The picture shows the pollution caused by chimneys of the factories in cities. Often, the sky is covered by large clouds of smoke from chimneys. The air is nearly suffocating, especially in the evening as it becomes cold and the smoke is spreading everywhere. The scene reminds us of the end of the world.

From the picture we can infer that the drawer of the picture intends to convey to the readers that unplanned factories has brought about great hazards to the city air condition. Pollution is really a hot issue in the world. If we don’t take useful measures, we may live in terrible surroundings, and some unexpected results may come out in the end. So, what we should do is to bring down the problems caused by chimneys. For one thing, factories with chimneys should be moved out of the center of the city and it should be made sure that the waste gases are at least not poisonous. For another, other means of heating should be developed to stop using coal. In a word, in the city there should be no coal, no chimney, and no smoke to pollute the air.

改革开放30年来，我们的家乡发生了翻天覆地的变化。

首先是我们家乡经济的发展。

随着30多年来的变化，农村已经修起了宽阔、平坦的水泥路，而原来尘土飞扬、颠簸不平的泥路和石子路已经不多了;城市里的大型超市随处可见，马路已经有四车道、六车道等等，就连小区里也普遍装上了电梯，学校的教学设备更先进、更发达。

30多年前，沿海滩涂一片荒凉，长满了密密麻麻的野草，一棵棵杂树纵横交错的站立在海岸上。

With the rapid development of the society, many things around our life are changed. Personally speaking, my hometown has changed a lot.

When I was a child, there was only one black and white TV set in our village. And I don’t know what’s computer. I often went to school on foot. What’s more, in summer, we had to use hand-made fans to make our temperature down. If I wanted to connect with the distant friends or relatives,  the most convenient way is writing letters, which may lost on the way or take a lot of time to reach the destination.

However, nowadays, there are four color televisons in my home and most people have their own computers. And now cars are seen everywhere. In addition, most houses have airconditioning, which can cool the whole house quickly. With the development of cell phone, people can reach each other in a second. They can talk or see each other through cell phone.

As time passes, my hometown has change a lot thanks to the social development. I believe there will be much more changes in the future.

我的家乡以前是很美的，那里山清水秀，河水清澈，鸟语花香。最近家乡建了很多工厂，工厂排出的废气、污水，把很多农作物都毒死了。鱼塘里的水不再清了，很多鱼都死了。那严重的污染，威胁着人们的健康。

后来，人们为了改善环境，就去种植了很多花草树木，打捞鱼塘里的垃圾，投放了很多鱼苗。

十年后的家乡，天蓝了，树绿了，水清了，马路变宽了，一栋栋的新房子也像雨后春笋般建了起来。我的家乡真美啊！

虽然我的家乡出现了许多新的面貌，可有一点却十分的不好，就是赌博。就拿我的爷爷说吧，他整天跑到外面去赌博，有时赌得连饭都不回来吃，他赌就赌吧，但他经常输钱，搞得后来拖了一屁股的债没还，还经常被姑爹他们骂，真是自讨苦吃。

我希望下一次回家乡时，又能看见一些新的面貌。

时代在进步，家乡的变化也很大。

原来破旧的楼房现在都推平了，做了新小区。原来我们真累只要东华东这一家超市，现在可好了，又有了时代超市，近期又开张了商之都。购物更方便了，个更加实惠广泛了。还有东西街繁荣昌盛，没事逛逛也非常好。我们城关小学也建了一个分校，在贵中分校隔壁。

现在我家也搬了，原来所在的芙蓉苑小区，没有保安，车也乱放，环境非常不好。现在所在的汇景小区可好了，每天有保安叔叔看院门，并且不断在小区巡逻。家家户户都有固定的停车位，小区的绿化也很漂亮。

啊，家乡的变化可真大呀！

我的家乡坐落在千年古镇——慈城，我家住在慈城中的妙山村，那是个环境优美，景色宜人，让你感受到大自然芬芳的地方。可当我一看到那条清澈透明的妙山河就回想起那件难忘的事情。

我家旁的那条河，那河中的河的鱼儿自由自在的在游动，水草绿得美丽、绿得旺盛、绿得有生机。从河边向河内望去，河中的小鱼小虾映入眼前。到了夏天这条河是热闹的时候，妇女们在河边洗衣洗菜，儿童们在河中嬉戏玩耍。青年在担水，那水是甘甜的是生活的最好用水。

但是好景不长，河的尽头开起了一个巨大的工厂——金田铜业，他们将废水，污水铜渣等大量流入河中，慢慢的河里的鱼都死去了，水草也变成“黑草”，失去了往日的生机。只要一阵风吹过，水中的臭气到处乱窜，人们无法在这里洗衣服更不能喝水了，许多人家都搬出去住了。妙山村的人民因无法用水向慈城镇汇报这里的情况，镇长知道后对金田公司的污水问题谈话后，公司也认识到了 严重的错误，耗巨资买来处理废水的机器，将没用的废水放入机器，把废水蒸发过滤，变费为宝，二次利用。

河水渐渐的干净起来，水草也慢慢变绿了，河里的鱼儿也多起来了，又恢复了往日的美景。

我相信历经这件事后的人们将保护地球有了更深刻的认识!

Our environment is getting worse and worse now. People throw their garbage here and there. Factories make more and more dirty water that has polluted the rivers and lakes. What should we do?

溪，那条家乡的小溪，陪伴着我度过了一年又一年，一岁又一岁，可如今的小溪——那条不复存在的小溪，令人牵挂。

小溪那美丽的容貌我无法忘记。清澈见底的溪水如小孩般欢快的奔跑着，时不时还调皮的跳几下，遇见石头爷爷也礼貌地帮他清晰身躯，过往的小鱼小虾累了，就躺入小溪姑娘那温暖而狭小的怀抱之中，想着那悦耳动听的摇篮曲，连石头缝儿里的螃蟹也被魔音贯耳，沉醉于其中，无法自拔。周围的绿树红花更衬托了她的美丽：挺拔的大树耸立于溪两侧。绿叶随风而落更显出一种宁静与安详，更像是披上了一件绿纱衣、绿被子。四周花朵都绽放出自己的笑容、扭动着自己优美的身姿，亭亭玉立。

Today the quality of our natural environment has become an
