今天，我们下午去了五楼报告厅，看了讲故事比赛，一共有28位选手。

开始讲故事了，一号选手讲得非常的生动，简直就像和真的发生了这件事一样！讲完以后，二号选手就登场了，和一号选手将的都很好，都感情充沛……一直到了十几号选手，我们班的一位选手——王浩然就登场了，王浩然讲的是《岳飞》这个故事，王浩然的声音非常响亮，非常的有精神，里面的主要内容是岳飞要金忠报国，上前线杀敌的原因。后来，一直到了二十几号选手，就到了我们班的另一位选手——曲姿愈，她讲的是《注释的眼睛》，里面讲的是一位妇女得到了一位老人的宽容。又有五六位选手讲了故事后，比赛就结束了。

比赛终于结束了，排完名次后，我知道了已经过去了三节副课了，有微机课、音乐课和课外活动课。我今天又高兴又不高兴。

“丁冬 ……丁冬……”一阵清脆的门铃声吵醒了鲁皮皮，原来是爸爸妈妈和鲁冰冰从外面回来了，鲁皮皮心想：多美的一个梦啊!鲁冰冰拍了拍哥哥的头说：“哥，找到故事比赛的内容了吗?”鲁皮皮眼珠一转，说：“找到了!” 到底是什么呢?告诉大家吧，就是他自己做的美梦讲给大家听。

摸到大象尾巴的盲人说：“大王，大象应该像一把扫帚。”摸到大象腹部的盲人说：“大王，大象确实像大鼓。”随后，摸到大象头部的说大象像大勺子，摸到大象牙的说大象像牛角，摸到大象尾巴后部的说大象像棍杖，摸到大象耳朵的则说大象犹如簸箕。

最后，摸到大象鼻子的盲人说：“圣明的大王，大象实在像一根粗绳索。”

一群盲人分成了几伙，吵吵嚷嚷，争论不休，都说自己正确而别人说的不对。他们又纷纷到镜面王前争辩说：“大王！大象的模样确实像我说的那样！”这时，在场的臣民见此都大笑不止，镜面王也意味深长地看着众人笑了起来。

In the Warring States Period, a man in the state of Chu was offering a sacrifice to his ancestors. After the ceremony, the man gave a beaker of wine to his servants. The servants thought that there was not enought wine for all of them, and decided to each draw a piecture of snake; the one who finished the piecture first would get the wine. One of them drew very rapidly. Seeing that the others were still busy drawing, he added feet to the snake. At this moment, another man finished, snatched the beaker and drank the wine, saying,"A snake doesnt have feet. How can you add feet to a snake?"

This idiom refers to ruining a venture by doing unnecessary and surplus things.

一只小象出门旅行，在路上碰到了同样旅行的小猪。小象看着小猪，忍不住哈哈大笑着说：你的鼻子那么短，真是太好笑了，太差劲了，哈哈。小猪反驳道：笑个P啊，你鼻子那么长，就象脸上长个J8似的，还笑呢。两个小家伙互相嘲笑着前行，继续他们的旅行路程。他们来到了一颗苹果树前，又红又大的苹果挂满了树冠膨大的苹果树。两只小家伙不禁口水横流，垂涎三尺。小象来到树下，用他的长鼻子轻松地将苹果击落下来。于是两只小家伙开开心心地吃起来。小猪边吃边说：原来你的鼻子也不是那么讨厌嘛，嘿嘿。吃完苹果，他们继续前行。走着走着，他们来到了一块番薯地。小猪说：看我的。说完，小猪用他的鼻子去拱地，拱啊拱啊，把埋在地下的番薯都拱了出来。于是两只小家伙开开心心地吃起来。小象边吃边说：原来你的鼻子也不是那么差劲嘛，哈哈。

The Father and His Son

Father had a family of sons who were perpetually quarrelling among themselves. When he failed to heal their disputes by his exhortations, he determined to give them a practical illustration of the evils of disunion; and for this purpose he one day told them to bring him a bundle of sticks. When they had done so, he placed the faggot into the hands of each of them in succession, and ordered them to break it in pieces. They each tried with all their strength, and were not able to do it.

He next unclosed the faggot, and took the sticks separately, one by one, and again put them into their hands, on which they broke them easily. He then addressed them in these words: "My sons, if you are of one mind, and unite to assist each other, you will be as this faggot, uninjured by all the attempts of your enemies; but if you are divided among yourselves, you will be broken as easily as these sticks."

一位父亲有几个孩子，这些孩子时常发生口角。他丝毫没有办法来劝阻他们，只好让他们看看不合群所带来害处的例子。为了达到这个目的，有一天他叫他们替他拿一捆细柴来。当他们把柴带来时，他便先后地将那捆柴放在每一个孩子的手中，吩咐他们弄断这捆柴。他们一个个尽力去试，总是不能成功。

然后他解开那捆柴，一根根地放在他们手里，如此一来，他们便毫不费力地折断了。于是他就告诉他们说：「孩子们!如果你们大家团结一致，互相帮助，你们就像这捆柴一样，不能被你们的敌人折断;但如果你们自行，你们就将和这些散柴一般，不堪一折了。
