I am convinced that few books are as good as this one. To be honest, I hadn’t maintained that this book would appeal me before I read it. However, I was absorbed in the book from the first chapter to the last one. Why this book has appealed to me that much? I asked myself. This book is not my type of reading for only romantic books could draw my attention successfully. Then I came into a conclusion that it is the friendship and familyship fascinated me.

To the world you are one person, but to the person who loves you, you are the world. Amir was Hassan’s world. Amir’s name had been the first word Hassan spoke. Hassan threatened brutal Assef for the sake of Amir. Hassan never failed to run the kite to please Amir. Hassan sacrificed himself for Amir’s house. These are more than a friend would do. Only those who loves you so much could challenge himself to do what Hassan did to Amir.To Hassan, Amir was not only a mere friend but a brother. He loved Amir more than anything else. Even after Amir betrayed him, he still told his son proudly“Agan Amir is my best friend”.Maybe for Hassan “for you, a thousand times over” has another meaning, which is not just kite running for Amir but he will do anything for Amir.

If Hassan could be described as an angel, then Amir was just a person. I did hate Amir for he watched Hassan be raped and did nothing, for he made Hassan leave his born-place, for he aimed Hassan with fruit(even though he actually tried to make himself get punished). Amir didn’t deserve what Hassan did to him. I thought his meanness caused Hassan’s tragedy. But after I finished the book, I realized it is not Hassan’s tragedy, it is Amir’s. For what he had done to Hassan, he had led a live with regret and suffered endless sleepless nights. His going back to Afghanistan is not only a journey physically but a journey to atonement. Hassan’s son, his nephew saved, Amir’s sin was finally washed. Like the life of circle, Amir ran kite for his miserable nephew.As Hassan did to him, he said “for you , a thousand times over” to Sohrab.Though the book doesn’t give us an accurate ending whether Sohrab came into life again. I am sure love can cure everything. Only when Sohrab lives a happy life as Hassan hoped can Amir’s sin washed up.

The friendship between Hassan and Amir moved me. I believe All the people who read it is going to be touched just as I am. This book does make me think the good and the bad ,what’s wrong and what’s right, the cruelty of war . Few books can exert an influence on people nowadays, this book sure does.

暑假里我看了好几本课外书，每本都很好看。但让我映象深刻是那本狄更斯写的《雾都孤儿》。狄更斯是十九世纪英国最著名的现代主义作家，当他些这本书时，年仅二十五岁。我看完这本书后，书里的情节会久久的在我的脑海里浮现。

本书的书名叫做《雾都孤儿》，很显然小说应该围绕着奥利弗•退斯特这个孤儿来写。可我看到后面，却看不到奥利弗•退斯特的出现场次，相反越看到后面越是更多的出现了正、反人物的正面较量。以布朗罗先生、露丝小姐为代表的正面人物在南希小姐的通风报信帮助下，一举将贼首费金、两号人物赛克斯一网打尽。这和看到这篇小说的广大读者的心愿是完全吻合的，我一边看一边希望那些可恶的人物能够尽快消失掉。狄更斯满足了我的愿望——让赛克斯的脖子被一条绳子的活扣套住而气绝身死，让老犹太走上绞刑台，走完他丑恶的一生。应该说小说着力要表达的并不完全是奥利弗•退斯特的可怕遭遇，相反小说着力要表达的恰恰是作者自己的良好愿望——善必将战胜恶，正义的阳光必将普照大地!而奥利弗•退斯特在其中只不过起到一个正反双方进行交手的连接点的作用，这是我个人的看法。

什么是“人生的引路人”?在我看来，在前进的脚步，于你启示的，让你成长的，给你影响的就是一个“引路人”，他们不分男女老幼，高低贵贱，你的生活缺不了他们因为他们总是给你意想不到的光明世界。

近几天，在语文课本的介绍下，我接触到了一本书——《傅雷家书》，其中记述了傅雷夫妇在1954年到1966年5月期间写给傅聪和儿媳弥拉的家信，也详细的写下了傅聪出国学习、演奏成名到结婚生子的成长经历，也映照着傅雷的翻译工作、朋友交往以及傅雷一家的命运起伏。

很快我就买下了这本书而且很快沉迷其中，因为这本书给了我很大的感悟。

傅雷是位很严厉的父亲，他与世界千千万个父亲一样，都盼望着望子成龙，早日成就。因儿子傅聪在国外学习音乐常年不得回家，只得在那个通讯并不发达的年代靠着一封封家书传达讯息。在心中，一向教育子女极其严厉的傅雷直抒胸臆，通过书信，把自己的真情流露在字里行间。

傅雷夫妇在十一年间，用一封封家书建造了一座灯塔，照亮了傅聪昏暗的前路，给予他精神上的帮助和指引。这样的恒心和毅力让我动容。

其中几段内容让我印象深刻，难以忘怀。

“亲爱的孩子，你走后第二天，就想写信，怕你嫌烦，也就罢了。可是没一天不想着你，每天清早六七点钟就醒，翻来覆去的睡不着，也说不出为什么。好像克利斯朵夫的母亲独自守在家里，想起孩子童年一幕幕的形象一样，我和你妈妈老是想着你二三岁到六七岁间的小故事。”在段话里，我能感受到父亲写下的字字句句都表现了一位父亲对儿子的深情。他希望孩子能够茁壮成长，向外发展，早日独立自主，成就自身，但同时又不忍心让孩子离开身边。天下父母皆如此，从怀胎开始到分娩后，便含辛茹苦的将儿女哺育成人。但是，他们总会有长大的一天。“儿女成才之际，亦是离开屋檐独飞之时。”为此喜忧参半，那就是一种父爱。

再如“孩子，我虐待了你，我永远对不起你，我永远补赎不了这种罪过!这些念头整整一天没离开过我的头脑，只是不敢向你妈妈说，人生做错了一件事，良心就永久不得安宁!真的，巴尔扎克说得好：有些罪过只能补赎，不能洗刷!”同是离别之初，傅雷的爱子之情更加强烈!从开始对其离去思念、牵挂，到后来忆起自己对幼时傅聪管教严厉的愧疚甚至罪恶感则更显情深。傅雷在傅聪幼时“虐待了”傅雷，对其一丝不挂，严加管教，但是哪有父亲虐待子女呢?血浓于水，骨肉情深，他比任何人都希望儿子变得更优秀，这种情感使他不得不让儿子承受更多，而为的却是让孩子在未来收货更多。

一次偶然的机会，我在图书馆看到了法国作家罗曼·罗兰的《名人传》，我深深地被它吸引了。《名人传》是由《贝多芬传》《米开朗琪罗传》和《托尔斯泰传》三部“巨人”传记的合集，是世界传记文学的伟大典范。

《雾都孤儿》是一部十分著名的小说，作者狄更斯，是英国的一位非常著名的作家。

记得第一次看《雾都孤儿》，是在八年级的时候，当初是为了学好英语，才看了英汉对照版的。当时的感觉就是，奥利弗很善良，所以没有被带坏，好人还是有好报的。只是南希死的太惨了，不过除了这一点，结局也还算不错，坏人都得到了应有的惩罚。

第二次看《雾都孤儿》，是初三毕业那年的暑假。当时看了一部电影，叫《八月迷情》，总觉得这部电影的剧情跟《雾都孤儿》很像，于是就看了第二遍。这次才发现，奥利弗不但善良，而且非常勇敢。他敢于开口再要一些粮食;他敢于动手打侮辱自己妈妈的人;他敢于一个人跑到伦敦奋斗;他敢于逃出贼窝;他敢于去监狱探望费金。正是因为他的善良和勇敢，加上好心人对他的帮助，才使得他得到收留，过上幸福的生活。

现在进入大学了，开设了外国文学这门课，我再一次翻开了《雾都孤儿》，还看了一遍电影版的，于是心灵又被撞击了一次。我发现主人公奥利弗除了善良、勇敢，还非常的坚强，不服输，并且懂得知恩图报。他一出生就注定要经历很多很多的磨难，没有父母的疼爱，没有家庭的温暖，有的只是他人的打骂和瞧不起。但是他没有向命运屈服，他要去伦敦，他要去奋斗，他要过得更好。终于到了伦敦，却又不幸被骗进了贼窝。老贼和小贼们教了他种种偷的技术，但他并没有因此也变成一个小贼，他知道偷东西是不好的。还好，再一次行动中，他幸运的被布朗鲁先生同情和收养了，他很感谢布朗鲁先生，主动要帮布朗鲁先生还书，却又被盗贼集团抓了回去，他恳求他们放他回去，他要把书和钱还给布朗鲁先生，他不想让布朗鲁先生认为他也是一个小偷，一个骗子。

整部小说曲折惊险，让人不仅为奥里弗的身世叹息，为坏人说愤怒，被善良人所感动，为奥里弗最后的幸福生活而高兴。而我最喜爱的人物，是在两次奥里弗陷入危难时，没有计较他偷了东西，而是十分同情他，并帮助了他的两个人。因为他们的善良，奥里弗才得救，也因为他们的善良，才使世界上少了一个受苦的孩子，是将来少了一个贼，多了一个好人。如果世间的人都想他们一样的话，我想，世上便不会有受苦的人，不会有那么多的孤儿。正如一首歌中所唱的：“只有人人都献出一点爱，世界将变成美好的人间。”而我也为其中的南西所感动，她是贼窝得一分子，但她没有被贼窝染黑了心，她知道悔改，知道去怜悯一个孤儿。但她也是被那个善良的人所感动了，可见如果多一个善良人，也许可以多感化一个在贼窝里的一刻还有一点点人性的心。但是，我也为南西所悲哀，她最后的结局十分惨，她被打死了，而打死她的人，确是她一直不舍得离开的人。南西曾有许多机会逃离那个肮脏的世界，但她放弃了，就是舍不得最后那个打死她的人。

奥里弗，南西，善良的绅士和小姐，贼窝里的人以及《雾都孤儿》中的所有人，都使我知道了许多东西。《雾都孤儿》，一本好书。

This book is simply wonderful. The tales involved are tales of the Persian Gulf, of Bagdhad, Arabia, and tales that we as adults should revisit for some enjoyable light reading that will make us smile and wonder at the old folklore of the Arabian Peninsula.

Sinbad the Sailor is in there, as is Aladdin in its original form, and the story begins of a king who is so upset by his wifes unfaithfulness that he will now only accept virgins for one night and then have them killed. A smart virgin begins her night with the infamous king by telling him stories, and she so fascinates him and enthralls him with her tales that the tales turn into folklore for readers of the ages. I wont tell you what happens in the end to the virgin princess, but you will find humor, enchantment, wisdom and fantasy for those times when stress becomes a factor in your life.

I highly recommend the tale of "The Historic Fart" as a both funny and inspiring tale of human nature. Please buy this book and remember to become a nine -12 year old again as you read with curiosity and wonder at the fabulous enchanting, lively stories. I was beginning to wish my children were a bit younger so I could read these to them. Any child would enjoy these stories, and any adult will find them simply relaxing and a reflection of medieval Islam.

Okay, at first I have to admit that “The Da Vinci Code” is an amazing book. When I read in mid-parts, sometimes I just wanna to ask, “Okay, okay, what is happening?” It is a horrible period to let an eastern person to understand western religions in sudden. And so, this book basically is in love with the western religion issues.

Honestly, the author is a genius that he organizes plots and conflicts so dramatically and delicately. It’s like a gift. Reading the book is taking a roller coaster, and even worse, your eyes are forced to be close, the world is full of empty black and you got no idea what the railway go next. Everybody seems like suspect. There is absolutely an organization that was killing people and tried to hide something, which is the secret truth. Langdon knows that. Langdon figured the secret organization--priory of Sion at last, and it shows everything is related, the death of Saunière led Langdon all the way to Rossiyn Chapel, with finding “the rose line” the first prime meridian (RGO) that located France, Paris, Louvre. Where the story ends.

I can not understand that why the followers of Christianity and Catholicism would ever think that pain is good for people and human kind is meant to be guilty because they make the “God” or “Guesses Christ” mad or hurt. The plot descripts different personality well, and discovers the characteristics behind different force that was struggling the San-greal distinctly. In order to understand what is happening, and what are the symbols, characters, numbers really mean, and understand why the followers of the religion will be so obsessed, the reader have to place himself in the version of a total western guy, or a follower. Because of the different believe probably, I could not comprehend some of the strange behaviors (I mean they are weirdoes) that author described in story, but as a horror plus suspense fiction, I think “The Da Vinci Code” is better then “Sherlock Homes”.

The film shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when in an instant they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost.

Interestingly, The Millionaire also briefly looks at how the English perceived Americans in that era. Rich Americans were welcomed as outsiders and the poor were quickly shunned away. The fact that hes an outsider either makes him more appealing or the complete opposite. The story sticks to the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the movie from being a mockery of the British society. The movie drags at some point but the love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. A charming Gregory Peck totally nails the part and the luminous Jane Griffiths is a treat. Reginald Beckwith, as Pecks sidekick Rock is amusing. The ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.

But the warden killed the young prisoner the only man that knew Andy was innocent. Then he knew the prison he could not stay any more. It took him 20 years to tunnel secretly and he successfully escaped from the prison. When he got free, Andy sent the evident which could prove the warden corruption, briber and murdering to the policy agency. Before that, Andy had told his best friend Red that his dream---Zihuatanejo, a warm place without memory. After escaping, Andy lived a free life in another identity and made the prison governor arrested. Several years later, Red was approved to leave. for the promise to Andy. Finally, in Zihuyatanejo, they met.

The cruel prison life terrified me and the friendship moved me. The story goes to a happy ending---redemption. This film impressed me a lot. A sentence was said in the film: ’Some birds arent meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it.’

In this film, as we can see, the Shawshank Prison, which enjails lots of people. They have been in the prison form many years ,so they won’t go abroad. Because they won’t and also they can’t. They lived here for years without hope, and they lived just in the small prison, where nobody knows what is their dream and what’s their hope. As I remember, a old man Brooks was released after he had been in the jail for 50 years. But he found that the world became completely different from the world he imagined. For example, he seldom see cars before. He felt very strange and helpless to the outside world He can hardly adapt to the new developed world. He would rather stay in the prison. So unfortunately he chose to commit suicide.

However, on the contrary, Andy said a converse sentence:’ Some birds arent meant to be caged, thats all. Their feathers are just too bright…’ He long for the freedom and strive for it! What I remember very clearly is someone said that “These walls are kind of funny things like that. First, you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. Even in the jail which is the most evil place that Andy could make it a significance place. He had transformed a storage room smelling of turpentine into the best prison library in New England. Then the prisoners read the books and got knowledge from it. Andy also helped them to pass the high school equivalency. The glitters of him lighted others’ life. That helps him built many sincere friendships in the prison. He just too bright that didn’t belong to the prison .Then he escape and gained the freedom.

Furthermore, the patience, courage and strong willpower are the keys to escape. 20 years, not a short ordeal time, but he endured. He made his plan day by day, week by week and year by year. He never gives up. he took nearly twenty years to dip a tunnel with a little rock hammer which Red said it would take a man 600 years to tunnel under the wall with one of these to fight for his free .And he did it finally. Please imagine, crossing the tunnel he dup, he still should crawled through five hundred yards of shit-smelling foulness. That is the length of five football fields.

Then is the last but not least, I think. He has the bright brain ,the never fading persistent, and the most important thing----hope. Just as Andy said to Red: Hope is a good thing, may be the best of things. In this film, Andy show us that how good thing the hope is. Yes , hope is a good thing. Whatever it is, it can’t lock the hope. We all have dream. We all have hope. We all have it and please never give up, like Andy.

This film, Shawshank Redemption, teaches me a lot. It deserves to be one of the most overwhelming films in the Hollywood.
