我的家乡在广东省西部的一个海滨城市---湛江市。湛江靠海，能经常吃到各种美味的海鱼。

听爷爷奶奶说，以前，湛江的海水非常的蓝，也很干净，随着周围的工厂慢慢多起来，靠近城市的海水就变了颜色，也多出一些怪怪的味道。爷爷奶奶家楼下有一条河，河床上已经积了厚厚的淤泥，河两旁的还有的居民把垃圾直接倒进河里。每到夏天，即使是在10楼，你也都能闻到河水里的臭味。

几年前的一个夏天，我到海边去玩。可是，一到海边，看到那水面上冒着的一片片白泡沫，我就开始感到很恶心，一点儿下水的念头都没有了。最后，我只在海边玩了一会儿沙子就回家了。

不过前次回去湛江，我看到城市的道路干净了很多，绿树业多了很多，再去到海边，又能看见蓝蓝的海水了，我和爸爸还一起在海里打起了“水战”呢。爷爷奶奶家楼下的小河，虽然还有淤泥，可是已经有工人定期去清理了。

火鸡肉饭的特色是好吃，有特殊的材料，才会吸引许多游客来吃。特殊的材料是用当地的火鸡肉片再加上酱汁。有一次我在自己去买我最喜欢的鸡肉饭，跟我爸爸吃我最喜欢的火鸡肉饭，我吃得非常开心，因为这是我自己去买的火鸡肉饭，而且是家乡的特色食物。

凤梨是家乡的特产，凤梨是有酸酸甜甜的感觉，可以做凤梨酥、凤梨三明治等食品。有一次爸爸买给我凤梨三明治，我感觉到甜甜的滋味好吃到爆！又有一次我们去买凤梨酥，我觉得有一种软软和甜甜的感觉，如果我有去那里，我一定再来买凤梨酥。

我为甚么喜欢家乡，因为家乡有许多特色、特产，这些特色、特产都是我的喜爱，这些食品、物品要记得不要浪费、要爱惜物品。

The quality of human life has improved greatly over the past few centuries, but Earth is being harmed more and more by human activity. As we develop our technology, we demand more from our planet. Eventually, this will harm people as well.

Our planet gives us everything we need, but natural resources are not endless. Strip mining devastates whole regions, leaving bare and useless ground. Deforestation removes old growth trees that cant be replaced. Too much fishing may harm fish populations to the point where they cant recover. We are too careless in taking what we want without giving anything back.

There are more people than ever, living longer that ever. So is it any surprise that many areas suffer from too much development? Anyone living in or near a city has experienced "urban sprawl". There is a new shopping area on every corner and new houses, townhouses and apartments everywhere. Traffic gets worse and worse because planners cant keep up with growth. Keeping up with human demand is hard enough. Environmental concerns come in last.

With growth comes pollution. Companies and communities dump waste into water. Landfills are full of trash. Emissions from factories pollute the air. Barrels of industrial waste and worse, radioactive waste, have no safe place to go. If were not careful, we can harm our planet beyond repair.

People need to respect the Earth and try to preserve it. If we dont, what kind of future will we have?

袅袅炊烟中，白墙黛瓦，绿树红花，俨然一派农村新气象。

如今的农村正在出现着翻天覆地的变化，一改往年破旧、脏乱的景象。自从开展“新农村”建设活动以来，出现了新农村景致、新农村设施、新农村不变的淳朴民风。

以融合山水，打造属于农村独特风格的新理念，人民政府作出的一系列措施，都旨在为人民创造更美的环境，更舒适的生活。屋后的小河被围上了乳白的防护带，河中的杂秽被一一清理，还原了罪原始最清澈的面貌，家家屋檐下的墙面也被重新整修一番，向所有人展现着他的雪白与整洁。道路两旁严严实实地载着大树在春天让人们见识到了生命的蓬勃，在夏天让人们感受到了久违的凉爽，在秋天让人们感受到了落叶的壮景，在冬天让人们感受到了顽强的精神，虽是景观，但更多的是给予人们审美上的愉悦和心灵上的震撼。雨季的农村，如远山黛眉一般，浸润着江南的湿意，在齐整改造后的农村身上，显得尤为别致。晴朗天气的农村，散发着独特韵味的农村，在“新农村”活动的开展下，变的愈发美妙。

“新农村”建设，不仅只在农村面貌上进行，也注重了农村男女老少的精神世界和生理健康。从前，农村的孩子们无处进行游戏活动，闲暇时刻又没有条件得到精神上的陶冶，这导致了孩子们缺少茁壮成长的因素也使自己的心灵到不到足够的滋润，可是现在，休闲广场建起了，游乐设施和健身器材也一一完善了。每天清晨，老人们都会迎着朝阳，或慢跑，或跳舞，在他们脸上，我看到了幸福的笑容，在他们身上，我感受到了老来夕阳的活力。每天晚上，完成家庭作业的孩子们便随着他们的父母在广场上玩耍。在幽黑的天幕下，一串串如银铃般的欢笑声不断回荡在耳边，星星似乎也被孩子们的欢笑所感染，变的愈发闪耀。

“新农村”建设全面完成之时，村庄里的居民也变得更加爱护身边的风景和公共设施，见不得身边有垃圾污秽堆积，主动拾捡，主动清理，村庄美丽起来了，人们的心灵也更加美好淳朴。

从脸上洋溢着幸福与欢乐，人民的生活水平也蒸蒸日上。

改革开放以来，农村发生这些变化好像都不足为奇，在党和政府的正确领导和帮助下，也在乡村父老的共同努力下。美丽的家园，和谐社会，人们互帮互助，开展了美好幸福的生活。

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.

In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

仍有许多问题近年来环境保护。最严重的问题之一是严重污染的空气、水和土壤。空气污染给人们的健康带来极大的危害。被污染的水会引起疾病和死亡。更重要的是,植被已大大减少,现代城市的快速增长。

为了保护环境,许多国家的政府已经做了很多。介绍了立法措施控制空气污染,以保护森林和海洋资源,制止任何环境污染。因此,政府在环境保护中扮演最重要的角色。

在我看来,为了保护环境,政府必须采取更具体的措施。首先,它应该让人们充分认识到通过教育环境保护的重要性。第二,更应努力把人口计划生育政策付诸实施,因为更多的人意味着更多的人意味着更多的污染。最后,那些故意破坏环境者的人应该受到严惩。我们应该让他们知道破坏环境就是毁灭人类自己。
