This choked the emperor off. The emperor suddenly Changed his countenance and declared the meeting over. All the civilian and military officers at court were breathless with anxiety for fear that Ji An might bring disaster upon himself because of this. After returning, Emperor Wudi said to the people around him that Ji An was a little too rude and too straightforward.

For this reason ,Ji An was never promoted again. When he was the commander in charge of the appointment and dismissal of the local officials, both Gongsun Hong and Zhang Tang were low -ranking lfficials of little importance. Later ,they were promoted continuously. Gongsun Hong became the prime minister and Zhang Tang became the imperial censor. However, JiAns post remained thesame. One day, Ji An said to Emperor Wudi that the way the emperor used his ministers was just like piling up firewood, which meant that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers. Of course, Emperor Wudi could see that Ji An was complaining. So,turning to his ministers, Emperor Wudi said, "It is true that no one can stop learning.You see, Ji An is making more and more indiscreet remarks."

This story comes from The Historical Records. Later generations use the set phrase "the latecomers surpass the old-timers " to indicate that successors can cxcel the predecessors, which is quite different from the original idea when Ji An said that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers.

今天下午，我们早早地来到学校里，因为要举行讲故事比赛。这次我们班有三个同学参加比赛。我激动极了，真想听听大家讲的都是什么有趣的故事！

到了六楼的比赛大厅，我们按顺序坐好，等待着比赛开始。比赛快要开始了，大家都紧张得不会呼吸了，整个大厅里鸦雀无声。

轮到我们的同学丁星妤上台了。丁星妤化了浓浓的妆，橘红色的眼影，造型都快让我认不出她了。但是她一脸镇定，丝毫没有紧张，我真佩服她呀！她给我们讲了一个《驼背小龙虾》。她一开口讲，我就被深深地迷住了。随着她绘声绘色的讲述，我的眼前浮现出了一只活灵活现的小龙虾，它有灵活的八条腿，整天喜欢嘲笑别人。有一次它遇见了一只大海螺，整天嘲笑大海螺，终于受到了很大的教训，变成了一只驼背小龙虾。我看了看旁边的同学，大家都听得入迷了，都痴痴地看着她。

她讲述得太精彩了！她一定会赢的！

过了一会儿，比赛终于结束了。我的屁股都坐痛了，但是我觉得屁股痛还是值得的，我听了这么多有趣的故事！

前段时间，单位有位大姐拿着一个英语句子问我语法。我非常好奇，一个已经到了中年的妇女居然还在不断学习英语!她说自己坚持学习有6年了，到现在有一万多的词汇量，刚开始的英语底子就是26个英文字母。在日本留学的儿子告诉她，新概念是非常好的教材，他就开始自学新概念，新概念英语读的朗朗上口。我在她办公室桌上看有本新概念英语四，随手拿起来一看，上面密密麻麻全是注释，音标、词义、语法等等写的非常详细，她把新概念的每一个句子都详细的分析过!她说自己学习英语主要是工作以外的时间，办公室有活儿了就抓紧时间把工作做完，因为没有上网、玩游戏的爱好，工作之外的时间就用学英语来“打发”，办公室里有电脑，所以有时也会跟着录音读。

我问她为什么都到中年了还要坚持学外语呢，她回答的很有意思——以后要是当奶奶了，不想让孙子看到自己的奶奶啥都不懂。

一位中年妇女没有任何英语底子，居然可以不为过级，不为升学，毫无功利心的学习英语，年轻的我们会有何感想?大学的时候诵读《道德经》，老子的无为思想我至今无法理解，后来我想这种精心耕耘，不问收获，毫无功利心的去做一件事儿，是不是就是对道家无为思想的一种解释?年轻的我们又该如何?这或许正是她给予我们年轻人的力量和意义!

星期五下午，我们进行了第五届“英华少年杯”讲故事比赛。

我们满怀信心的期待着！讲故事比赛终于开始了！我们班的曲姿谕和王浩然代表我们班去参加比赛，曲姿谕是第25个，王浩然是第11个，曲姿谕讲的是《注视的眼睛》，王浩然讲的是《岳飞刺字——精忠报国》。我们五年级一共有28个人讲故事。终于到王浩然了！王浩然一上台，气势高大，开始讲了！王浩然最后的得分是9。64分。

给我留下印象最深的是五（7）班杨云涵讲的《三袋米的故事》。这个故事呢，主要讲的是：“我”的妈妈让我考上重点大学，然而那个学校每个月初都要给学校送一袋米，“我”们家里很穷，没有钱去买米，“我”的妈妈更没有力气去耕田。妈妈每次去给米库的熊师傅送米，第一次妈妈带的米被熊师傅留了下来，第二次妈妈带的迷也被留了下来，到了第三次，熊师傅告诉妈妈：“你这次怎么还是杂碎米？”妈妈哭着说道：“因为我们家穷，每天我都是早晨早早得起来去村的外讨米，到天黑很晚我才回家。熊师傅也被感动了。

我也被这个故事深深地所感动。杨云涵是讲故事的第一名。

中国现代着名学者胡适是属兔子的，他的夫人江冬秀是属老虎的，胡适常开玩笑说：“兔子怕老虎。”当时就流传了胡适怕老婆的笑话。

有一次，巴黎的朋友寄给胡适十几个法国的古铜币，因钱有“PTT”三个宇母，读起来谐音正巧为怕太太。胡适与几个怕太太的朋友开玩笑说：“如果成立一个怕太太协会，这些铜币正好用来做会员的证章。”

胡适经常到大学里去讲演。有一次，在某大学，讲演中他常引用

孔子、孟子、孙中山先生的话。引用时，他就在黑板上写：

“孔说”，“孟说”，“孙说”。

最后，他发现自己的意见时，竟引起了哄堂大笑，原来他写的是：

“胡说”。

有个老人在河边钓鱼，一个小孩走过去看他钓鱼，老人技巧纯熟，所以没多久就钓上了满篓的鱼，老人见小孩很可爱，要把整篓的鱼送给他，小孩摇摇头，老人惊异的问道：“你为何不要?”小孩回答：“我想要你手中的钓竿。”老人问：“你要钓竿做什么?”小孩说：“这篓鱼没多久就吃完了，要是我有钓竿，我就可以自己钓，一辈子也吃不完。” 我想你一定会说：好聪明的小孩。错了，他如果只要钓竿，那他一条鱼也吃不到。因为，他不懂钓鱼的技巧，光有鱼竿是没用的，因为钓鱼重要的不在钓竿，而在钓技有太多人认为自己拥有了人生道上的钓竿，再也无惧于路上的风雨，如此，难免会跌倒于泥泞地上。就如小孩看老人，以为只要有钓竿就有吃不完的鱼，像职员看老板，以为只要坐在办公室，就有滚进的财源。

小鹿和小猴是一对十分要好的朋友，可是有一天它俩吵架了，谁也不理谁，因为他们又在比本领了。猴子神气地说：“我的本领最高，我可以灵活地在树上爬上爬下，在树上摘果子，瞧瞧你，又笨又不灵活，又爬不上树，我比你棒!”“什么呀?我跑得快，一瞬间我就没影了，老虎想抓我也难呢!你，头脑简单，四肢发达，头大无脑，脑大生草。”小鹿顶嘴说。“那我们去比赛一下谁的本领大!”小猴说。

一开始，他们找到了松鼠妹妹，说明原因后，松鼠妹妹说：“你们比赛在树顶上摘一颗松果，最快的就胜利，1、2、3、开始!”话音刚落，小猴双脚向后一蹬，双手向上一爬，三两下就蹦到了树顶，疾眼快地摘下一颗最大的松果，再在树顶上挥动着松果大声说：“看到了吗，我赢了，耶!”可小鹿呢?只能在树下眼睁睁地看着冠军被抢走。

然后，他们又找到了马大哥，说明原因后，马大哥说：“你两比赛赛跑吧!1、2、3、开始!”话还没说完，小鹿放开四蹄，撒腿就跑!顿时烟尘滚滚，小鹿像只箭一样冲了过去并在终点大声说：“我到了赢了!”。可小猴蹦蹦跳跳地跑，慢的要死。

接着，他们又找到了熊大叔，说明原因后，熊大叔说：“你们谁先到小河对岸摘一个桃子回来，最快的就胜利，1、2、3、开始!”小鹿一下跑到了树下，可它可不会爬树啊，那就摘不到桃子，只能在树下看着桃子干瞪眼。而小猴呢，可没小鹿跑得快，也不会淌水过河，也在河边干瞪眼。正在两个都干着急时，小猴在河边大声喊：“小鹿，你回来，背我过河，我们一起摘桃!”小鹿想了想“对呀!我会过河，不会摘桃，小猴不会过河，会摘桃，合在一起就又会摘桃又会过河了!”于是回头跑过去，三两下就把小猴背过河跑到桃树下面，小猴双脚向后一蹬，双手向上一爬，“嗖”一下就蹦到了树顶，手疾眼快地摘下一颗最大的桃子。当他们俩把桃子送到熊大叔面前，熊大叔说：“看，你们两个一个会跑，一个会爬树，都有本领。但只有一起互相合作才能摘到大桃子。这就是团结的力量!”

小猴和小鹿恍然大悟，明白了一个道理，团结就是力量!一根筷子容易断，一把筷子不易断!

这个暑假，对我来说，最有意义的一件事，就是参加第九届全国少儿故事大王比赛。比赛时间：8月12日，地点：沈阳军官学院。

这次比赛共有500多名选手参加，来自全国70多个城市。经过抽签，我抽中了258号，被安排在蓝队赛区，第六位上场。比赛开始了，当第一位选手走上台，我就开始紧张了。我不断地安慰自己：“放松，放松，别紧张……”可是，紧张的心态还没有调整过来，就已经轮到我了。我故作镇定，硬着头皮走上了舞台。弯身鞠躬，抬起头，正好遇到其中一位评委老师投来的目光。这目光，多么慈祥啊!一瞬间，我心里的紧张感“逃走”了，而沉着“溜了进来”。“大家好!我是258号选手。”我用响亮的声音介绍自己，紧接着，我开始讲故事《抓贼锁》。这个故事里有三个人物 分别是“小林”、“小偷”和“锁”，对话的时候语气、语调都不一样，为了把故事讲得更加深动，更加吸引人，还要很自然的配上动作和表情。排练的时候，我经常要犯些“错误”，比如忘记加表情或动作没做到位，而此时此刻，我不但没犯“错误”，而且表情做得很丰富，动作做得非常到位。总之，故事《抓贼锁》被我讲得精彩极了。

讲完故事，我急切地等待着评委给我打分。“9。0分、8。9分、9。01分”。“啪啪啪……”全场响起了雷鸣般的掌声。

“周闻哲，二等奖”，吕丹老师兴致勃勃地跑来告诉我。听到这个消息，我开心地跳了起来。吕丹老师对我这次比赛的成绩非常满意，她鼓励我要继续努力，争取在下一届全国少儿故事大王比赛中获得更好的成绩。
