The traditional Thanksgiving parade probably started with President Lincoln proclaiming it an official day. The full- dress parade is a way to display the country’s military strength and discipline. The main aim of such parades is to lift the spirits of the spectators, provide them with wholesome entertainment. In the present day, parades are accompanied with musical shows and celebrities.

他知道父亲是来看他的，就跑出了宿舍，看到父亲，心里很难过。他羞得眼眶湿润——爸爸的身体几乎湿透了，头发也被雨淋湿了。可他手里，却是一包干衣服。他知道是这样。给了他，怀着强烈的感激之情，他带着父亲回到宿舍，用手帕擦干。“还习惯吗?”爸爸看着自己孩子气的儿子问道。好在他不想跟父亲说起他在这里的寂寞，只是一时的言语让他无法掩饰。爸爸似乎看出了儿子的想法，然后脱掉了内裤。他拿出几个鼓鼓的东西，说道：“孩子，我认识你，可我为什么不认识?

奶奶的老病还没好，现在妈妈身体不好，你又要读书了，负担一家人都落在了我的肩膀上。但是。我能做什么?不仅仅是我一个人。谁叫我男人?爸爸点了一根烟说：“孩子，忍耐一下，只要你面对它，会发生什么事?”说完，爸爸就要走了，他知道留着他也没用，所以他又来了。泪水告别爸爸。爸爸虽然走了，但他深情的话语在他的心里重复着。终于，他的脸上露出了笑容，他的心终于打开了。以后的日子里，无论遇到什么，他都会坦然面对，因为正如父亲所说：只要坦然面对，结果会怎样?于是他学会了独自面对。

到了青春期，最能证明我们青春的、同时也见证着我们成长的，恐怕就是那烦人恼人的青春痘了。

早上起床在我准备去洗漱时，发现自己的额头上有几个痘痘，好像在说：“哈哈，你的绝世容颜被我毁了。”心里有点气，我眉头紧皱，尽管我知道这是青春的证明，但一想到它们要在我脑门儿上驻扎几天，心中多少还是会有一点懊恼。

我用力地按平我的头发，让它们能紧贴着我的头皮以便遮住我的那几颗痘痘，但是上体育课大风一刮，我便会立马变回原形，那一刻，我烦恼极了。我回到家中，照着镜子，越看越觉得他们碍眼，一时怒火攻心，将额头上的痘痘全挤了个遍，那时，也顾不上皮肉之痛，顾不上眼泪不住地往下淌。

终于大功告成了，可它们开始抗议，又红又肿，更有个别还在往外冒着血。心里有些说不出的烦躁，后来我干脆不管了，让它们自由地生长吧，这样怀着破罐子破摔的心态，过了几个不照镜子的日子。

忽然有一天我发现那群小精灵竟全身而退了，在我漠视它们时它们竟偃旗息鼓了，只留下几个淡淡的痘印，突然觉得，青春痘就好似一面镜子，你对它笑，它就对你笑;你对它哭，它就对你哭，好像生命中的洗礼，将只爱自身表面的人与淡泊外在的人分为两类。而只有淡泊外在，注重内心修养，内分泌似乎才得以平衡。

心里有点喜。喜找到了战胜痘痘的秘方，更喜似乎悟到了一点生活的真谛。时隔多日，当我再次看到那些活泼的青春痘时，我发现自己已经可以“也无风雨也无晴”地淡然处之了。

在生命里总会有一些烦恼，而当我们真正解决他们之后才会发现人生升华与洗礼。

I want to grow up as soon as possible. When I grow up, I can do many things

My grade school days are the most wonderful time I have ever had. In those days I always wanted as eagerly to learn as a dog prowls about in search of food. The teachers taught me not only the three R’s but also the way to observe the world surrounding us. They laid more stress on observation than on memorization. Thus we had much time to talk over and trade our learning experiences. What excited me most during my grade school days, however, was to be out collecting specimens of the butterfly. Once, on a sunny day and after walking a good while, we reached a one began to catch the butterflies with great excitement while the teacher told us about the living habit of them. Though we spent more time in playing than in catching butterflies, we still had a rich collection when we went home, and a rich knowledge of wildlife into the bargain. After I attended junior high school I did not have much of an opportunity to learn the way I did in grade school, but did not regret because we are bound to go through various stages of life. Anyway, my grade school education was the cornerstone of my later learning career and for that single reason, if not for any other, I am grateful to it.
