酒窝：“你讲的很有感情，我的听入迷了。”听到这话，我的心稍微松了下来。不过下面的选手还不知道水平如何呢？我悬着心，细细听着他们的故事。

到了最紧张的时刻了，评委们改使出自己的选择权了，前两名同学可是能参加学校里的比赛，我一遍一遍的给自己加油打气，可不能自己给自己认输了喽！因为这次实行的无记名投票，自然少不了督票员、读票员和计票员了，读票员一遍遍的报出评委们的选择，很快我已经占领了十票。照这个势头发展下去，去参加比赛我是八九不离十了，可以想不到的事情发生了，陈伊、吕浩轩马上追平了我，人群沸腾了，顿时加油声、呐喊声炸成了一锅，我心里也打起了小算盘：陈伊是我们班班长，平时人缘挺好的，而吕浩轩是唯一的男选手，班上的男同学肯定都投他。可我又拿什么和人家比呢？关键的时候到了，现在读票员手里还有两票，陈伊、吕浩轩和我比分悬殊，谁拿了两票，就是最后的赢家，吕浩轩的呼声更高了，男同学们集体为吕浩轩加油，这是我默默打响了退堂鼓。奇迹发生了，最后两票居然是我的。我的心中向那雨后彩虹一样惊喜又快乐，尽管很多人对我发出了藐视，可我已经不屑于这些事物了。我呆在座位上，刚才的惊喜已经超出了我所容纳的范围，只能点滴消化，因为陈伊和吕浩轩分数持平，只能明天在对他们两个进行一场加时赛了。

鲁冰冰的学习成绩一直名列前矛，老师也很喜欢她。推荐她的原因就是，老师认为她的文笔挺好，说起话来流利、通畅，语句优美，所以就选她了。

鲁皮皮是班里的调皮大王，同学们还挺喜欢他呢!他是全班50人一致赞同，才推荐他的。下课时，同学们总能听到鲁皮皮的长篇大论，什么国家第一任总统是谁了?为什么当总统等，这些他总能侃侃而谈。有时，老师让他们讨论问题，鲁皮皮每次都能滔滔不绝的讲着。当他看到一些有趣的童话时，就在学校找时间讲。他坐在桌上，

I sat there and wondered how he managed to see a self-pitying woman beneath an old willow tree. How did he know of my self-indulged plight? Perhaps from his heart, he‘d been blessed with true sight.

Through the eyes of a blind child, at last I could see, the problem was not with the world; the problem was me. And for all of those times I myself had been blind, I vowed to see beauty, and appreciate every second that‘s mine.

And then I held that wilted flower up to my nose and breathed in the fragrance of a beautiful rose And smiled as that young boy, another weed in his hand About to change the life of an unsuspecting old man.

Lion was awakened from sleep by a Mouse running over his face. Rising up in anger, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the Mouse piteously entreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." The Lion laughed and let him go.

一只老鼠从一只狮子面前跑过去，将它从梦中吵醒。狮子生气地跳起来，捉住老鼠，要弄死它。老鼠哀求说：「只要你肯饶恕我这条小生命，我将来一定会报答你的大恩。」狮子便笑着放了它。

后来狮子被几个猎人捉住，用粗绳捆绑倒在地上。老鼠听出是狮子的吼声，走来用牙齿咬断绳索，释放了它，并大声说：「你当时嘲笑我想帮你的忙，而且也不指望我有什么机会报答。但是你现在知道了，就算是小老鼠，也能向狮子效劳的。」

战国时代，有一个叫公明仪的音乐家，他能作曲也能演奏，七弦琴弹得非常好，弹的曲子优美动听，很多人都喜欢听他弹琴，人们很敬重他。

有一年的春天，他带着琴来到城郊的田野散步，和煦的春风将青草的芳香吹到他的面前，让他心情非常舒畅。他环顾四周，发现不远处有一头大公牛正在吃草。他兴致勃发，突发奇想要为这头公牛演奏一曲，于是他拨动琴弦，对着这头公牛弹奏了一首高雅的《清角之操曲》。

虽然公明仪弹奏的曲子非常悦耳动听，但是那头吃草的牛儿却根本不理会那高雅的曲调，仍然低着头继续吃草。因为公牛虽然能听到琴弦发出的声音，但是并不能理解曲子中的美妙意境。

公明仪见美妙的琴声并不能打动这头不懂音乐的牛，非常无奈。过了一会儿，他又想出了一个办法。公明仪抚动琴弦，弹出一段段奇怪杂乱的声音，有的像嗡嗡的蚊蝇声，有的像迷路的小牛犊发出的叫声。这时候这头大公牛才像突然明白了什么似的，摇摇尾巴，竖起耳朵，听了起来。

对牛弹琴的启示：说话不看对象是不可取的，对蠢人讲道理也是不可取的。

中国现代着名学者胡适是属兔子的，他的夫人江冬秀是属老虎的，胡适常开玩笑说：“兔子怕老虎。”当时就流传了胡适怕老婆的笑话。

有一次，巴黎的朋友寄给胡适十几个法国的古铜币，因钱有“PTT”三个宇母，读起来谐音正巧为怕太太。胡适与几个怕太太的朋友开玩笑说：“如果成立一个怕太太协会，这些铜币正好用来做会员的证章。”

胡适经常到大学里去讲演。有一次，在某大学，讲演中他常引用

孔子、孟子、孙中山先生的话。引用时，他就在黑板上写：

“孔说”，“孟说”，“孙说”。

最后，他发现自己的意见时，竟引起了哄堂大笑，原来他写的是：

“胡说”。

In the Warring States Period, a man in the state of Chu was offering a sacrifice to his ancestors. After the ceremony, the man gave a beaker of wine to his servants. The servants thought that there was not enought wine for all of them, and decided to each draw a piecture of snake; the one who finished the piecture first would get the wine. One of them drew very rapidly. Seeing that the others were still busy drawing, he added feet to the snake. At this moment, another man finished, snatched the beaker and drank the wine, saying,"A snake doesnt have feet. How can you add feet to a snake?"

This idiom refers to ruining a venture by doing unnecessary and surplus things.

一个年老的印度大师对总是抱怨的弟子感到厌倦了。有一天，他派他的弟子去买盐。弟子回来后，大师吩咐这个不快活的年轻人抓一把盐放在一杯水中，然后喝了它。

“味道如何?”大师问。

“苦。”弟子吐了口吐沫。

大师又吩咐年轻人抓一把盐放进附近的湖里。弟子于是把盐倒进湖里，老者说：“再尝尝湖水。”

年轻人捧了一口湖水尝了尝。大师问道：“什么味道?”

“很新鲜。”弟子答道。

“你尝到咸味了吗?”大师问。

“没有。”年轻人答道。

这时大师对弟子说道：“生命中的痛苦就象是盐；不多，也不少。我们在生活中遇到的痛苦就这么多。但是，我们体验到的痛苦却取决于我们将它盛放在多大的容器中。”

所以，当你处于痛苦时，你只要开阔你的胸怀……

不要做一只杯子，而要做一个湖泊。
