the author creates, I treat myself as part of the novels, it feels like that I

witness all the incidents. I especially like to read short novels, because I

Throughout history man has changed his physical environment in order to improve his way of life. With the tools of technology he has altered many physical features of the earth. He has transformed woodlands and prairies into farms and made lakes and reservoirs out of rivers for irrigation purposes or hydroelectric power. Man has also modified the face of the earth by draining marshes and cutting through mountains to build roads and railways.

However, mans changes to the physical environment have not always had beneficial results. Today, pollution of the air and water is an increasing danger to the health of the planet. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. Smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. The pollution of water is equally harmful. The whole ecological balance of the sea is being changed and industrial wastes have already made many rivers lifeless.

Now environmental protection is more pressing than ever before. As we know, massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to mans existence. Indifference to these problems will mean committing suicide. Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve environment. 当然，在英语方面，我也是犯了一些原则性的错误。前几天，老师突然在早上检查起了作业，要知道平日里老师是很少用课堂上的时间来做这样耽误时间的事的。可是那天，也是因为我的一些失误，作业有些未完成的没有告诉老师(再说句实话，告诉老师，真的很得罪人，就是因为怕得罪人，所以.....可是，世界上哪里有不自私的人啊?!!)也是被狠批了一顿，并跟着他们被多布置了几遍作业。对此，我很是心服，我也当然知道这是不对的，是害了同学。可是我却是因为怕得罪同学，我觉得这是我思想上的问题，今后我也应当正确承担起课代表应付的责任，真心为同学服务，所以，这也应了一开始我就说的话，老师对一切同学都是一视同仁的!

I live with my father and mother in a very big house in Dongguan. My parents are both very busy. They leave for work very early in the morning and don’t return home until late in the evening.

When I am home on weekends from school, we spend a lot of time together. We talk about my studies, my health and my school life. I love my parents very much.

Many people have favorite places they like to go to when they are feeling
