I’m a student of Huayang No. 1 Middle School. In front of our school gate is a street, on both sides of which are many shops and restaurants. Every day during rush hour, especially at noon, stalls selling everyday goods and food appear on the street, which makes it terriblycrowded. First, cars and passersby have difficulty in passing through the street. Thus it makes it dangerous for the students to go in or out of school. With the development of industry, water pollution is becoming more serious now. The polluted water not only kills fish, it is also harmful to our health. Many people get sick because they drink the polluted water. In some rivers the water is so dirty that they can even kill plants.

Why this? There are many factories that bring pollution to us. We can not have fresh air in the morning. This is mainly because of the poisonous smoke coming from factories, especially chemical ones. In rivers, seas and oceans, there are industrial wastes. Some factories just throw their wastes into seas or let them flow into rivers. When people drink the water from such rivers, they get poisoned. Besides, there is rubbish from ships and when sometimes an accident occurs in an ocean, oil flows out from tankers.

On land, the accumulation of rubbish in the streets may dirty the city and ruin our health. This is mainly due to the improper disposal of rubbish by people.

If we do mot fight against pollution, surely one day all of us will be killed. Some people like to put the blame on the industrial revolutions. On the contrary, the pollution problem will be solved only with the help of modem science and technology.

Mid-autumn day is a special festival in China, which is one of the

traditional Chinese festivals. Itfalls on the 15th day of august lunar month

every year. Our Chinese will celebrate it on that day. I think there are not too

many people can reject he temptation of it. I like this festival very much. I

have two reasons.

First of all, mid-autumn has the deep meaning of reunite. In china, people

regard mid-autumn day as very important, so no matter where they are, they will

come back to their family if there is a chance. They don’t like celebrate this

festival outside, which will make them feel lonely. Thus, they will go home by

all means. Luckily, the government also pays great attention to this traditional

festival. There are laws to make sure people have holidays in that special day.

In the other word, mid-autumn festival gives a chance for family get

together.

Secondly, every family will prepare a big meal in that day. All the food is

delicious. It is good to have a big meal. I think nobody will not interest in

delicious food. The mooncake is a necessary decoration for mid-autumn day. It

tastes good, too. It is the traditional for a long time. How pleased to enjoy

the glorious full moon with mooncake!

This is why I love mid-autumn festival so much. It is funny and happy

time.

My home village is a beautiful village far from the town. There is a clear brook arcs around the village, making the vil]age like a peninsula.

After that I went to No.6 Middle School of Dalian and graduated this summer. The main subjects ! studied at school included Chinese, Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Computer. I like English and Computer best and I am very good at them. Last year I won first prize in the school computer competition. In my spare time I enjoy listening to popular music and collecting stamps. Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world.

On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in).

Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.
