After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I‘d be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren‘t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, ‘He‘s a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

There is this story about the moon-cake. during the Yuan dynasty China was ruled by the Mongolian people. 真是一个啼笑皆非的故事。实在不懂，中国人有必要全民学英语吗?中国人学英语的意义又是何在?

有人说，学英语是为了与世界接轨。二十一世纪不懂英语就是文盲。WTO，2008奥运会，哪个离的开英文。既然如此，学英语的目的很明确，就是说话。但，为什么英语教学偏偏是以笔答为主?不管是高考中考，口试所占分数永远不及笔试的十分之一。若教学大纲不做要求，口语练习被丢弃也是很有可能的。说白了，中国学生的英语就是读课文和做选择题。

大山代理的“好记星”一代比一代高级。他们的口号是：让学生有个好成绩。原来“成绩”才是一切至高无上的。这才是每个中国学子十年寒窗奋斗的目标!只要你在规定的时间，规定的地方所写的ABCD都是正确的，那就是NO.1。其他什么都无所谓。

这样看来，全民学习英文真是无知的很。而且，真正的英语优秀人才，很少会选择当一位光荣的人民教师。那么，三尺讲台上站这的那位，教些“自制”的方言版英语啊，“误人子弟”啊，也不是没有可能的。

纵观整个世界，将英语列为第二母语的国家还真不少。离我们近的就有日本。不过，该国的英语教学也不敢恭维。否则日本人怎么会把“CHINA”说成“支那”呢?

我们诵读过无数的国学经典,但是在生活中又能有几句国学和你发生了故事呢?

我在十二中上艺科学校.每次上语文课的前十五分钟,老师总会让我们背诵十几句国学,并逐句讲解句意.刚开始,我认为背诵这些国学纯属浪费时间,但是,随着时间的推移,我慢慢改变了这个观点.

那天,老师布置了许多的作业.吃完饭,已经六点了.我匆匆忙忙地跑到书桌前,开始奋笔疾书.我估摸着,写完作业应该就到八点半了.我想：我得快点写,因为还有许多课外班的作业,加油.我再抄写三字经的“亲师友,习礼仪”时,弟弟跑了过来,对我说：“姐姐,我有3道题不会,请你教教我.”我一口否决了,着急地想：我的作业都写不完,还帮你?真荒唐!弟弟会溜溜地走了.我又想了想那句三字经的意思,突然觉得自己放了一个天大的错误——没有“亲师友”,所以立即放下笔,焦急地向弟弟跑去.追到弟弟时,看到他愁眉苦脸,就像他道歉：“小浩,真是对不起,我不应该不帮助你.来,让我看看题!”弟弟开心地笑了.我开始一道一道的给他耐心的讲解.我已经把作业抛到九霄云外了,只是想着给弟弟讲题,让他明白.

那天,我写完学校的作业时,已是九点了,但我一点也不困.我写完课外班的作业时,已是十点了,我却一点也不乏.那天晚上,我的心里比吃了蜜还甜.同时我也比其他同学的理解更深刻,令我终身难忘.

不知道是怎么回事,我刚好抄到了“亲师友,习礼仪”那句国学,就出现了一个巧合的事例.这也许就是我和国学的故事吧!那你呢?

有条蛇在一家农舍的门边打了个洞，并把主人的小孩咬了一口，孩子就一命呜呼。

这对夫妇痛不欲生。孩子的父亲决意弄死那条蛇。第二天，当蛇出洞觅食之时，他举起斧头就砍那条蛇。可惜太操之过急，没砍中蛇头，只砍断了尾巴。

过了一阵子，屋主很害怕那条蛇会以牙还牙，就想同蛇讲和，于是就将一些面包和盐放在洞口。那条蛇发出丝丝的声音作出回答：“从今以后，在我们之间不会有和平。因为我一看到你，就会想自己被砍掉的尾巴;同样当你见到我时， 你会想起你死去的儿子。”

面对伤害过自己的人，我们难以真正忘记有过的创痛。
