从前有个放牧人家，爸爸妈妈带着儿子阿布过着幸福的生活。可就是有一天，爸爸妈妈在出去打猎的时候遇到了野兽，不幸遇难了，10岁的阿布从此成了可怜的孤儿。爸爸妈妈几乎什么也没给他留下，只有羊圈里大大小小15只羊。

坚强的阿布过起了独立生活，每天早上放羊，晚上把羊关进羊圈，靠卖羊奶和羊毛为生。这天，阿布和往常一样，早早地把羊群赶回了羊圈，回家休息了。没想到的就是……

半夜里，一条饿狼潜入阿布家的院子，绿着眼睛绕着羊圈转了很多圈，口水直流；羊群受到了惊吓，在羊圈里横冲直撞。可怕的事情发生了，常年失修的羊圈被一头强壮的公羊猛烈地撞了一下，两根篱笆桩松动脱落了下来，羊圈上出现了一个大洞！狼发现羊圈破了，立刻钻了进去……

第二天早上，阿布高高兴兴地来到羊圈，准备带羊群出去吃点新鲜的草。还没到羊圈，阿布就看到了地上的斑斑血迹，他心里一紧，不由加快了步子。“呀！”阿布惊叫起来，他看到了羊圈上的大窟窿，还有地上散乱的羊毛、点点的血迹和一些凌乱的狼的脚印。“不好，狼来偷羊了！”阿布立刻明白发生了什么事，他赶紧数了数羊的数量：“一、二、三……十二、十三！少了两只羊！”

阿布立刻哭了起来，他一共只有15只羊啊，这就是爸爸妈妈留给他的唯一的遗产！不知所措的阿布坐在羊圈旁呜呜地哭着，哭声传到了邻居王爷爷的耳朵里。王爷爷赶来一看，立刻安慰阿布说：“孩子，别难过了，羊已经丢了，还就是赶紧想想怎么样才能保住剩下的羊吧！”阿布抽泣着说：“我该怎么办呢？”王爷爷查看了一下羊圈，告诉阿布说：“别急，这羊圈总体来说还就是挺牢的，只要把这掉下的几根重新补上就好了。走，孩子，跟爷爷回家拿工具区。”阿布听话地点点头，擦干眼泪跟王爷爷走了。

阿布拿来了锤子和钉子，叮叮当当地补起了羊圈。每订好一根还用手摇一摇，看看就是不就是牢了。很快，羊圈补好了，细心的阿布还把其他的篱笆桩都修整了一下。满头大汗的阿布靠在羊圈边上休息，羊群发出了咩咩的叫声，好像在说：“谢谢主人，我们以后更安全啦！”阿布回头看看可爱的羊儿，又露出了笑容。
