Mothers Day Mother’s Day is a holiday when children honor their mothers with

cards, gifts and flowers. In many countries, such as Denmark, Finland, Italy,

Turkey, Australia and the US, people cel lebrate Mother’s Day on the second

Sunday in May while many other countries of the world celebrate their own

Mother’s day at different times through out the year.

One of the best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day is to give your mom the day

off. Let her relax with the rest of the family doing all the housework. Usually,

dad and the kids will let mom sleep late that morning as they go into the

kitchen to prepare her favourite breakfast. Never forget to place a vase with a

single flower on the table beside the food. The kids can pick up the flower from

the garden or buy one from the shop. Arrange everything nicely before mom wakes

up. Some families will carry the food and mom’s favourite sections from the

newspaper to her bedroom so that mom can have breakfast in bed. Presents and

cards from the kids can be handed to mom by themselves or just placed on the

dining table.

After breakfast, go anywhere mom likes to go. Shopping, swimming or going on

那是我上小学六年级时，我参加了每天的篮球体能训练。

参加的头几天，教练李老师给我们讲了几大要素：力量、速度、协调、耐力。前三项大家都还正常，第四项也是最后的考试了。本来第四项第一次是4圈，我们轻松地跑完了。接下来几天，则是8圈、10圈，相比前次，大家都有些受不了了！不能停止，不可慢步啊！头天中午，老师安排了12圈，我们都是勉强跑完的，休息了10分钟还有些累，那一天——我自己第一次超越极限，克服了困难！

She said everything would be better someday. Now I have made progress and when I

English has become an international language that people can communicate with

each other in many countries. On the other hand, if we learn English well, we

could get more chance of success.

My mom used to say that I was born to swim. But the truth is that I didn t know how to swim until the last year of my primary school!

Mom always said that I could swim in the basin when I was only two months old. I was surprised at the amazing fact. If this was true, then why was I afraid of water? I went to swim every summer, but I didn t make a little progress. I was worried and blamed myself several times. When I watched people swimming freely, how I wished I had learnt to swim!

The story of how I learnt to swim is dramatic. One hot summer afternoon, my father and I went to the swimming pool to swim. While my father was changing his clothes, I was roaming along the bank of the pool. Suddenly I heard a voice, Look out! and then came a big noise and beautiful splashes. Recently, I have seen an impressive film –Precious, which tells the growing

experiences about a pretty fat black girl, Precious Jones, a girl living in the

Harlem. The film reveals the poor and miserable life in the Harlem, but at the

same time, it encourages people to take a positive and optimistic attitude to

face it, no matter how difficult it is.

Precious is so undereducated that she can not read and write formally.

What’s worse, she is usually knocked around by her irascible mother. Worst of

all, she is sexually assaulted by her stepfather and has two children before the

age of seventeen. Owing to the situation she gets involved, she has to leave

school and is introduced to alternative school. After waging many struggles and

overcoming many difficulties, she finds the goals of life again with the help of

her teacher and classmates.

In the film, Precious insists on keeping her children all the time though

she gets involved in trouble. She has a firm belief that she can get rid of the

past life and start the new one and she really makes it finally. Her insistence

tells me that keeping positive and optimistic would make a great contribution to

achieve dream.

In life, many people are easy to feel frustrated by meeting a bit of

那时，我刚补习回来，一回家就迫不及待地推出自行车，猛地骑上去，但还没有走一米远，我就重重地摔在坚硬的地板上，腿上还开了一朵“红花”。我咬了咬牙，心想：好痛啊！早知道我就不夸下海口说今晚要学会骑自行车了。照这样下去，学会骑自行车我不得不千疮百孔，现在打退堂鼓也来不及了！这样一来，恐怕我又要被朋友们嘲笑了，他们会说我太胆小了，只不过是摔了一跤而已，就半途而废！于是又小心翼翼地骑上去了，我现在内心很纠结，好像心里有两个小人在吵架，一个小人说：“还是大胆骑吧！不经风雨，难见彩虹，如果你不付出努力，怎么会成功呢？”令一个小人马上反驳道：“你知道个屁啊！骑自行车很危险的，你也不想想，他的腿都已经擦破皮了，如果再下去就是头破血流啦！”第一个小人听后马上回击道：“为什么你现在这么胆小，你的性格原来不是这样的啊！这样你永远都骑不了自行车！”我觉得他说得有道理，便咬咬牙坚持下去。

后来我又摔倒了几次，妈妈见我态度坚决，便传授我一招：“骑自行车要稳住平衡，两眼直视前方，两脚均衡地使用力气，控制自行车前进。”我想了想，似懂非懂地骑上了车，不一会儿又摔在了地上，另一条腿也破了一个大口子，疼痛难忍的我又有点想放弃了，可是转念一想：不经一番彻骨寒，怎的梅花扑鼻香？这是先苦后甜的道理。于是我咬紧牙关，又翻身上车，继续练了起来。就这样，我经历了无数次的摔倒，终于学会骑自行车了。

很快，我就能骑着自行车到处兜风了，我边骑边自豪地喊：“我终于战胜了困难”。

俗话说的好：困难像弹簧，你强它就弱，你弱它就强。在日常生活当中，我们遇到的困难很多，一部分人都被困难吓倒了，有的垂头丧气，有的皱起了眉。可另一部分人却勇敢地面对困难，想方设法地克服困难，最终战胜了困难。当我读了《苦儿流浪记》后，我有了很深的感触。

《苦儿流浪记》是法国十九世纪著名作家马洛写的一部儿童小说。讲的是一个叫雷米的男孩，他被养父卖给了江湖卖艺人，他离开了巴布兰妈妈，开始了浪迹天涯的生活。他认了江湖卖艺人做主人，在流浪途中，他经历了许许多多的苦难，但始终抱着坚定的信念，凭着坚强的意志，战胜了困难，终于找到了自己的亲身父母和朋友，过上了幸福的生活。看到这里，我不禁被雷米敢于战胜困难的精神感动了，同他比起来，我在生活中、学习里碰到的困难简直无法同他相比，可我每一次遇到困难，都不像小雷米一样决心要克服困难，我却差点退缩了，想起来真是惭愧!

记得有一次，爸爸说好要跟我一起去爬山。第二天，我们很早就起来了，来到瓦屿山公园，因为那里也有山，爬上去就直接上了东辉阁。那里的山虽然不算斜，但只要一不留神就滑下去了，我跟着爸爸一起爬了上去，可是爬到中央的时候，我一不小心，滑了下去，幸好，我抓住了一棵大树，才幸免于难。我一手抓着树，一手向爸爸招手，可刚要大声说：“我不爬了。”时，我又把这句话咽回肚子里了，心想：爬山有什么好怕的，怎么可以轻易退缩呢，何况这是一座小小的山。因为当时正直夏天，山上蚊子很多，我爬着爬着，看到眼前的一堆蚊子，怕了，本想不再爬了，但爸爸说，蹬上山顶就可以看到无限美丽的风光，更何况又可以锻炼身体，何乐而不为呢?我鼓起勇气，爬了上去。站在东辉阁上，我还看到了我的学校呢!

“困难”，每当人们听到这两个字眼，不是心烦就是头疼，觉得有困难很难解决掉，人的一生不可能是一帆风顺的，总会经历坎坷。即使你真的遇到困难也不用害怕，就当它是对你的一种考验。只有经得起考验的人，才是一个成功者。再说，“未经过风雨怎能见彩虹”不去尝试怎么就知道自己没有能力解决困难呢，对待困难，我们一定要以乐观的心情来对待它。

《苦儿流浪记》使我知道了困难也不过如此，对于勇敢的人，再大的困难也经得起风浪。
