While we were there, it was required that we speak only English to our teachers and with each other. There were many activities which were funny and helped us to strengthen our oral English skills, such as, the Second Annual National Debate for Middle School Students,the Third National English Speech Competition for Middle School Students and English parties. “书中自有黄金屋”。现代社会是财富取决于知识的时代，以知识来换取财富，这样说应该更准确些吧。由此可知，要想在社会中立足，知识是必不可少的一部分，这便关系到了读书的问题，读书就是接受教育，教育是社会的一个功能，让学生掌握知识学常识，以投身于社会，但读书不仅只带来外在的财富，更多还是内在的涵养。

“书中自有颜如玉”。仔细观察，一般的文者都是文质彬彬，一表人才，这是因为他们受到了那些美文熏陶，由内而外的气质也得到了陶冶，享受读书的过程，将文字转为了情景，仿佛自己身临其境，其美景令人心旷神怡，陶冶情操，这也是读书的一大优点啊！

除了要读书，我们还应会读书。就像冰心所说的“好读书，读书好，读好书”，顾名思义就是要读有质量的书，汲取其中精华，那么，我们到底该怎样读书呢？

读书应注重良读，归根结底读书最后还是为了与人沟通，一口好口才可以拉近人与人之间的距离，将你所听到的，看到的用声音表达出来。达到字正腔圆的地步，读书的真正目的也就显现出来了。

读书应注重理解。用心去感受作者写的每一个字，从字里行间去发现作者的情感，结合自己的感受与理解，借鉴作者所有听写作手法，会禁不住感叹，每一个人写的都是自己的生活，若不认真地去理解感受，怕是读了无数遍也看不出个之乎者也。

读书更应注重修养。用外在的因素来改变内在因素，是很不容易的，但在享受这现代文明的同时，还能做一个优秀文化的汲取者，传承者，创造者，这是何等的幸福。因此安心向学、努力读书，并非小事，长此这样，自己会愈来愈清，俊而不被世俗羁绊，远离浮夸而躁动的生活，修身缮性，这才是我们所追求的啊！

作为新生代的我们，各种责任集于一身，任重而道远，因此我们所要达到的不仅是应该读书，更是自主阅读，学会阅读，以自身的学识和涵养感染社会中的每一个人，国家会越来越强大而屹立于世界。
