为提高孩子们英语水平，检验近期英语学习情况，进一步培养学生的英语综合运用能力，营造英语文化氛围，7月28日，山东理工大学“红色之旅”实践团于菏泽市牡丹区赵楼社区支教基地举行英语作文比赛。

此次比赛本着“人人参与”的原则，在初中三个年级中进行。以《My holidy》（我的假期）为题，学生们现场发挥，在30分钟的时间内写出一篇100词作文。比赛过程中，参赛选手胸有成竹，屏气凝神，严格遵守比赛规则，表现出优秀的参赛风格。全部同学在规定时间内完成，甚至有几位同学提前做完，显示出同学们对英语的有效掌握。学生作文水平虽显稚嫩，但从单词、句子的运用，到语法篇章的安排，都显示出了英语教学有了明显的进步，这是同学们勤学英语的结果，也是每位实践队员辛勤教学的结果。最终，赵芳同学脱颖而出荣获一等奖，刘涵、赵紫、赵伟等分获二、三等奖，队员们为其颁发奖状、奖品，以资鼓励。赛后，实践团将同学们的作品在橱窗中展示，以供大家交流学习。同学们表示今后一定再接再厉，学好英语。队员们鼓励大家在日常生活中也要勤学勤用，在实践中探索英语的奥秘。

此次比赛有力调动起同学们学习英语的积极性，提高了对英语的实用能力，提高了学生英语读写能力。据悉，此类活动还将继续开展，为学生创设运用英语写作展示的平台。

以前有个小国的人到中国来，进贡了三个一模一样的金人，金壁辉煌，把皇帝高兴坏了。但是这小国的人不厚道，同时出一道题目：这三个金人哪个最有价值？皇帝想了许多的办法，请来饰品匠检查，称重量，看做工，都是一模一样的。

怎样办？使者还等着回去汇报呢。泱泱大国，不会连这个小事都不懂吧？最后，有一位退位的老大臣说他有办法。皇帝将使者请到大殿，老臣胸有成足地拿着三根稻草，插入第一个金人的耳朵里，这稻草从另一边耳朵出来了。第二个金人的稻草从嘴巴里直接掉出来，而第三个金人，稻草进去后掉进了肚子，什么响动也没有。老臣说：第三个金人最有价值！使者默默无语，答案正确。

这个故事告诉我们，最有价值的人，不必须是最能说的人。老天给我们两只耳朵一个嘴巴，本来就是让我们多听少说的。善于倾听，才是成熟的人最基本的素质。

一只鸽子老是不断地搬家，想去掉自己身上的气味！它觉得，每次新窝住了没多久，就有一种浓烈的怪味，让它喘不上气来，不得已只好一向搬家。它觉得很困扰，就把烦恼跟一只经验丰富的老鸽子诉苦。老鸽子说：“你搬了这么多次家根本没有用啊，正因那种让你困扰的怪味并不是从窝里面发出来的，而是你自己身上的味道啊。”

寓言启示录：与团队格格不入，问题来自于自己！

有些人会不断埋怨别人的过错，指责别人的缺点，他们觉得周围的环境和人处处跟自己作对；或者是认为自己“曲高和寡”，一般人无法明白自己丰富而深刻的思想。实际上，他们没有意识到真正的问题不是来自于周围，而是来自于他们自己。像这样的人，务必试着认清自己，试着认真而深刻地反省自己。而一个组织也没必要为了失掉这样一只“鸽子”而遗憾。

这个成语来源于东汉。应劭《风俗通义》，时北壁上有悬赤弩，照于杯，形如蛇。宣畏恶之，然不敢不饮。

有一年夏天，县令应郴请主簿（办理文书事务的官员）杜宣来饮酒。酒席设在厅堂里，北墙上悬挂着一张红色的弓。由于光线折射，酒杯中映入了弓的影子。杜宣看了，以为是一条蛇在酒杯中蠕动，顿时冷汗涔涔。但县令是他的上司，又是特地请他来饮酒的，不敢不饮，所以硬着头皮喝了几口。仆人再斟时，他借故推却，起身告辞走了。回到家里，杜宣越来越疑心刚才饮下的是有蛇的酒，又感到随酒入口的蛇在肚中蠕动，觉得胸腹部疼痛异常，难以忍受，吃饭、喝水都非常困难。

家里人赶紧请大夫来诊治。但他服了许多药，病情还是不见好转。

过了几天，应郴有事到杜宣家中，问他怎么会闹病的，杜宣便讲了那天饮酒时酒杯中有蛇的事。应郴安慰他几句，就回家了。他坐在厅堂里反复回忆和思考，弄不明白杜宣酒杯里怎么会有蛇的。

突然，北墙上的那张红色的弓引起了他的注意。他立即坐在那天杜宣坐的位置上，取来一杯酒，也放在原来的位置上。结果发现，酒杯中有弓的影子，不细细观看，确实像是一条蛇在蠕动。应郴马上命人用马车把杜宣接来，让他坐在原位上，叫他仔细观看酒杯里的影子，并说：“你说的杯中的蛇，不过是墙上那张弓的倒影罢了，没有其他什么怪东西。现在你可以放心了！”

杜宣弄清原委后，疑虑立即消失，病也很快痊愈了。

一个年老的印度大师对总是抱怨的弟子感到厌倦了。有一天，他派他的弟子去买盐。弟子回来后，大师吩咐这个不快活的年轻人抓一把盐放在一杯水中，然后喝了它。

“味道如何?”大师问。

“苦。”弟子吐了口吐沫。

大师又吩咐年轻人抓一把盐放进附近的湖里。弟子于是把盐倒进湖里，老者说：“再尝尝湖水。”

年轻人捧了一口湖水尝了尝。大师问道：“什么味道?”

“很新鲜。”弟子答道。

“你尝到咸味了吗?”大师问。

“没有。”年轻人答道。

这时大师对弟子说道：“生命中的痛苦就象是盐；不多，也不少。我们在生活中遇到的痛苦就这么多。但是，我们体验到的痛苦却取决于我们将它盛放在多大的容器中。”

所以，当你处于痛苦时，你只要开阔你的胸怀……

不要做一只杯子，而要做一个湖泊。

一次音乐课上，大音乐家奥尔·布尔告诉学生——不要演奏任何失调的乐器，因为一旦这样做了，你就不会潜心区分音调的各种细微差异，就会很快地模仿和附和乐器发出的声音。这样，你的耳朵就很容易失灵。

说着，布尔拿过一把看似很普通的小提琴，提醒学生注意听他的演奏，然后判断一下是不是有一根弦松了。拉完一曲，布尔又拿起另一把做工非常精美的小提琴，告诉大家这是一把维也纳著名的制琴大师刚刚制做的好琴。他用它把刚才那支曲子又演奏了一遍。然后，他问学生：“仔细比较一下，是不是第一把小提琴有根弦松了，是不是音调有一丝的不和谐?”

一位学生站起来：“是的，第一把琴是有根弦松了。”

“没错。是松了一点点，仔细听就能听出来。”另一位学生补充道。

布尔走到教室后面的一位学生身旁，问他是否也听出来了有松弛的琴弦，这位学生肯定地点头附和。接着，他又问了其他学生，他们都说听出来了，第一把琴确实有根弦松了。还有的学生说，那音都因此有点儿粗糙了。

直到所有的学生都认为第一把琴有根弦松了，布尔才微笑着请大家再听他用这把琴把刚才那支曲子演奏一遍，看看是否能够听出究竟哪一根弦松了。作为对比，布尔还用那把漂亮的琴演奏了一遍。

学生们仿佛受了鼓励，都向前围了过来，紧紧地盯着布尔拉琴的手，竖起了耳朵，希望自己能够在名师面前辨别出那根松了的弦。

布尔刚一演奏完毕，学生们便指着桌上的第一把小提琴，七嘴八舌地争论开了。他们每个人都找到了自己认为松弛的琴弦，并为自己的判断找到了看似很充分的理由。布尔一直沉默地听着学生们的发言，未做任何评判。

过了好长一段时间，教室静了下来。学生们都把目光投向了布尔，等待大音乐家揭示答案，看看究竟是哪一根弦松了。

然而，布尔却举着学生们刚才评点的琴，郑重地告诉他们：“这可是一把精制的小提琴啊。i位著名调琴师刚刚把它调试好，根本就没有一根弦是松的。倒是这一把外表做工很精巧的琴，有两根弦都松了，你们看，就在这里。”顺着布尔的手，大家果然看到了他们没有留意的两根松弛的琴弦。

“啊。原来是这样!”学生们惊讶得一时呆住了。“你们都轻信了我刚才故意做的那些误导，轻信了那根不存在的虚幻的‘断弦’。其实，我真正的用意是要提醒大家记住了——今后，无论是拉琴，还是生活，都要学会倾听。不仅要学会用耳朵倾听。还要学会用心灵倾听。尤其是在那些需要聚精会神的时候，千万不能松弛了你们心灵的琴弦。”布尔语重心长地教诲道。

布尔以其新颖的授课方式，向人们揭示了一个深刻的道理——在人生旅途上，当你放弃了自我，轻易地盲从于他人，就很有可能失去正确的方向。

人生就像一条漫长的道路，有鲜花，也有荆棘；有平坦，也有泥泞；有幸福，也有痛苦。唯有笑对人生，才能让生命不虚此行。

记得三年前的某一天，我进初中的第一次考试就考砸了，我看到试卷上鲜红的叉叉，心里很不是滋味。再加上那是正处于适应期，还未完全融入初中的环境，和周围人也很生分。种。种压力像山一样压在我身上，我快喘不过气了。放学后，我走在回家的路上，秋风裹挟着树叶，落了一地的悲凉。走在寒风中，我好冷，心更冷，我感到眼泪快要夺眶而出了。

此时，爸爸来接我了，我很意外，因为平时都是我自己一个人回家。爸爸给我带来了外套，他说天冷才来送衣服，顺便打听一下我考试的情况。我一下子泪雨滂沱，扑在爸爸怀里，把我考砸这回事儿还有我内心的感受一五一十全说了。爸爸听完，笑了：“就为了这点事呀，还哭，多丢人。”之后他语重心长地劝我，“这次考试又不决定你的命运，只要你把错误纠正、吸取教训就行了，胜不骄、败不馁嘛！至于环境，我相信你迟早会适应的，要满怀希望、要相信自己、要笑对人生，这样才会过好生活，迎接灿烂的朝霞！”听完父亲这一番话，我如醍醐灌顶，是啊，哭也是一天，笑也是一天，我为何不笑对人生呢？虽然人生路上有很多苦难和挫折，但是心态可以有自己控制，自己阳光了，乌云才会离你远去。于是，我收拾好心情，照爸爸的话把错题统统看一遍，找出错误的原因。在处理同学关系的问题上，我也抱着积极的态度，终于让身边的同学感受到了我的乐观，与我交了朋友，很快，我就完全适应了初中生活。

从那以后，无论生活中发生了什么不如意的事情，我都会笑着面对它。因为我知道，只有笑对人生，才能驱散阴霾、战胜困难！

李阳祖籍山西，1969年出生于祖国大西北的新疆乌鲁木齐。其父母六十年代大学毕业后响应党的号召志愿支援边疆建设。李阳中学的学习状况不很理想，1985-1986年高三期间因对学习失去信心曾几欲退学，1986年自新疆实验中学勉强考入兰州大学工程力学系。大学一二年级李阳多次补考英语。

为了彻底改变英语学习失败的窘况，李阳开始奋起一博，他摒弃了偏重语法训练和阅读训练的传统，另辟蹊径，从口语突破，并独创性将考试题变成了朗朗上口的句子，然后脱口而出。经过四个月的艰苦努力，李阳在1988年大学英语四级考试中一举获得全校第二名的优异成绩。

李阳，绝对是高中学生学习英语的榜样。基础差不要紧，笨鸟先飞嘛，关键是我们要引导学生树立起学好英语的自信心：人家可以讲一口流利、纯正、地道的英语，我们也一定能！

今年四月到六月，我参加了2017年“希望之星”英语风采大赛。这可是全国性的比赛哦！必须要闯过海选、市赛和省赛三关，才能去北京参加中央电视台的总决赛。

参加市赛的早上，我和妈妈坐车到了目的地。当时，太阳特别大，天特别热，而且人山人海。我们到了之后赶紧报到，接着就排队去比赛了。因为我是最后一个，等了好久才轮到我，裁判先让我抽图，准备看图说话，再自我介绍。我觉得自己前两个环节表现得挺好的，最后是回答问题，这个环节有点难，四个题中我只答出两个。紧接着裁判宣布结果，我心想：肯定有我！肯定有我！结果，真的有我！我拿了市赛一等奖，进入了省赛。

省赛的准备过程是非常艰难的，又是背台词，又是准备自我介绍，还有模拟考试。仅仅是看图说话环节，一训练就是一上午……

终于迎来了省赛。我怀着紧张的心情走进赛场，里面很安静，选手们都在努力地背词，我也不甘示弱。自我介绍环节，我们都做得非常好，看图说话环节就比较惨了，得知成绩后，我的心情非常低落，爸爸妈妈安慰我，要我别泄气，要我在下午最后一个环节加油，还特意给我复习了几遍演讲内容，我的心情又明朗起来。下午的比赛开始了，轮到我上场了，我站在台上，信心十足地完成了演讲，最后的分数还不错哦！

我的2017年“希望之星”英语风采大赛结束了，虽然我没有踏上国赛舞台，但是我虽败犹荣！这个过程中，我见识到了那些高手们的厉害！我一定要好好学习英语！我一定会回来的！明年再战！

When I was very small, I liked to read novels and watched all kinds of
