语言是文化的表现形式。谚语同文学作品、诗歌一样是语言的精华。英语谚语是富于色彩的语言形式，一般具有生动形象、喻义明显、富于哲理的语言特征。在一定程度上，英语谚语反映了英语民族的文化特点。因此，翻译英语谚语时，仅仅以语言之间词汇的同义性（等价性）为前提，寻求对等的表现是不够的。译者须较多运用汉语的表现手段，力求能再现英语谚语的语言风格和丰富内涵。只有多注意英语谚语字面以外所特有的语言内涵色彩，才能使译文讽喻得当，宜于说理，又不失原来谚语所具有的语言形象。

有些英语谚语意在言外，语言含蓄，寓意深刻。如果仅从字面意义直译成汉语，而不领会原文的具体含义及其效果，译文势必平淡无味。这样既不能表达意思，又有损于原文的语言形象和丰富内涵。因此，在翻译时，应在汉语中寻找那些与原文喻义相同或效果相似的成语、谚语或俗语来表达，则会使译文形象生动，准确达意。试比较下列各译例。

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.如译成“住在玻璃房子里的人，不应扔石头”不如译成“己有过，勿正人”或“责人必先责己”。

如果按字面译成，“你可以把马牵到河边去，但不能叫它饮水”至少是没有充分体现这句谚语本身所具有的强烈对比色彩。从语法分析的观点看，在这个句子里，情态动词may和can虽然都表示“可能”的，但在含义上有所不同。这里may表示“事实上的可能性”，而can则表示“逻辑上的可能性”。并列连词but使前后两个分句意义相反，对比色彩强烈。在这种情况下，译文也必须力求对偶整齐，前后呼应，形成对照。如将此句译作“牵马河边易，逼它饮水难”或“老牛不喝水，不能强按头”会更好些。

总之，即使像谚语这样孤立的语句，翻译时也需尽一番揣摩切磋之功，否则译文就可能与原文“貌合神离”，文不达意。译事艰辛也许正在于此。

Everybody is good!

It is my great honor to stand here and participate in the election of the monitor. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your support. First of all, I would like to introduce myself to you: my name is tao league. As a freshman at the university, I am one of the leaders of the department of health.

As a child, my father once said to me: do things with your feet on the ground and do them one step at a time. Therefore, I went from a middle school student to the first year of the university to enter this sacred place, I deeply feel the opportunity is hard-won, need to cherish. It is this power that makes me feel confident when I stand here.

Its very important for us to protect the environment. All of us want to live in a better place, so its our duty to beautfy the environment. As a senior high school student, we should do something.

Above all, we should never throw rubbish ourself. We must keep this rule, and then influence the others. Whats more, we should care more about the environment. For instance, we should read newspapers about the globle environment problems and think deep about them. Last but not the least, we ought to promote the importance of protecting the environment. In this way, we can call on more and more people to join us.

Lets take actions as soon as possible! Lets protect the earth, and live a better environment.

We can get a Chinese New Year lucky money every year,but not all the reasonable use of it.I will get a part of to my parents,the other one is by their own bank.My parents also support me to do so.

In my opinion,this is a reasonable approach.Because many peoples self-control is not good,if all the money on his own,it will quickly spend it.But if he do not have any money,and no way to buy want to buy things.Therefore,it is to help parents keep a part of the money,other part of the money to retain our hands.

welcome to our school for a visit. i am very glad to tell you how to get to our school. here is the route. when you walk out of the station, please turn left, walk ahead and pass a crossing. you should walk ahead till the first traffic light and turn right. then you will find a park on your left side. walk aling the street and pass the park. then you will see a bank. opposite the bank is a narrow lane. just go into the lane and walk about 100 meters, and you are sure to get to our school gate, at which the board reads no. 1 middle school in both chinese and english.

今天，窗外淅淅沥沥的雨总是和惆怅的心合拍，不小心又把抑郁和孤独搁在了文字间，写到了生活里。于是，我躲在房间里等待天晴，盼望有阳光自窗口倾泻，撒满房间，晾晒潮湿的心。可是那绵绵的细雨下下停停，如同我落寞的心欲说还休。偶尔有阵阵惬意的笑声越过高楼传进了耳朵里，不经意地打开窗户朝下望了望，原来是一群孩子撑着伞在雨地里玩耍、嬉戏。看到那一幕，我的心豁然开朗了！尽管外面下着雨，可他的心仍是晴朗的啊，即使身上是雨水，却丝毫影响不到那颗快乐、童真的心，挡不住满面的笑容。

突然间感到羞愧，那颗心脆弱的竟然不及一个孩子，害怕风雨，等着抚慰。象茧一样缩在自缚的壳里，躲避现实的嘈杂。此刻，象傻瓜一样的我才弄明白，是茧它总要破壳变成飞蛾，心灵的天空如果整天乌云密布，自然不会有阳光普照。真是一场及时的雨，刷洗了我心中尘封已久的灰尘。雨后的岁月不容再蹉跎！

这次的寒假实在是让我记忆深刻，由于新型冠状病毒的来袭，寒假无限延长，真是圆了我多年的梦，玩的不亦乐乎!随着假期延长，我又接触了一个新鲜事物——网课。

为了方便网上学习，妈妈特意帮我申请了一个QQ号码。我早就知道QQ可以聊天，第一天在QQ群看到那么多熟悉的名字时，感到格外亲切。趁着网课时间，没有老师和家长的监督，我偷偷分屏聊起了天，几天下来，感觉特别过瘾。一天，我正忘乎所以之时，突然，背后出现一个黑影，当我回头，与我对视的是妈妈凶神恶煞的眼神，我以为这次必牺牲在“斩妖台”上了，忐忑不安地上完网课后，妈妈非常平静地甩下一句话：“自己好好想想!”

我赶紧逃离了妈妈的视线，心里嘀咕着：我不就是无聊吗?玩一会儿而已，有什么大不了的?满怀心事的来到了客厅。电视里正热火朝天的播放着抗疫前线的报道，看着看着，我心里五味杂陈。

这次让人猝不及防的疫情，让所有的医护人员都变成了白衣战士，舍小家、顾大家，不畏艰险地保护着中国健康;为了让“战士”们无后顾之忧，志愿者们不怕牺牲，不辞辛苦地保障后勤供应;为了梦想，一个面临高考的小姐姐，带着干粮，爬上山顶，寻找那微弱的信号……他们都维护着自己的责任、坚守着自己的信念，是那么的自律与自觉。

与他们相比，我实在是太幸福了，我可以舒舒服服地在家烤着火、捧着手机上网课，可是这美好的一切却换来我的不珍惜，为了一己私心，不尊重老师和家长，我深感愧疚!我赶紧走到妈妈身边，羞愧的说了一句：“妈妈，对不起!”

感谢那些为祖国为人民做贡献的“战士们!如果没有他们的无私奉献，疫情的控制也不会如此迅速有效!我们也不可能如此安稳地坐在家里学习，想到这里，我思绪万千，或许现在的我并不能很实际地去为祖国做些什么，但是我可以尽自己的全力好好学习，将来为祖国奉献一份自己的力量!
