“世界读书日”的目的是鼓励人们尤其是年轻人发现读书的乐趣，并以此对那些推动人类社会和文化进步的人们所做出的伟大贡献表示感谢和尊重。

书籍是人类进步的阶梯，它是精神最好的粮食，读者总是能从书中的主人公身上学到很多知识和道理。

比如《昆虫记》，他向我们展现出了集多种有点为一身的作者法布尔，他观察细致入微，热爱大自然，又幽默风趣又有耐心，同时他也是书中的主人公。他总能想到别人想不到的办法来观察昆虫。在“黄蜂”这一小章中，法布尔宁愿牺牲皮肤，也要观察黄蜂，后来还转换视角揣测黄蜂的心理，这些无不体现了他热爱昆虫，愿意为科学无偿服务的精神。即时他的出身并不好，父母也没用赞同他观察昆虫，也并不重视昆虫学，但通过他的不懈追求，最终还是成为了一位昆虫学家。法布尔观察每种昆虫，都会有不同的启示，大都写在每一小章的最后面，我最喜欢的是“生命不息，战斗不止”只要生命之花没有凋零，就停止奋斗，不要因为一点困难就半途而废，生命还在，就要让他变得精彩。正是法布尔锲而不舍对昆虫的钻研和热爱，细致入微的观察，呕心沥血的创作才凝结出的知识的宝库。

我还看了《鲁滨孙漂流记》鲁滨孙在孤岛生存并最终返回祖国靠的是什么?这不仅仅只是超好的运气，更多的是对生命的热爱和负责，吃苦耐劳的精神，坚持不懈的努力，保持乐观的心态。这些都是我要向他学习的地方。他的生活就像游戏《我的世界》一样从一无所有到丰衣足食，无聊中有乐趣，乐趣中有辛苦。

多读书，读好书，就是与名人交换思想，净化心灵，并打开智慧之门，博览群书，达到人生的巅峰，这便是读书的益处。

One night Mr Lee was driving his wife home from work. She was a nurse in a

hospital. It was almost midnight and she was quite tired out. She soon fell

asleep. Mr Lee looked at her and smiled.

Mr Lee was a careful and experienced driver. He knew it was safer to drive

slowly on a dark night. After some time he noticed a car following him. It was

travelling very fast. Suddenly it overtook his car.

The driver of the car was in a hurry. He did not see the approaching lorry.

To avoid hitting it, he suddenly tuned his car. It skidded off the road and hit

a big tree. The driver and his passenger were injured.They were badly cut by

glass from the broken windscreen.Mr Lee quickly stopped his car by the side of

the road. His wife got out of the car to help the injured. The lorry driver also

stopped to help. Mr Lee drove off to telephone the police . About twenty-five

minutes later, a police car and an ambulance arrived. The injured were carried

into the ambulance and taken to hospital.

The policemen took down details of the accident. Mr Lee and the lorry

driver told them all they could remember. The policemen thanked them for their

help. Mr and Mrs Lee got into their car and continued their journey home.

我有许多的兴趣爱好：看书，画画，下棋，上网。其中我最喜欢的兴趣是看书了，因为书中那一个个动人的故事，那神奇的科幻世界经常让我如痴如醉!

一天早上，我做完作业后，就立刻的跑到房间，走到书架前，挑了一本《红楼梦》，就做到沙发上慢慢的欣赏。不一会儿，我就被故事的情节深深的吸引住了。直到中午，才听到外婆叫吃午饭的声音，边吃饭的时候我边惦记着还没看完的内容，于是匆匆的吃晚饭，又拿起书津津有味的看起来了，没过多久，又传来外婆叫我的声音，“宇，快来帮我把这些垃圾扔掉。”我不耐烦的说;“等一下，等我这篇看完了!”过了很久，终于把剩下的书看完了，我长长的伸了个懒腰，来到厨房，看了看，满脸疑惑，心想：咦?垃圾怎么不见了，不是叫我倒垃圾吗?我朝四周望望，发现家里空无一人，才明白，原来外婆在我看书的时候自己把垃圾倒了。外婆回来后，我问外婆;“你不是加叫我去倒垃圾吗，怎么自己去倒了?”外婆生气的说：“叫你好多次了，你都不吭声呀!”我不好意思的低下头，原来自己已经陶醉在知识的海洋中。

我喜欢看书，书会带给我很多的乐趣。读作文可以提高写作能力，读百科全书可以增长人的见识，读历史故事可以让人了解古代的文化，读名人传可以学习伟大的发明和精神。

知识使人进步，我最大的乐趣就是读书，读书也给我的生活带来了更多的色彩!

我自己也有很深刻的印象，我家楼上的邻居，虽然他才上幼儿园。他每天有事没事的往楼下扔玩具、泼水。有一次，我刚出门(我家住一楼有两个门，一个是楼道门，一个是阳台外面的门)有一盆洗拖把过的水“从天而降”，脸盆正扣着我的头。我的脸刷的一下就红了，顿时一股怒气从心里烧了出来……“喂!”我对着他大喊，“你有病吧!”没想到——他的脸笑得比三月的桃花还要灿烂。我的火更大了，扯着嗓子大喊：“叫你妈给你去看病吧!”除此之外，每天一点多，他要不是在哭，要不就唱歌。害的我们整幢楼都睡不好觉，睡着了也会做恶梦，所以人人都讨厌他。

随着时间的流逝，他上了小学。他变了……我家的门口在也不湿了，晚上也听不见哭声了。每次看到我再也不是瞅瞅我，对我做做鬼脸，而是礼貌的说声“姐姐好”。起先我也不习惯，觉得他又在做什么恶作剧。可是，久而久之，我才发现他是真的变了。以前，看到他都会躲的我，都希望在路上能够遇见他。他变得有礼貌，人人都喜欢他!
