There once were two poor woodsmen who made a living by collecting woods in the mountain。 One day, they happened to discover two large bag of cotton in the mountain and felt surprisingly happy。 The cotton was light but valuable, so they carried it on their back and went back home。

When they were walking home, one of the woodsmen spotted a large bundle of cloth beside the road。 So he discussed with his partner whether to discard the cotton and take the cloth instead。 But his partner held a different view that since he had carried the cotton for such a long way, he would not change it with cloth because all his previous effort would turn out to be in vain。 Therefore, the other woodsman abandoned the cotton and carried the cloth on his back。 After walking for a while, the woodsman who carried the cloth spotted several jars of gold disseminated on the ground not far away。 He felt so thrilled that he was going to be a wealthy man。 So he gave up the cloth and used his carrying pole to carry two jars of gold, while his partner was still reluctant to abandon the cotton and wondering whether the gold was real or not。

However, when they just went down to the foot of the mountain, it began to rain all of a sudden。 Both of them were wet from head to toes。 More unfortunately, the woodsman who carried the cotton found that his cotton had absorbed tons of water and became so heavy that he could no longer go on carrying it。 Desperately, he had to abandon the cotton and went back home empty—handed with his partner carrying gold。

This story implies that we should deliberately utilize our wisdom and intelligence to make the right choice in face of every critical point in our life。 Meantime, we should not forget to review all the choices we have carefully and adjust our goal accordingly。 We should learn to view a certain issue from different angles and avoid being stubborn。 By opening your mind to the right choice, you will be guided to a smoother way to success。

Helen Keller became blind and deaf as a child, but she went through college with great difficulty. She has written more than a dozen works in her life, while working to save children, protect womens rights and fight for racial equality. He was awarded the presidential medal of freedom in 1964.

She groped her way up in the dark. At the age of seven, the family hired a tutor for her, the teacher who influenced Helens life. Sullivan was almost blind as a child and understood the pain of loss of light. Under the guidance of her hard work, Helen learned to learn sign language by hand touch, she learned to read by touch, then she touched others lips and finally learned to speak.

Miss Sullivan, in order to bring Helen to nature, let her roll on the grass, run and jump in the fields, sow seeds in the fields, and climb trees to eat. Take her to touch the newborn pig, also to the river to play water. Under the care of her teacher, Helen overcame blindness and deafness and completed her college education.

Helen was very sad when she left the world in 1936 with her teacher for fifty years. Helen knew that without the love of her teacher, she would not have been today, determined to carry forward the love that the teacher gave her. So Helen traveled all over the United States in large and small cities, traveling around the world, working for people with disabilities, and working for those who were unhappy.

In 1968, Helen died at the age of 89, and she devoted all her life to the service of disabled people throughout the world. She wrote a lot of books and her story was made into a movie. Miss Sullivan gave her the most precious love, and she spread love to all the unfortunate people, giving them light and hope.

After her death, her strong will and outstanding contribution touched the whole world, and people everywhere celebrated her activities

"If give me three days light" is Helen Kellers prose masterpiece, she with a waist weak womans point of view, warned able-bodied people should cherish life, cherish the creator of all things. In addition, my life story, which is included in this book, is Helen Kellers autobiographical work, which is honored as "the greatest masterpiece in world literature history".

March 3, 1887, it was a very important day for Helen. On this day, she was brought in by a teacher, miss Anne Sullivan. Annie taught her to write and sign language. "No one can imagine how surprised and happy I am," said Mr. Yannagno of the boggins blind school, when he read a letter of the French letter with a look of surprise. For I believe in her ability, but also difficult to believe that her 3 months of learning is such good results, in the United States, other people to achieve this level, have to spend time in a year." Helen was nine years old

In the summer of 1894, Helen attended the American association for the advancement of deaf people, and was arranged to attend the school of the deaf in New York City, studying mathematics, nature, French, and German. Within a few months she could converse freely in German; In less than a year, she had finished her German work, William tell. Teachers who teach French do not understand sign language and have to be dictated. In spite of this, Helen soon mastered French and read the novel "the forced doctor" twice. During her time in New York, Helen got to know many friends of the literary world. Mark Twain read her wonderful short stories for her, and they established a sincere friendship. In her quiet home on the Merrimac river, Dr. Holmes read the poems of rouse bean, and when she read the last two pages, holmes placed a statue of a slave in her hand. "She was the emancipator of your mind," holmes told Helen. The doctor was referring to miss Anne. Helens heart was filled with excitement, the worlds beautiful thoughts, deep love, and solid pursuit, all like spring seeds deeply implanted in the heart. Helen confidently said, "Im going to college someday! Im going to harvard!" The day finally came. Harvard Universitys Radcliffe womens college has arranged her entrance exams in a special way. She used her hand to touch the raised braille, and then answered the question with a typewriter. Nine hours before and after, all subjects passed, English and German were the best grades, Helen started college with a keen heart.

In June 1904, Helen graduated from Radcliffe with honors. Two years later, she was appointed chairman of the Massachusetts blind committee and began a social work for the blind. She received the visiting blind people every day, and returned the same letters. Later on, she toured the country, traveling for the promotion of blind blind education plans and treatment plans. By 1921, the American foundation for the blind was finally founded. Helen, one of the groups leaders, has been working hard to strengthen the foundations work. In her busy work, she never put down her pen and finished 14 books successively. "The story of my life", "the song of the stone wall" "out of the dark," "optimism" and so on, all have a worldwide impact. Helens last work was the teacher, she has to collect the book notes and letters of 20 years, and all this and three-quarters of the manuscripts were burned in a fire, burn and braille library, along with their exquisite craft gifts from all over the world. If another person might be disheartened, but Helen felt more determined to finish it, and she sat quietly before the typewriter, and began to trudge again and again. Ten years later, Helen finished her book. She was relieved that the book was a gift to her teacher, and the teacher Anne was very proud of it.

On November 15, 1956, erect perkins the blind school in the United States on a plaque at the entrance of the curtain, with trembling hands, unveiled by Helen, it read: Helen Keller and Anne Su Liwen · wheat west. This is not a common plaque, but for those who have written a prominent chapter in the history of human civilization. Indeed, Helen has dedicated her life to the welfare of the blind and the cause of the education, which has earned the respect of people all over the world, and the United Nations has launched the "Helen Keller" world campaign. On June 1, 1968, Helen Keller, a deaf and blind scholar, writer, educator, who wrote the history of human civilization, passed away in flowers. However, her indomitable fighting spirit, her legendary life, but always in the history, just as the famous writer Mark Twain said: "in the 19th century appeared two great figures, one is napoleon, one is Helen Keller."

Bob Richards, the former pole-vault champion, shares a moving story about a skinny young boy who loved football with all his heart.

Practice after practice, he eagerly gave everything he had. But being half the size of the other boys, he got absolutely nowhere. At all the games, this hopeful athlete sat on the bench and hardly ever played.

This teenager lived alone with his father, and the two of them had a very special relationship. Even though the son was always On the bench, his father was always in the stands cheering. He never missed a game. This young man was still the smallest of the class when he entered high school. But his father continued to encourage him but also made it very clear that he did not have to play football if he didn‘t want to.

But the young man loved football and decided to hang in there He was determined to try his best at every practice, and perhaps he‘d get to play when he became a senior. All through high school he never missed a practice nor a game but remained a bench-warmer all four years. His faithful father was always in the stands, always with words of encouragement for him. When the young man went to college, he decided to try out for the football team as a "walk-on." Everyone was sure he could never make the cut, but he did.

The coach admitted that he kept him on the roster because he always puts his heart and soul to every practice, and at the same time, provided the other members with the spirit and hustle they badly needed.

The news that he had survived the cut thrilled him so much that he rushed to the nearest phone and called his father. His father shared his excitement and was sent season tickets for all the college games. This persistent young athlete never missed practice during his four years at college, but he never got to play in a game.

It was the end of his senior football season, and as he trotted onto the practice field shortly before the big playoff game, the coach met him with a telegram. The young man read the telegram and he became deathly silent. Swallowing hard, he mumbled to the coach, "My father died this morning. Is it all right if I miss practice today?" The coach put his arm gently around his shoulder and said, "Take the rest of the week off, son. And don‘t even plan to come back to the game on Saturday."

Saturday arrived, and the game was not going well. In the third quarter, when the team was ten points behind, a silent young man quietly slipped into the empty locker room and put on his football gear. As he ran onto the sidelines, the coach and his players were astounded to see their faithful teammate back so soon. "Coach, please let me play. I‘ve just got to play today," said the young man. The coach pretended not to hear him. There was no way he wanted his worst player in this close playoff game. But the young man persisted, and finally feeling sorry for the kid, the coach gave in. "All right," he said."You can go in." Before long, the coach, the players and everyone in the stands could not believe their eyes. This little unknown, who had never played before was doing everything right. The opposing team could not stop him. He ran, he passed, blocked, and tackled like a star. His team began to triumph. The score was soon tied. In the closing seconds of the game, this kid intercepted a pass and ran all the way for the winning touchdown. The fans broke loose. His teammates hoisted him onto their shoulders. Such cheering you never heard.

Finally, after the stands had emptied and the team had showered and left the locker room, the coach noticed that this young man was sitting quietly in the corner all alone The coach came to him and said, " Kid, I can‘t believe it. You were fantastic! Tell me what got into you? How did you do it?"

He looked at the coach, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Well, you knew my dad died, but did you know that my dad was blind?" The young man swallowed hard and forced a smile, "Dad came to all my games, but today was the first time he could see me play, and I wanted to show him I could do it!"

Like the athlete‘s father, God is always there cheering for us. He‘s always reminding us to go on. He‘s even offering us His hand for He knows what is best, and is willing to give us what we need and not simply what we want. GOD has never missed a single game. What a joy to know that life is meaningful if lived for the Highest. Live for HIM for He‘s watching us in the game of life!
