The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Secondly， I11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day。 Look!Theres a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly。 All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air。 They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky。 That is a family reunion dinner。 The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family。 I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world。

Thirdly，it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day。 My wishes are: the first， I， an astronaut in the future， would like to go to the moon one day， and stay with the sky and stars; the second， I hope every person in the world will stay with family， share love from the family forever; the third， I hope everybodys dream will e true。

That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind。 I will always re-member: East or West， home is best。

hands. But the most important things is that I can receive the advanced

My mom used to say that I was born to swim. But the truth is that I didn t know how to swim until the last year of my primary school!

Mom always said that I could swim in the basin when I was only two months old. I was surprised at the amazing fact. If this was true, then why was I afraid of water? I went to swim every summer, but I didn t make a little progress. I was worried and blamed myself several times. When I watched people swimming freely, how I wished I had learnt to swim!

The story of how I learnt to swim is dramatic. One hot summer afternoon, my father and I went to the swimming pool to swim. While my father was changing his clothes, I was roaming along the bank of the pool. Suddenly I heard a voice, Look out! and then came a big noise and beautiful splashes. An Enlightening Night

That was really an unforgettable night.I was waiting for buses at the station.There came an old lady, who was running to catch the bus.However,she was knocked down by a bike and the rider just ran away.The first thing came to my mind was the famous Pengyu’s incident,which shocked the ethic line of our society.All of a sudden,I was in a dilemma.I worried that I may be involved in troubles if I gave a hand to the

elderly,as Pengyu’s incident was like a warning.So I was frozen.What surprised me most was that a passer-by girl,rushing across the street without hesitation,putting the old lady on her back and carrying her to a hospital nearby.At that moment,I felt so embarrassed and ashamed that I wanted to crawl a hole and never come out.She was just a student but she did something what an adult like me was afraid of.

Never in my dream did I imagine that girl could have such an impact on my view of moral obligation.From then on,I decide to help strangers who is in need without hesitation and reservation.Because only in this way can our society become more harmonious.From my perspective,that little girl teaches me a lot that night.The

conscience of the many outweighs the wicked behaviors of the few.That’s what we should keep in mind no matter what we experience.

The happiest memory in my childhood was making snowman with my friends. As

I was a little boy, I always went out with my friends to make snowmen and play

with snow when it snowed heavily. We divided ourselves into several groups, two

or three people in each group. Then, we began to make our own snowman. We used

buttons to be snowmans eyes and carrots for its nose. After making our snowman,

we compared ours with others’ to decide whose snowman is the best. Sometimes, we

wrapped our scarfs around snowmen or put our caps on their head, so as to make

our snowman more beautiful. The last time I making a snowman was when I was in

university. But it snowed rarely these years. Thus, making snowman has become

the long-lost fun for me. How I hope it would be snowy this winter!
