The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most important holidays in the Chinese calendar (the other being the Chinese Lunar New Year), and is a legal holiday in several countries. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date.Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together. Mooncake is often eaten during the festival.Typical mooncakes are round or rectangular pastries, measuring about 10 cm in diameter and 4-5 cm thick. A thick pasty filling is surrounded by a relatively thin (2-3 mm) crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Mooncakes are rich, heavy, and dense compared with most Western cakes and pastries. They are usually eaten in small wedges accompanied by Chinese tea.

The Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn is a very important Chinese festival. It falls on the 15th day of August. A few days before the festival, everyone in the family will help to make the house clean and beautiful. Lanterns will be hung in front of the house.

On the evening there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try to come back for the union. After dinner, people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily.

Dragon Boat Festival is a Chinese traditional festival. It falls on the

and grandmother began to make zongzi. Of course, I would act as assistant. But

it turned out that I was more of a hindrance than a help. When they finished,

they started to cook them. This process needed a long time, because I could have

them in the next day. Zongzi was very delicious. On the day of dragon boat

festival, our family prepared for dinner after having breakfast. Everyone of my

family will come back home for the solid diet. Chicken is indispensable on the

dinner desk in Chinese traditional festival. There were many delicious foods,

which made me watering. I ate lots of them. It is a wonderful festival.

This summer, I move to a new city with my parents, and I transfer to a new

school. I used to live in the countryside, so my new life is so different from

before. The school is a little far from my home, so I go to school by bus. After

school, I have many activities in school. Classmates are friendly to me. I learn

English now. Its so interesting that I like it very much. Besides, life in city

is different. There are many interesting places to go. At weekends, my parents

take me outside. We go to the park, the zoo or go shopping. But we are not so

关于中秋节的来由，前人大致有两种看法：一种认为中秋与秋社有关。周云锦、何湘妃合撰的《闲情试说时节事》一文中说：“或许是因为我国是个农业国家，家事和季节有很大的关系，古人在播种的时候，就祀土地神祈求丰收，而在收成时也祀土地神报告丰收，答谢神祗的护佑。前者叫做春祈，后者叫做秋报。八月十五是稻子成熟的季节，这一天各家拜的也是土地，很可能中秋节，就是秋报的遗俗，经过后人踵事增华而渐渐盛大起来。”另一种说法认为中秋与古代的祭月风俗有关。今人徐杰舜、陈顺宣合著的《中国的风俗》一书中说：“中秋节的起源可能与古代对月的原始信仰有联系。我国古代神话中有女娲捧月的故事和嫦娥奔月的故事。

《礼记·祭法》中就有夜明，祭月也的记述。秦汉之前的礼仪中，就已经有秋分之夜，天子到国都西郊月坛祭月的规定，北京的月坛，就是明清皇帝祭月的场所。从唐诗写中秋的.诗中，已看到当时已经把嫦娥奔月神话故事与中秋赏月联系在一起了。到宋朝，节日活动已很盛大，南宋时杭州因为中秋赏月，此夜天街买卖，直到五鼓，玩月游人， 婆娑于市，至晓不绝。”

一年一度的中秋节终于到了!中秋节是我国的传统节日。在这团圆的日子里，我们去外婆家过中秋节。

I often go to see my grandma and grandpa during winter vacation. They are both seventy years old and live in the country happily. I can do many interesting things there.
