依据认知规律，学生学习外语的过程可以分为五个阶段：感知语言材料（包括模仿），培养观察能力；理解语言材料（包括识别），培养思维能力；巩固语言材料，培养记忆能力；应用语言材料，培养运用能力；活用语言材料，培养创造能力，巧练，学习英语的“金钥匙”。这五个阶段相互联系，相互促进，很难绝然分开。从教的角度上看，前两个阶段合为一起，称为讲解语言材料；后三个阶段合为一起，称为练习。这样，教学过程实际上就是由讲和练两个大部分组成。学习外语要以练为主，讲练结合。

由此看来，练是学习英语的“金钥匙”。当然，这里的“练”是科学的练，是巧练，而非题海战术。

加强以培养语感为目的的听读训练

敏锐的外语语感是学好外语的重要条件，也是一个人语言素质的重要标南。

但它是在言活动中发展而来的，并且是建立在语言内容而不是语言形式基础上的。

所以从起始年级开始，老师就要有目的、有意识、有步骤地引导学生练听练读，培养外语语感。

练听，具体可分四个步骤：（1）模仿跟读阶段。让学生通过听录音或听老师读，模仿正确的语音或语调，适当讲解意群、连续、弱读、清辅音浊化等语言特征和现象；②辨音会意阶段，英语论文《巧练，学习英语的“金钥匙”》。可以是一组组的单词（如ship／sheep；it／eat；Miss／Mrs；T／G等、），也可以是一组组的句子（如：is this box？／isthis bus？／Are they students？／Are there students？／the glass issmall／The class is small等）。在此阶段教师除加工语言材料之外，还要有意识地让学生在识别数字、时间、日期等方面作专项训练；③技能训练阶段。本阶段主要是以情景会话和短文理解作为听力材料。以上三个阶段应为教师控制下的听力训练；④智能培养阶段。即指导学生独自去听录音、广播。这阶段应属非控制下的听力训练。老师要为学生创造条件，如翻录磁带、告诉学生可以收听什么波段或频率的英语广播等。目前，我国英语教学在初中阶段一般都侧重听说，在课堂上使用直观教具和表演等方法，排除了母语这个中介，这对于培养语感自不必说。但其侧重听力的程度如何直接影响语感的形成和今后整体语言能力的形成和发展，仍是一个值得重视和研究的问题。所以高中阶段仍要加大听力训练的密度和广度。因为初中阶段的语言形式简单便于记忆，语言内容便于感知，在头脑中形成清晰的表象；而高中阶段抽象内容增多，难以形成即刻理解的听力。若不加大训练的密度和广度，就不利于学生在语言接触中自然地内化吸收语言材料，培养语感。

练读。语言材料要多读，尤其是课文---规范化的阅读材料，既可以在理解的基础上出声地朗读，也可以采取默读的方式进行思考。精妙之处要圈圈点点，一方面注意句子结构，另一方面通过语词激发唤起有关表象、再造想象以及各种联想；或者在情感上引起强烈共鸣，或者运用语境和自己的体验品味出言外之意或弦外之音。当然，老师首先应从方法上引导。
