窗外雨淅淅沥沥地下着，这时，看书便是一件惬意的事。我找来找去，一本《山河之书》引入眼帘，似乎正是我要寻找的宝贝。哇，黑色的封面显得既神秘又隆重。《山河之书》，听这名字，多么气势磅礴，我迫不及待地打开书本，一下子被里面的内容吸引住了。

本书的作者余秋雨不追逐高官厚禄，毅然孤身一人冒着危险去考察我国重要遗址和文明故地，实在令人佩服。他的书也同样散发着伟大的气息，不禁让人拍案叫绝。此书主要讲了余秋雨考察各地后引发了一些感想，并发表了对古今事物的赞扬与批判。

本书分好几个章节，每个章节又细分成几部分。其中最吸引我的是《我本是树》这一章。它主要讲了苗族人作为蚩尤的后代崇拜枫树，爱护树木，人树合一。这里的人出生时，父母为他种一棵树，死后，村人砍下树，用树皮裹着遗体埋葬，再在上面种一棵树。因此，在这里，人即是树，树即是人，人树合一，人们怎能不爱护树？

“生也一棵树，死也一棵树。”这林中的树，是苗寨人的证婚人；这林中的树，就是苗寨人自己。这种朴素的想法和做法，留下了一片净土，酿造了一片绿荫，吐出了新鲜的空气，净化了数代人的心灵。

如果我们每个人脑海里都有如此想法，世界该是多么美好，树木该是多么高大，沙尘暴、泥石流、龙卷风也许就从此销声匿迹。

综观香港的树木问题，可以归纳出「五宗罪」：

1. 种植太多外来品种，如台湾相思，漠视本地自然生态；

2. 价值观倾向以为种树便可补偿砍掉的树木，而非尽量在原地保留树木；

3. 对保护林木的法律保障不足，不能阻吓破坏树木的人士或机构，尤其对於一些较大规模的发展商或机构，即使他们屡次破坏树木，社会亦束手无策；

4. 用石屎包封树根，此举阻碍了水份及养份的输送，树木难以健康成长；

5. 管理不善—政府把部分树本护理的工作外判，但外判商普遍没有足够护理树木的知识，欠缺定期树木检查、胡乱修理树枝，随便砍掉大风吹倒的大树等等，都是常见的错误树木管理。

这些问题存在已久，实在值得政府部门及公众反思，并且尽快找出良策，及时保护我们珍贵的树木资源。
