The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most popular traditional festivals

celebrated in China, which is on the fifth of the fifth lunar month, also known

as Duanwu Festival. It’s said that it is to commemorate the death of a Chinese

and finally committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River to protest

kinds of stuffing. What’s more, hanging herbs on the front door, drinking

realgar wine and pasting up picture of Zhongkui—a mythic guardian figure in

ancient china—are also popular during the festival, which are mean to protect

people from evil and disease.

These customs and traditions have been changed a little in recent years,

but they still make contribution to the spread and inheritance of Chinese

culture.

Like tangible cultural heritages such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden

City, intangible cultural heritages like Peking Opera and

Confucius-commemorating rituals are equally crucial. We should make our utmost

efforts to preserve intangible heritages because, without their physical form of

existence, they are in greater risk of extinction.

According to UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible

Cultural Heritage (2003), all forms of social customs and habits, folklore,

performing arts, rituals, oral traditions, festivals, traditional crafts and

various knowledge and practices about nature and universe can be classified as

intangible cultural heritages. As a country consisting of a great diversity of

ethnic groups and with time-honored history and civilization, China abounds in

intangible cultural heritages. Cultural heritages connect modern people with the

historical past, allowing them to acquire a cultural and historical identity.

Without cultural heritages, we would be rendered absolutely rootless and we

would find it hard to cope with challenges at present and in the future.

However, the modernization process poses mounting threats to intangible

heritages. Many people have a blind faith in the latest electronic devices. It

is also pathetic to see elderly people in possession of such legacies pass away

without transmitting them to the younger generation. Faced with those

challenges, we should both preserve and renovate our ancestral heritages so that

we can help contribute to the cultural diversity of the world and return to our

spiritual homeland in this age of impersonal science and technology.

端午节来了!我们全家都是跃跃欲试的，为什么呢?当然是因为每到端午节，我们就都可以吃到香喷喷的粽子了啊! The Dragon Boat Festival is here! Our family is eager to try. Why? Of course, because of the Dragon Boat Festival, we can eat fragrant rice dumplings!

五月初五，端午节。端午节又称端阳节、午日节、五月节等。端午节的习俗也可多了，吃粽子，喝雄黄酒，挂菖蒲、蒿草、艾叶，薰苍术、白芷，还有赛龙舟!而我最喜欢的就是吃粽子了，不只是吃粽子，我还特别喜欢包粽子，这样体会到自己辛勤的劳动成果后，那种自豪与喜悦是满满的，什么也不能代替的!

每年端午节我都会跑到奶奶那里去帮忙包粽子，今年也不例外。

我一到门口，奶奶就笑呵呵地叫我进来，我跟奶奶聊着聊着突然想起了正事——包粽子!包粽子也是技术活，首先要选择上好的糯米，我精挑细选一番，最终满意地点点头!接下来就是用把粽子叶卷成一个圆锥形，然后把糯米填进去，要填得溢出了才差不多了，奶奶说这样有利于后面的包裹，可以使粽子里的馅料充满整个粽子。

然后按照螺旋的手法，把粽叶的另一端开始慢慢的卷起来。卷到最后的样子，要留一点小尾巴。接着把尾巴全部卷起来，用大拇指把它压住，把卷起来的那一面对折过来，最后用棉线底部十字形的捆包起来，捆好不让它散开就可以了!我们把二十个粽子全部包好之后，粽子们就该下锅了!

我耐心地等着，就等着那香喷喷的粽子出炉!“好了!”当我听到奶奶的话时，天知道我有多高兴!我急忙把脑袋凑过去，去看看我的劳动成果!耶!大功告成!我屁颠屁颠地请妈妈爸爸他们过来吃粽子，他们都说好吃，我的心里也乐开了花!

每次端午节都给我带了很大的喜悦!

I always think there is not enoughTime. For example, I have just taken a

three-day holiday. But when I look back, I just feel that it’s only one day.

There goes a proverb, “Time is money”. Now I want to say, time is more precious

than money, because when money is spent, we can earn some more again. However,

when time is gone or lost, never will it return.

Time goes without being noticed. The time for our study and work is usually

limited. So I think we must make full use of our time. But it’s a pity that I am

always not aware of the importance of time until it’s too late.

So I think, I should get into the good habit of saving time because wasting

time is equal to wasting one’s life. Do not put off what can be done today till

tomorrow!

Most children don’t like to go to school, and they just want to enjoy

freedom and hang out for fun all the time. But when I see some kids studying so

hard and their special skills help them to win applause, I realize that I need

每年的农历五月初五是我国传统节日端午节。

端午节那天我去太婆家，刚进门，就闻到一股扑鼻而来的香气，原来是太婆在煮粽子，可香了。中午我们吃的是粽子大餐，顺着香味来到饭桌前，一盘香香的粽子摆在眼前，馋的我直流口水，拿起一个粽子，小心翼翼地拨开粽子皮，大口大口地吃了起来，太满足了。

吃完粽子，我们来到电视前，观看一年一度的赛龙舟。为什么要赛龙舟呢?有两种说法，第一是祈求今年风调雨顺，保佑人们过上幸福的生活。第二是纪念屈原。

江面上排满了上百艘各式各样的龙舟，场面十分壮观。一艘龙舟上有20多名船员，其中包括一名陀手，一名锣手，一名鼓手，其余的是划船队员。他们个个身体健壮，力大无比，他们正在等待一声哨响，裁判一声令下，一艘艘龙舟向终点飞快地驶去。

随着锣鼓敲响，队员们一致的动作向后滑动，反反复复，嘴里喊着属于自己队伍的口号，使龙舟快速前进。这时我想哪艘龙舟会获得胜利呢?应该是九号红色的龙舟吧，正当下，就看见相隔几条道的七号龙舟突然急剧的加速冲了上来，队员手上的浆划地非常快，快到脸上的肌肉都在抖动，看着让人激动。随着人们的欢呼声，七号龙舟快速的到达了终点，取得了胜利，队员们在江面上欢呼着，泼水庆祝。

端午节是一个很有趣的节日，在这一天里，我们一家过得很开心，期待下一次的端午节。

在七月的第四天，我们期待的暑假终于来临，顿时，我心中有股兴奋的感觉。

我觉得只要是个学生都喜欢暑假，因为在这两个月里我们可以愉快度过!

刚放假，爸爸就帮我报了补习班，其实我还想再多玩几天的。刚到补习地点上课的时候，我居然看到了我的两个闺蜜。我记得我之前问她们说要不要一起去补习，可是她们说打死也不去，可现在……

开始上课了。只见一个男老师走了进来，“同学们好，我是你们的数学老师，我姓王，你们可以叫我王老师。”他刚说完我就已经知道他是哪里人，广东人。我舅妈也是广东人，每次她回我们老家都会叫我们带她去放牛。可是她每次都说放流，哈哈哈，搞得我半天才听懂。我发现王老师每次给我们讲题的时候，脚和手都会抖，可能他是初生之犊，但他似乎怕虎。老师最怕的就是我和我的两个闺蜜了，因为我们说话比较直接。上课的时候，我们老是戳中老师的“要害”，哈哈!

可明老师就不一样了，正版的山东妹子，可“凶”了。她带着一副非常厚的眼镜，讲课过程中整个表情严肃认真，我们一句话都不敢说。但有时候她也会跟我们开玩笑，她还给我们讲故事。我们很佩服她，因为她在英语方面很有学问，而且她讲课效率特别高，我们一听就会。

在一个月的相处中，我发现我爱上了这样的暑假生活。我们整个八年级的补习生和两位老师就像一个大家庭一样，快乐，幸福，和睦。

补习结束了，我很舍不得两位老师还有同学们。他们就像我生命中的过客一样，戏份不是很多，但是很重要。

我的家乡有很多节日，我尤其喜欢五月初五端午节了。

今年的端午这天节，我们全家人一起抢着吃老妈刚刚包好的粽子。我迫不及待地剥开粽叶，咬了一口，说：“哇！老妈包的粽子可真好吃啊！”老妈笑着说：“你这个小馋鬼！粽子呀，有三角形、菱形、方形、柱形……可真是样式繁多。如果按照馅料来分，可分为猪肉粽，黄豆粽，蜜枣粽，蛋黄粽等，味道各不相同。”我俏皮地说：“还是老妈做的最好吃。”我一下子就吃了三大个。香喷喷的，里面的肉馅更是鲜嫩。吃了一口还想再咬一口。

我们一家人吃好粽子后，又开车赶去观看赛龙舟。

到那时，岸上的观众已是人山人海。河上的龙舟活灵活现，两侧做工十分精美。赛龙舟的叔叔们，穿着红背心，头上用手巾盘着英雄结。他们可谓信心满满，蓄势待发。一声枪响后，各位叔叔们用力划着龙舟，龙舟像离弦的箭一样，非一般地前进。刚开始，旗鼓相当，不分上下，最后红色的龙舟胜利了，红色龙舟上的人们欢呼起来，我们也欢呼起来。

今天端午节过的真开心啊！

Almost every child will complain about their parents sometimes. It is

natural, because when people stay together for a long time, they will start to

have argument. But ignore about the unhappy time, our parents love us all the

time. No matter what happen to us, they will stand by our sides. We should be

grateful to them and try to understand them.

不知从何起、我幼小的心灵充满了对那似乎很遥远的长大的向往。也许是因为曾经无数个充满梦想的问号都被妈妈相同的答案“长大”回答了吧！

小时候、我总盼望着长大、希望能不受父母的“压迫”、能够早点摆脱“早饭由父母做、衣服由父母穿、床铺由父母理”的生活。成长的感觉如糖一样甜蜜、令人回味无穷、又似花一样吸引人、更如一个个美好的愿望。长大的感觉美妙地简直无与伦比。

不知不觉中、我成长了12个春秋了、已经长大了。现在我真真切切地感觉到了长大的滋味。长大感觉是什么？是雨后萌芽的翠绿嫩芽、是花瓣上滚动的羞涩露珠、是冰淇淋的甜爽、是青草莓的酸涩。

在成长的道路上、留下一串串歪歪斜斜的足迹、有痛苦也有欢乐、有充实也有失落。我长大了！长大了、就应该笑对人生、笑对挫折和困难、应该学会坚强、我长大了、就应该收起天真和幼稚、学会冷静、学会思考、我长大了、就应该学会承担学会背负。

成长和长大、就像人生中必不可少的调味品、有人打开了调味瓶的盖子、使自己的生活变得有滋有味、有人没有打开调味瓶、那他 的生活就因为挫折和成功而变得有苦有甜。成长的感觉真好！

农历五月初五是端午节。说到端午节，我们立刻就会想到伟大的爱国诗人屈原。据说，屈原是在农历五月初五受冤，抱着石头自投旧罗江后，当地百姓闻讯马上划船捞救，直行至洞庭湖，终不见屈原的尸体。老百姓为了不让屈原被鱼儿吃掉，家家做粽子，把粽子投进汨罗江中。

妈妈和爸爸带我一起去外婆家过，这时，外婆正在煮香喷喷的糯米粽子。外婆说:"中国江南民间端午节有吃"五黄"的食俗。"五黄"指黄鳝，黄鱼，黄瓜，咸蛋黄及雄黄酒。一旁的外公要跟我讲讲端午节的习俗，听说在江南地区:他们为了驱邪，用艾叶，菖蒲和蒜这"端午三友"驱鬼，还有一种重要的驱鬼方法，是在室内挂避邪驱鬼的符咒。

过了不久，香喷喷的粽子煮好了，刚煮好的粽子热气腾腾的，我第一个坐在位子上，说:"外婆，我来帮您尝尝粽子熟不熟"外婆笑眯眯的说:"看你这只小馋猫，好!外婆给你先来一个。"我把粽叶拨开，看到了糯米粽子，闻一闻，哇!真香啊!接着狼吞虎咽地吃了起来。外婆说:"现在的粽子品种可多啦!有豆沙粽，水晶粽，肉粽，咸肉粽……"听着听着，我口水都要流了下来。

去了外婆家，我了解了不少知识，不过端午节的粽子真是太好吃了!

今天的心情如果用一个词来形容就是——高兴!如果一定要给它找一个近义词那就是——快乐!

几天前，妈妈就给我系上了五彩线，说是戴上它能给我带来好运气!早上我和妈妈吃了奶奶亲手包的粽子，还顶了鸡蛋，我获得了亚军!(只有我和妈妈两个人比的)。

上午，妈妈去值班，我去甜甜姐姐家和她玩，我们玩电脑，捉迷藏，屋子里到处都是我们的笑声。下午，甜甜姐姐来到我家，我们一起游泳，在小区里照相，游玩，开心极了!

好久没有这么开心的玩过了，真累呀!晚上，我趴在妈妈的腿上就睡着了，睡得真甜，真甜……

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method of

answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical

problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between

observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to

organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with

tools,techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the

progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who

seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of

accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other peoples likes or

dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists

discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwins theory of evolution. But

even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the

option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have

the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic

aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

Last week, when I passed a clothes shop, I was attracted by the beautiful

dress, so I asked my mother to give me money to buy one. But she refused me and

said that I could collect some money by helping her to do little work. I agreed.

So I started to clean the house and the dishes. Sometimes washed my father’s

car. Finally I got enough money.

今天是五月初五，中国又迎来了一个节日——端午。

端午节是为了纪念屈原这位爱国诗人。这天人们有许多的习俗，如：吃粽子、赛龙舟、插艾草等。其中赛龙舟的形成还有一段小故事。在屈原跳江死后，人们为了纪念他，把糯米投入江中。后来屈原托梦给他们。人们问他：“屈原先生，我们投入江中的糯米您收到了吗?”屈原说：“全部被鱼吃掉了，我只收到一点。”人们又说：“怎么会这样呢?屈原先生该怎么把糯米送给您?”屈原立即说：“你们把糯米用芭蕉叶包起来，这样鱼就吃不到了。还要做成龙模样的船，在水上飞过，鱼就不敢吃了。”于是赛龙舟的习惯被流传了下来。

这天，我和爸爸来到江边看龙舟比赛。江边人声鼎沸，人山人海，我用了吃奶的劲才挤到人群中去。突然人们大喊，原来是去年的冠军——蓝队出场了。过了好一会儿，所有的队伍才全部出场，今年新加了一个队伍——绿队。各队伍都信心满满，做好了准备，有种万事俱备，只欠东风的感觉。当裁判一声口哨响起，如同东风一样，所有的船队像箭一般射了出去。我眼花缭乱，或许是太热，或许是船行驶太快。突然，在行驶出一百米时，有三支队伍落后了。

过了一段时间后，蓝队仍然领先，观众的助威声也越来越卖力，这声音震耳欲聋。比赛快接近尾声，对于选手们，可以说是冲刺时间;对于观众们，可是紧要时间。场上的声音越来越小，呼吸也越来越慢。就在这时，绿队十分默契，很快的冲到了第二，仅次于蓝队。在最后一百米时，绿队士气大增，加快了速度，可蓝队还在沾沾自喜，认为冠军非她们莫属，结果超过蓝队。就在这时，口哨声想起来了。绿队战胜了去年的蓝队，获得了冠军，刷新了蓝队的记录，观众们再次沸腾起来，对绿队的团队精神给予鼓励，同时也讽刺了蓝队的骄傲自满。

回到家中，妈妈家就把粽子从锅里取出。种子有好几种馅，有的是豆沙馅，有的是蜜桃馅，还有的没有馅，只用来蘸白糖吃的。粽子不仅有饭团的香味，还夹着芭蕉叶的清香甘甜。吃完后，妈妈烧了些艾草让我洗洗看，说它有汗湿消炎的作用。我用鼻子深深地吸了口气，有一种淡淡的药香沁人心脾。今天，我看了赛龙舟的振奋，吃粽子的甜蜜，闻艾草的清香，还让我明白：“虚心使人进步，骄傲使人落后。”

俗话说：国有国法，家有家规。家风、家训、家规就是反映一个家庭的德行和品格，所以这三要素是至关重要的。我家的家风、家训、家规见证了我的一次次成长和蜕变。 As the saying goes: state -owned national law, family rules.Family style, family training, and family rules reflect the morality and character of a family, so these three elements are crucial.My family style, family training, and family rules have witnessed my growth and transformation.

首先是家风，家风反映了一个家的风气和作风。我家的家风是助人，这家反映在我们家日常生活、工作和学习上的。我们向来都是礼貌待人、助人为乐。对于遇到困难的邻居和朋友，我们会去帮助他们、鼓励他们。对于工作中的同事，我们会关心他们、互帮互助。对于受到挫折、情绪失落的同学，我会敞开心扉，分担同学的一半忧愁，带给同学一半欢乐。其实，助人为乐的这种好家风会让你成为热情善良的人，会让你成为有能力帮助他人的人，会让你成为人际关系特好的人。所以，我喜欢我家的家风，它是我成长路上的美景。

I am Happy

Today， the biology class is very different. We don’t need to sit in the

classroom， because the teacher takes us to do activities. We go to a field that

is near our school， and the task for us is to observe flowers. We feel so

excited and finish the task very carefully. It is a good way for us to learn

knowledge. I am so happy.

今天，生物课与平时不太一样，我们不需要在教室里面坐着，因为老师带我们去做活动。我们来到学校附近的一片田野上，我们的任务是观察花朵。我们非常激动，也非常认真地完成这项任务。这是一个学习知识的好方法。我很开心。
