中秋节是我国的传统节日之一，与春节、清明节、端午节称为中国汉族的四大传统节日。中秋节这天人们都要吃月饼以示“团圆”。月饼，又叫胡饼、宫饼、月团、丰收饼等，是古代中秋节祭拜月神的供品，后来人们逐渐把中秋赏月与品尝月饼，作为一家团圆的象征。

我的户口所在地是哈尔滨，但我是生于苏州，而且我还在苏州上学，所以我已将苏州作为我的第二故乡了。

还记得我在二年级时过的那个中秋节，特别让我难忘。因为我家的亲人都在遥远的北方，所以我们就邀请了我的好朋友项载轩一家一起过中秋节，因为他也是外乡人，而且他的爸爸妈妈也是我爸妈的好朋友。吃过早饭后我们就去采购了，买了好多好吃的东西。下午我们一家就去了苏州最美的村庄――旺山村找项载轩了，他爸爸在那里开了一个酒楼。我们骑车、玩水、做游戏，特别高兴。晚上我们同项载轩一家还有他爸爸酒店的员工一起去旺山茶博园吃烧烤、吃月饼、赏月，爸爸妈妈和我给爷爷、姑姑、大姨、二姨分别打了电话表示祝福和思念。那天我一直很兴奋，我们直到很晚了才回家。

早上起来，窗外阳光灿烂，妈妈说：“今天是中秋节，我们去爬石峰山，这将是一个不一样的中秋节。”我立刻打起十二分精神，心里想：太好了！

Festival is a folk Festival.In the past,the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor

Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush

that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set

out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a familys home

altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory

is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing

food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the

honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the

spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and

spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good

harvests and more children.

Childhood is often regarded as a memorable and beautiful period of one’s life and I passed it happily as a grade-school student. My grade school days were really carefree ones. I got along well with my classmates and On holidays we strolled along the street visited the park and shared one another s candies The teacher of our class was a patient woman who took pains to teach us how to behave and often accompanied us to play games after class-games which were enlivened by songs prattle and laughters. Chusok ("fall evening") is a Korean "Harvest Moon" (Han-gawi) festival set

on the 15th day of the eighth lunar moon. Chusok (韩国中秋节)， also known as the

Korean Thanksgiving or Mid-Autumn Festival， is one of the most celebrated Korean

holidays. It occurs during the harvest season. Thus， Korean families take this

time to thank their ancestors for providing them with rice and fruits.

The celebration starts on the night before Chusok and ends on the day after

the holiday. Thus， many Korean families take three days off from work to get

together with family and friends.

The celebration starts with a family get-together at which rice cakes

called "Songphyun" (蒸糕) are served. These special rice cakes are made of rice，

beans， sesame seeds， and chestnuts. Then the family pays respect to ancestors by

visiting their tombs and offering them rice and fruits. The Koreans visit the

graves of their ancestors to bow and clean the area for the coming winter. In

the evening， children wear their favorite hanbok (traditional Korean clothing)

and dance under the bright moon in a large circle. They play games and sing

songs. Like the American Thanksgiving， Chusok is the time to celebrate the

family and give thanks for their blessings.

Community activities include masked dance， Kanggangsuwollae， an ancient

circle dance， tug-of-wars and the tortoise game， kobuk-nori (乌龟游戏)， in which two

men dress as a tortoise and tour the village dancing and performing for food and

drink. Most of all， Chusok is a time to give thanks for the autumn harvest and

reaffirm familial and community ties.

April 1st is the holiday April Fools also known as “All Fools Day.”Its exact origin is not known, because there are so many stories as to why it started. The most plausible tale is that New Years Day in France used to be April 1st, but the King changed it to January 1st. Not everyone accepted this change for several years and those who didn’t were scoffed as fools, thus the term April Fools.

Today people from many parts of the world are recognizing and celebrating April 1st in their own unique way. Here at International school is a fruitful student body from all over the world.
