天堂法庭正在进行一项特殊审判。三名被告分别是科技界赫赫有名的瓦特、莱特兄弟、爱因斯坦，原告却是三位凡夫俗子。天堂观众云集，过道被塞得严严实实，把偌大的法庭挤得水泄不通。

状告瓦特

“带原告、被告上庭!”上帝重重敲了一下法锤，“原告有何冤屈，请从速讲来!”

原告哭丧着脸说：“上帝，我原本是位安分守己的农夫，只是有一天赶着毛驴去集市，一不小心，那只铁皮怪兽无情地从我瘦小的身躯上碾过，接着我就见到了你。那怪兽的制造者就是他——瓦特。”原告的脸上布满泪水，哽咽着，再也说不下去。

上帝阴沉着脸问瓦特：“被告，你有何申诉?”

瓦特缓缓地站了起来：“亲爱的上帝，他说的没有错。确有许多像他这样的无辜的人死在火车的车轮之下，我为他们祈祷。”瓦特耸了耸肩，话锋一转说道，“也正是火车的发明才使蜗居深山的人们有机会走出山沟，走出封闭;正是火车的存在，才使人们的生活发生巨大变化。世上的人们并没有因为事故而停止火车的使用，相反，火车的使用更加广泛。从蒸汽机到内燃机，从电动机车到磁悬浮列车，上帝，这连我都是始料未及的，我也为人类做了些许贡献。”

上帝惶惑不解，一脸的茫然：“是实情，是实情。”

“上帝，他可是始作俑者，罪不容赦呀。”

状告莱特兄弟

“安静!”上帝敲了一下法锤，“带第二对原告、被告!”

原告未等上帝开口，抢先说道：“我是死于2001年9月11日世界贸易大厦的金融家。我要状告莱特兄弟，是他们，是他们造的飞机要了我的命。两架飞机像导弹一样击中大厦，我闭上了眼睛，‘上帝，保佑我吧!’话未说完，我就见到了您——上帝。”

上帝听到他一口一个“上帝”，心里很是惬意，脸上挂着微笑。

莱特兄弟眼见不妙，朗声说道：“上帝，请你明鉴。飞机的发明，使人们的交通方式发生了质的飞跃，由陆地走向天空，既为人们提供了迅捷便利的交通工具，缩短了世界距离，又产生了巨大经济效益，促进了人们生活水平的提高。我们的贡献有目共睹。至于飞机被用作他途，你应该去找本·拉登。”结尾巧妙地转嫁，令原告瞠目结舌。

“上帝，他要逃脱罪责，他是始作俑者，罪不可恕哇!”

状告爱因斯坦

上帝伸了伸酸痛的肩背，正襟危坐：“带第三对原告、被告。”

第三位原告拄杖而立，转过身面向上帝，毕恭毕敬地鞠了一躬：“我是‘二战’期间被核武器所伤的日本公民，今诉核武器的始作俑者——爱因斯坦。”

爱因斯坦如坐针毡，迫不及待地站了起来：“我忏悔，这是我一生中最大的失误。本意是想快点结束战争，可谁知殃及无辜，给日本人民造成了极大伤害……”爱因斯坦蓬松的头发、疲倦的面容、虔诚的神情激荡着每个人的心灵。

“上帝，他仅仅忏悔是不够的。他造成的后患无穷哇，世界现存的核武器，足可以毁灭人类十几次，何止我们大和民族啊。车裂，车裂也不足为过!”

“比我还狠啊!”上帝心里暗想。

“我愿为此下地狱，若能以此换回人类理智的核利用。”爱因斯坦花白而凌乱的头埋得更深了。

合议庭

在休庭期间，上帝和天使们进行合议。天使趁机把她们掌握的材料呈给了上帝，无声地注视着上帝。上帝则专注着材料：

瓦特发明蒸汽机车，虽有人因此被火车压死，但火车现在已成为人类不可缺少的交通运输工具。

目前，核电站的发电量，足以抵上1000个煤发电站，虽发生过核泄漏，人类仍然越来越垂青核能。

借助科技的力量，人类已经从地球到天空，从天空到太空，尽管和平号空间站已坠为灰烬，挑战者号、哥伦比亚号航天飞机也梦断太空，但中国的“神舟”五号载人飞船的太空之旅已获成功，国际空间站仍在继续建设。

判决书

判决时，天堂法庭被围得水泄不通。

“经合议庭合议，原告诉被告罪名不成立，被告当庭释放。诉讼费由原告承担。”

科学家们如释重负地走下被告席。三位原告却哭天抢地，大呼不公，并表示要继续上诉，讨回自己的公道。
