书，让我学会课本之外的指令，让我学会做人，学会学习。“秘书是人类进步的阶梯”这句名言是真理！人们通过书籍学习知识，看到世界的美、善、丑。是人类走向荣耀巅峰的阶梯。

“书籍是人类进步的阶梯”这句话将永远铭记在我心中。我相信这句话可以改变我一生的命运，让我享受阅读。

Work and play do not contradict each other; in fact, they complement each other. As the saying goes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." A life burdened with work leads you nowhere, for you would get tired and bored with your daily routine work. On the other hand, proper recreation will relieve the tension and discomfort of our monotonous life because it offers you various ways to let out your pent-up emotions.

What I usually do to relax after school is jogging and seeing movies. Usually I dont spare time for exercise, but I value the physical education class at school. Jogging several rounds in the field certainly relieves the days pressure. On weekends, Ill catch the morning movie for my visual enjoyment. I feel revived and energetic for another weeks work-load.

放学之后，我最常做的休闲活动，便是慢跑与看电影。通常我并不特地拨出时间来做运动，但是我很重视学校的体育课。在操场上慢跑几圈，无疑地可以减轻一天的压力。在周末时，我都去看早场电影，享受视觉飨宴。如此一来，我将有如再生般的充沛活力，去面对下一星期的工作量。

读《昆虫记》一书，我仿佛走进了一个神秘而多姿多彩的世界，而了解蜘蛛、蜜蜂、螳螂、甲虫、蝉等昆虫的生活习性，让我看到了一幅有关昆虫的精彩画卷。

读“帮忙的甲虫往往不怀好意，更多时候，它是打着帮忙的幌子，做着趁火打劫的营生”这句话，让我知道了原来甲虫也是非常的狡猾;读“四年苦工，才能换来几十天重见光明的生活”，我知道了蝉的生命意义;“天气越来越冷了，迷宫蜘蛛用尽最后一点力气替孩子们将巢咬破，而它也筋疲力尽而死”这句话，又让我体会到了它的满足感和一位母亲应尽的全部责任。

蟋蟀为什么能弹出那么动听的歌声呢?别以为蟋蟀的“乐器”有多复杂，其实蟋蟀的乐器很简单，蟋蟀的弓上的一百五十个齿，嵌在翅膀对面的梯级里，使四个发声器同时震动，下面的一对直接摩擦，上面的一对是摆动摩擦的器具。它只用其中的四只发声器就能将音乐传到几百米以外的地方，可以想象这声音是如何的洪亮!蟋蟀有着钢铁般的意志，法布尔曾想把蟋蟀的左翅膀盖在右翅膀上，让蟋蟀变成左撇子。可是第二天，法布尔发现这昆虫竟如常活动，这坚强的意志，实在不可低估。

读完这本书，让我不仅能了解到昆虫世界的真实面目，更能发现大自然中蕴含着无穷奥秘。

记得有一次在家门口看见一群蚂蚁排着长长的队伍在前进，没头没尾的，不知在干嘛，便心慈手软的撒些面包渣儿给它们吃，它们就立刻扛起这些食物，似乎很高兴的往回走，多么渺小的幸福呀!看着它们搬运的是我的东西，就觉得自己做了件大善事。《昆虫记》中说：“红蚂蚁既没有任何劳动技能，也不会抚育儿女，为了生存，它们就野蛮的掠夺黑蚂蚁的儿子，强迫这些俘虏为自己劳动……

黑蚂蚁?它们可真是可怜!也许，它们那时正为了找寻一个安全的环境在为小蚂蚁们搬家;或者，它们正是一群紧急的救援兵，有可怜的小生命正等着它们去救;又可能它们正在找食物回去哺育它们的孩子?人生真是奇妙，你不知道，下一秒你将错过什么!

《昆虫记》这本书教会了我很多，它让我也懂得了对生命的尊重与热爱。让我明白，这些昆虫不论是大还是小的，丑的还是俊的，但它们都是可爱的，值得我们去保护的。我们也要学习法布尔探索世界、坚持不懈的勇气和毅力，做任何事都应该锲而不舍。

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock, and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one oclock in the afternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in. The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten. Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it. The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas holidays comes to an end.
