Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world.

On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in).

Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.

The Importance of Breakfast

As people are so busy with their work, they go to work directly in the morning without eating breakfast. Some people think not having breakfast does no influence on their body health. Some believe breakfast is important to peoples body health. In my opinion, Im convinced that we should have breakfast because it is good for our body health.

First of all, breakfast offer us the energy we need for the day. Before breakfast, our body has consumed all the energy we get from previous meal. Consequently, we need to eat some food in the morning to get enough energy and nutrient to support our body. If we dont have breakfast, then we have no enough energy to do our work efficiently.

Secondly, people who skip breakfast will get weight easily. If you dont have breakfast, then you will eat more food at noon and in the evening. Generally speaking, we dont have much excise in the evening while we eat too much food. As a result, the surplus calorie will be stored in our body and make us fat.

All in all, people should eat breakfast for the good of our health and for the good of keeping a good body shape.

做什么菜呢？想了半天我决定就炒一道美味土豆丝！说干就干，我从橱柜下面的袋子里挑了四个大大的土豆，认真地削起了皮，削好之后又把他们放在水龙头下面冲干净，然后我又拿了几只辣椒洗干净。该切菜了，我先把辣椒切成一小块一小块的，很快就切完了，我不禁想：切菜还挺容易的。可是很快，切土豆却把我难住了，一切一滑，特别费力，还好几次差点切到了手指。好不容易切完了，我疲惫地放下菜刀，长长地舒了口气。

低头一看，我切的哪是土豆丝啊，分明是板凳腿，长的长、短的短、粗的粗、细的细……哎。

准备就绪后，我把火一打，油一倒，火急火燎地把菜和辣椒倒了进去，拿着铲子学着妈妈平时炒菜的样子翻了起来，土豆丝和辣椒在几个回合之后呈现出了亮黄色，我心想，炒好了一定很好吃，就一边翻菜一边美滋滋地唱起了歌。没想到，一滴油一下子蹦进我的嘴里，把我烫得龇牙咧嘴，赶紧丢下铲子跑到外面喝了好几口冷水，这才好点。突然，我闻到了一股怪味，遭了！我的菜！我连忙跑到厨房，用铲子把菜了翻了两下，就发现有一部分已经黑了。我又赶紧手忙脚乱的放上了各种调料，然后拿筷子尝了一根，太淡，我又加了一勺盐翻了两下把火关掉，小心翼翼地把菜盛到盘子里。

晚上，爸爸回来后，看到我为他炒的菜，问今天是什么日子，我跟爸爸说：“今天是父亲节，这是我给你的特殊的父亲节礼物。”爸爸听了后非常的开心，把我炒的菜全部都吃了。

Health is most important for any of us. ]n order to stay healthy, we need some common knowledge.

First]y, pay attention to the diet. We should eat lots of fruit and vegetables, because they are rich in fiber and Iow in fat. As a proverb says, An apple a day keeps the doctor away. So fruit is good for health. Dont have a lot of food that contains too much fat, such as butter. Meanwhile, sweets should be eaten in proper quantity, because too much sugar does harm to us. Secondly, exercise is necessary. Regular exercise can help us keep from getting fat. People who do running every day usually have stronger hearts than who dont.

My future house is wide and spacious. Everything inside the house will be clean of themselves so I dont have to wash them. The tables are new, the computer is the coolest and the tv channels are enjoyable to watch. I want the background of the wall is mysterious and pretty and different in every single room. My future house will prevent the volcano blow and the tsunami or flood attack. It has the emergency exit and security alarm so everything will be safe! When I stepped out of the lift afterwork tonight, I smell something smoky from one of the flats... internet, they can easily have their dream realized via cell phones too.

furthermore, if someone has a heart attack or a traffic accident, a call to

emergency hospital or to the police can quickly bring him the help he wants.

However, cell phones can also bring people problems. the most serious is

the electric wave radiation which is thought to be harmful to users brains.

another problem is that when people are having a meeting or having a class or at

a concert etc, the ring of the cell phone may interrupt others. so i think

people should use cellphones as little as possible and turn them off when they

are attending important meetings or attending classes.

转眼间，马上就要到“三八”妇女节了，我想送妈妈一份特殊的礼物，因为妈妈平时很忙，工作很辛苦，还要操持家务，所以我想在这个节日里，送妈妈一份特殊的礼物，给她一个惊喜。经过几天的“思考”，决定开始行动。平常好似小公主的我，最近也特别勤快，看到这儿，聪明的的你应该知道我的礼物就是帮妈妈干活，替她分担家务。

古往今来，有很多的名人志士。有的为自己的人生而奋斗，有的为自己的梦想而奋斗，还有的是为自己的祖国而奋斗。他们都是通过自己的努力而获得成就。

他们都是在自己的坚强意志下完成了自己所希望的。就像主席所说过的，“世上无难事，只要肯登攀。”是啊!这世上本就没有什么难事。办法都是人想出来的，奇迹也都是人创造的。

生活在这里的人都应有自己的梦想，去奋斗。而偏偏有的人在他最好的时光里，更想去选择那短暂的安逸。荒废了自己的一生。

我从小听老师讲过这样几个故事：

晋代时，车胤从小好学不倦，但因家境贫穷，父亲无法为他提供良好的学习环境。为了维持温饱，没有多余的钱买灯油供他晚上读书。为此，他只能利用白天背诵诗文。

夏天的一个夜晚，他正在院子里背一篇文章，忽然见许多萤火虫在地空中飞舞。一闪一闪的光点，在黑暗中闪得有些耀眼。他想，如果把许多的萤火虫集中到一起，不就成为一盏灯了吗?

于是，他去找了一只白绢口袋，随即抓了几十只萤火虫放在里面，再扎住口袋，把它吊起来。虽然不怎么明亮，但可勉强用来看书了。从此，只要有萤火虫，他就来抓一把来当灯用。由于他勤学苦练后来终于做了职位很高的官。

同朝代的孙康也是如此。由于没钱买灯油，晚上不能看书，只能早早睡觉。他觉得让时间这样白白浪费，非常可惜。一天晚上，孙康从睡梦中醒来，看到大雪透过窗户射进来的一丝光亮。他倦意顿失，不顾寒冷，奔到雪地里读起了书。手脚冻僵了，就起身跑一跑。此后，每逢有雪的晚上，他都会不顾严寒出来读书。后来他也当上了高官。

这些古人爱学、奋斗的精神都是我们应该学习的。现在的条件、科技都在慢慢的进步着，都比以前要好，与他们相比我们有什么理由不去好好学习、努力奋斗呢!

Today is the first day of te new term. I got up early and checked my wintcr vacation homework before going to sclool.

While I was busy clearing up the books, Father came in with a glass of milk in his hand, Drink it up, boy .Father said to me gently.

I was in such a hurry that Ipaid no attention whether the milk was hot or not. I drank a mouthful and cried with the sound of the broken glass. What’s the matter.? Father asked anxiously. You didn’t tell me the milk was so hot. I got a blister through being scalded. Oh, it’s my fault. Are you Ok? There is a big skating ground near our school. In winter, I often go skating there, and I enjoy the sport very much.

At first, I only went there to watch others skating. Some with good skills could skate wonderfully. I admired them from the bottom of my heart. But I couldn’t do it myself. I was only an onlooker. How I longed to skate myself!

I began to make up my mind to learn it. But as soon as I stepped on the ice, I stumbled over myself. At once, some people caught me, and I turned red over their laughter. Letters ,they would listen to the radio for news and other information.Children used to go to school by bicycle .Big families had to share small rooms .

Now people can talk to others by telephone or on the Internet at home .When they are free ,they watch the news and other programmes on Tv .Some families are rich enough to send their children to school in their own cars . More and more people lives in big and bright apear ments with several rooms .
