could put up with their standpat thingking and their “feudal rulers”. Thus, the

generation gap becomes more and more obvious and serious. However, why don’t we

realize that opinions can be changed, while people can’t. So, we can think in an

other way, learn to accept. It is certain that we can narrow the generation gap

to live a more harmonious life.

Im the only child in my family, the apple of my parents eyes. my mother

and father take good care of my and give me a lot of support throughout my

life.

My father is the manager of a company and my mother is a teacher. they are

both well educated and do well in their jobs. they know that knowledge is power.

father often communicates with foreign friends and is good at english. i can

learn a lot from him, especially english. his oninion on education is as

advanced as that of my mothers. they often give me advice on my studies but

never interfere in them. they seldom force me to do what i dont like to. they

permit me to have different opinions. if something is good for me, they will

persuade me to do it as they want. many people of our age say that there is a

generation gap between their parents and them. however, it doesnt exist between

us.

My mother is a math teacher. she is very clever and good at teaching. she

can work out a problem within 10 minutes which would cost me 2 hours. i envy and

admire her. i want to be a math teacher like her.

Im lucky to have such enlightened parents. im lucky to have been brought

up in such a happy family.

公交车飞驰在车道上，窗外的景色“呼”的过去，我显得百无聊赖。

“哧——”公交车与地面的摩擦声随之而来，我的身体由于惯性不由自主地向前方座位撞去，我赶忙用手一撑，“好险”，我暗暗的想。长舒了一口气后，我向车门望去，原来是到站了。车门一打开，潮流似的人流蜂拥般向上挤。顿时，车上原来安静的氛围被打破了，安静的人们开始了稍稍骚动。“大家往前挤一挤啊!”司机恰时地亮出来他那大嗓门。刹时，车内一片躁动：埋怨声，脚步声，手机声……人群声接踵而来。“真烦呀!”我小声地咕哝了一声，心里升起了一股莫名的烦躁。

片刻之后，车才缓缓开动。

阳光透过窗户照进车内，车内一片温暖。我无精打采地环顾四周，最终目光定格在她身上。

她大约二十多岁，穿了一身洁白的运动服，身材高挑，有一种亲切的感觉。也许是人群拥挤的缘故吧，她现在正分外吃力地拽着头上的拉环。原本乌黑的眉毛也微微皱了起来，额头上渗出来密密的汗水，刘海也湿透了，纠缠在一起，向被有人揉过似的。但在她的嘴角却还有一抹笑容。尽管她表面上笑了，但是我还是能看出她心中的少许烦躁。也许是我的目光太“炽热”了吧，她竟在人流中冲出我甜甜一笑。

霎那间，我愣住了。那笑容甜美温柔，在人群中层层穿过，轻轻抚慰我那颗躁动的心灵。我的心顿时像是从清水中泡过一样，一股清凉、舒适的感觉弥漫了全身，送走了我体内的火气，哇，好凉快!她那微微一笑犹如圣母般纯洁，久久不能让我忘怀。

车又一次到站了，人群紧接着下去，车内的空气少少流动了一些，人群也不那么拥挤了。这时，只见她松了一口气，用那双灵巧的手比着手语跟她的同伴对话。手语?我揉了揉眼睛，再次望向那不可思议的事情。是，是手语!震惊充满了我的内心，她是个哑巴!回想前面的那个笑容，我觉得她好伟大!

别人如果是个哑巴，兴许大多就自杀了。而她乐观向上，把自己融入这个大集体中，快乐地生活着。再次望向她，她的笑容甜美温柔，她的眼睛明澈清净，她的举手投足之间有一种不可磨灭的魅力，她的心态连我都佩服!

走在回家的路上，她的笑容在我的脑海中久久挥之不去……在记忆的长河中，始终会有一颗璀璨的明珠伴我而行，让我勇往直前，铿锵前行!

Currently, some cities are considering a food ban on subways, which has sparked heated discussion. Some people say food should be banned because of the trash and rats they attract. And, garbage from discarded food can cause track fires. Beyond sanitary and mechanical concerns, food can also cause fights, as was discovered last week by one passenger who criticized a woman eating steamed stuffed bun on the subway.

However, some others are opposed to the idea. They argue that people like eating in the train in the morning because they dont have enough time to eat at their houses or restaurants. Sometimes that may be the only time or meal a transit rider may be able to eat especially when traveling long distances. Besides, there are people, for example diabetics, who do require food at various times to maintain blood-sugar levels.

Personally, Im against the ban because of the huge inconvenience it would cause to commuters, and the expense involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we should have a little common courtesy. I think we all have responsibility to try to treat our subway system and fellow riders with respect, and that extends to food as well.
