In my understanding, if we refer to an ideal college life as a formal western dinner, then a high GPA, that is, Grade Point Average, should be the main course, while an active part in activities, together with associations, means the appetizer. Some romances, of course, play the role as desserts. They are the 3 key elements for an ideal college life.

Those, however, are not what college life is all about. As we all know, college is wildly different from middle school. It connects not only adolescence to adulthood, but also the ivory tower to the real society. Therefore, the ideal college life is that I become matured both physically and mentally, and that I obtain qualified academic knowledge and get well prepared for society at the same time.

Under this circumstance, I never expect my college life to be too ideal, or you can call it too perfect. I had a great time during my winter vacation. The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my homework equally according to the holidays so that I can finish all of them in time. As a Senior Grade Three students, I am very busy in preparing for the college entrance examination. I have seven classes a day, and two self-study classes at night. And only a day left for the weekend. So, most of the time I have to spend on the study, after all the college entrance examination is very important for almost all of us. Aside of study, I would play football with my friends after school and the weekend. I like playing football very much. When I run on the football field, I can put the examination thing off my mind for a while, only sweat and laugh left. It is a good exercise for health and a good way to relax from the busy study too. Nowadays,owing to the convenience of transport ,more and more people feel like emigrating to foreign countries.Although it may be exciting to drop your family in a totally unfamiliar place,subsequently the problem appears.Which kind of people in the neighborhood do you long for ,the different race or the same? For me,I prefer the latter.The reasons are as follows.

Firstly,there is no doubt that most of the people tend to spend almost entire life in just one familiar city.They know every street,every corner and every store.If they have something repaired,they know the right place to go.But now,everything changes in the new place.So it is hard for emigrants to adjust in physiology and psychology.What is worse,there is even no friends who can provide enough support.In this situation,naturally the instinct drives them to live with others of their own ethnic background.Because the same race always means similar diet,similar language and habit.Under the circumstances,emigrants are able to adapt to the new environment easily.Otherwise,the conflict resulting from the complete contrast certainly arises.It results in the bad influence on the quality of life.That is what we do not want to confront.Why do we desire to emigrate? We just expect to lead a better life.

Secondly,the emigrants always go with the whole family including the elder.As we all know,after retirement,it is usually that the aged chat with each other about things in the past.For them,talking about trivialities is an essential and necessary way to enjoy themselves.However,assuming that persons around them are different ethnic in the new community,how can our parents or grandparents communicate with neighbors.After all,in accordance with the statistics,over seventy percent of the elder cannot speak foreign language especially in Asia.In addition,the fact that the majority of emigrants coming from Asia is well-known.Therefore,how to help the aged avoid loneliness is a serious problem which should be solved in time.I reckon that the best way is to live with people of the same race.Thus all old men benefit from the familiar language.Or,if they have nothing to do but to stay at home all the day,the harmony of the family will be affected sooner or later.

All in all,in my opinion,the more familiar,the better.So emigrants ought to live with others of their own ethnic background.

There is a famous saying goes like that “Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.” This saying shows the relationship between knowledge and practice vividly.

As far as we know, if we don’t have corresponding knowledge of some fields, we cannot do well in the fields. There are innumerable examples to illustrate this point. For instance, a singer can sing well only if he or she possesses musical knowledge; a dancer can dance well only if he or she knows how to dance; a worker can get the job well-done only if he or she is familiar with the basic principles of the job, and so on. But in turn, if we do not apply what we have known to practice, knowledge cannot play its role. For example, if we have learned different methods of cooking vegetables, but we do not cook, then the different methods of cooking vegetables do not produce value for us.

Therefore, if we do not have knowledge, we have nothing to practice, but if we have knowledge without putting it into practice, knowledge is of no avail. So we should acquire as much knowledge and put it into practice.

在这个阴雨蒙蒙的秋季，我又上学了。不过这回是离开那个曾经承载过我的快乐和忧伤的高中，搭上去西安的列车--然后上大学。

我的学校在南郊，远离市区，这多少让我有点失落。记得报名那天，天空很适时地下着毛毛雨，跟大家的心情真是绝配。我突然间想到了退学，然后回家补习......因为很难过，学校太偏僻了，感觉很伤感。不过只是想想，开开玩笑罢了，走到这一步就无法回头了。

军训，最难忘的是连长的歌唱得很好听，还有就是晚上十几个营的娃娃坐在一起拉歌。大家就像是一家人!这首先教会了我和同学和睦相处。因为太认真，不会学别人偷懒，所以我的脚在训练时候磨破了，腿也拉伤了。其实我不在意这点小痛，虽然我是女生......我明白，长大的过程是痛苦的。就像蚕化茧，茧化蝶一样痛苦。这又教会了我坚强和诚实。

记得军训前一天晚上首长安排的任务：每人写一份军训决心书!我就说其实我挺害怕的，因为有听哥哥姐姐们说过军训很苦。不过我不会当逃兵的，我会好好配合连长，认真学习每个动作。我决心挑战自己!结果我真的做到了，虽然最后因为个子低被刷掉了，但我还是被评上了优秀个人。我很骄傲!不仅是因为这个奖，更是因为我学会了勇敢面对，而不是以前那样只是逃避。

my imagination. The first word is fast. In the future, we will have more quickly

somewhere outer space. People may can live in other planets. The second word is

convenient. Because of the fast development of our society, many work can be
