敬爱的老师，亲爱的同学: 大家好! 2012年11月召开的中国共产党第十八次全国代表大会。我们从学校教育、从新闻媒体和大人的谈论中了解到，这是一次继往开来、具有重大意义的会议。 十八大重要意义，不是我们小学生都能马上全部领会和理解的。但是十八大以后我和周围的许多人一样感受最深切的一点，就是中央提倡的“例行节约，反对浪费”取得了显著的效果，受到了广大群众的好评。 我们中华民族本来就有勤俭节约的优良传统。可是随着生活条件的改善，现在日子好了，钱也多了，有些人花钱开始大手大脚花钱了，也有些人觉得苦日子过够了现在该享福了。我们不反对享受生活，日子过好一点，但前提是不浪费。

恰逢年关，往常，酒店等一些场所很是热闹，有许多单位聚在一起公款吃喝、互相送礼，这正是浪费的高发期。电视里有时会放一些镜头，大致是讲在酒店里，吃饭的人走后餐桌上还有大盘大盘几乎没有动过的菜，也没有人打包，被服务生无奈的倒进了泔水桶。看着直让人心疼。 可是今年这种现象得到了有效的控制，在外面公款吃喝的少了，从大人嘴里了解到，许多单位都取消了公款年夜饭;就是亲戚朋友聚会在外面吃饭点菜时也注意了，点的菜少了，菜如果吃不完也开始打包了。浪费现象明显变少了。只是苦了那些饭店，生意明显下降。我们家小区门口有一家礼品店，本来现在正是高峰期，可今年却没什么生意。 还有一件事也让我体会到节约处处都在，那就是放鞭炮。中华民族喜欢喜庆热闹，过年放爆竹更是古老的传统，但是过度了就不好了。

往年的除夕夜和初五凌晨炮声不断，吵得人一夜都睡不好。烟花爆竹过度燃放，不仅噪音污染，还造成了大气环境的污染，而且还不安全，每年都有燃放烟花引发火灾的事故，更重要的是——过度燃放也是一件很大的浪费。现在一些大的烟花价格都很贵的，听织里一带的亲戚说，他们那里年初五迎财神有的放烟花爆竹要花到几千元甚至上万元的钱，许多单位也在新年上班的那一天放炮仗——那当然也是用公款。今年春节前，网络上有倡议减少烟花燃放，政府部门也做出了规定，情况就好多了。除夕夜放过一阵子就可以安静地入睡了，初五凌晨放炮仗的人也少了，春节期间湖城事故少了，空气也明显好了。

听妈妈说，今年初七上班各个机关单位也不放炮仗了，这也是一种节约。 “例行节约，反对浪费”，看来并不难做。同学们，让我们行动起来，节约，从身边的小事做起>

A Day to Remember

It was Sunday. Our teacher Mr Zhu led us to a park nearby.Usually we go to the park to spend our holiday. But today we went there to take part in voluntary labour.

We got there at nine oclock. Mr Zhu divided us into three groups and then we began working.

The students in Group One planted trees and watered flowers. The studentsin Group Two were busy collecting litter left by the tourist. They also cleaned the benches in the park. I was in Group Three. We went to the childrens playground and cleaned all the equipment there. We worked very hard.

At about eleven we finished working. We met at the gate of the park. We all felt tired but very happy.
