一个中国人与书籍的关系的真相是——从前的读书人仅是千分之几、万分之几的幸运人，大抵是为了跻身仕途而读；如今恰恰反过来了，最广大的普通人才较有时间读读什么书。

普通人是多么普通的人呢？

清华、北大每年毕业不少学子；剑桥、哈佛也是——皆不普通了吗？非也。了解一下就会明白，并非个个都成了人杰，十之七八后来也还是归于普通。

如果谁的人生，目前尚不能与我朋友的儿子相提并论；如果哪一对父母，还没从自己的小儿女的智力方面看出比我朋友的儿子将更有出息的智光，那么我的建议是——在不影响正常升学的前提下，着意培养儿女的读书习惯吧。

任何一个国家的95%以上的人口，注定了是普通人口。这个世界对此还没有破局之良方。

那么，读书对于95%以上的人类，益处甚大。

会使我们成为社会地位虽普通，但在其他方面却较优秀的普通人。

会使我们于浮躁之境淡定；于群情盲动之际保持理性；于享乐风气大行其道时俭以修身；于清贫中不至于连精神也一并“贫穷”了。

会使我们成为善良、文雅、举止得体、谈吐不俗，因而起码在95%以上的人口中成为受尊敬的普通好人。

当然，我指的是值得一读的书……

书是一杯茶，越品越香甜;书是一片金矿，等待我们去挖掘;书是一位益友，陪伴我成长。 The book is a cup of tea, the more the product is the more sweet; the book is a gold mine, waiting for us to dig;

小学一年级时，我的同学黄梓希，她每天抱着书。下课时间，既不喝水，也不上厕所，而喜欢看书。我真是不知道书有什么好看的，所以我就叫妈妈买了一本书。那书叫《我要做好孩子》。这本书，我花了一个月才看完。它告诉了我，做事，要做得井井有条，一点不能马虎，要懂得讲礼貌，有素质，不要讲脏话。连邻居阿姨都感觉我变了个人似的。

小学二年级时，我向同学借了一本《十万个为什么》，这是人体与健康类的。这本书给我增长了许多课外知识，告诉了我耳朵为什么能听见声音，中国人为什么头发黑……妈妈还说我是一位小小科学家!

小学三年级时，我又买了几本书，有一本是《贝丝的快乐农场》，写得那么真实，我还把一本书里的好词好句都抄了起来，给写作用，有一次，我写了一篇作文，就用到了里面的好词好句，也给我增加了很多灵感。结果作文还打了96分呢!

到了小学四年级，家里全都是书，比天上的星星还要多，现在我看了《繁星春水》，这是诗集，让我明白了生活中的困难无处不在，一定要战胜它!《昆虫记》让我知道了很多昆虫的特点和生活习性，《海底两万里》让我知道了世界上原来还有那么多奇奇怪怪的海洋生物，《秘密花园》告诉我了长得不好并不可怕，只要心灵美才能真正受人喜爱。《小橘灯》让我知道了世界上爱无处不在，只要用心去体会。

我已经与书成为了好朋友。我已经养成了一个爱看书，每天都爱看书的好习惯。爸爸看见我每天那么努力，非常欣慰——比吃了蜜还要甜。

其实，我还是要感谢黄梓希，因为她，我才知道书原来藏着那么多秘密，书，原来那么好看，那么精彩。

以书为友，其乐无穷!

It is known to all that language learning is not only a kind of knowledge, but a kind of practice. Practice makes perfect. In learning a foreign language, Marx has set a good example. From the very beginning I spared no pains and paid as much attention as possible to listening, speaking, reading and writing. I read the English stories with great interest and learn to keep English diary every day. Now I am able to appreciate English poetry.

To meet the demands of present situation I must learn English well.
