猫是一种漂亮的小动物，乖巧，驯良，很讨人喜欢。它们身长一般在25厘米至30厘米之间，最小的也有10来厘米。猫绝对不像大象等笨重的动物，它们是十分敏捷的，就是一面墙，它也能想尽办法跃过去，我家的猫就会先跳到洗衣机上，发觉不够，就会再跳到大门上，觉得差不多了，它就一个猛子扑上去，跳过去。

猫虽然不会游泳，但却会表演杂技。如果不幸从楼上摔下去了，它们是绝对不会摔伤的，它们会迅速调整好身姿：先是前爪着地，后半身再向后一甩，玩一下“漂移”，从而安然无恙。

猫的种类很多，总的来说可以分为两大类：一类是纯种猫，只有一种颜色；一类是杂种猫，有两种或三种颜色交配。

猫的种类虽然很多，但是它们的食谱一般是一样的。大多数猫喜欢吃猫粮和鱼肉，小部分喜欢吃老鼠。

猫的寿命也挺长的，一般在十五岁至二十岁，也有超过二十岁的。小猫靠吃母猫的奶长大；它们一胎通常生三四只或五六只；吃奶的时候，大个儿的猫总是占了便宜，吃得最饱，饱食后，它们就会沾沾自喜、得意洋洋，活像一个凯旋归来、以一胜百的大将军。
