Longman Dictionary of English Idioms（p.28）上对这条谚语的解释是“The relationship between people of the same family is stronger than other，relationships”因此，这则谚语似可以借用汉语中一句俗语“亲不亲一家人”来译更能表达出“属于同一血缘关系的一家人比别人更亲近一些”的寓意。

语言是文化的表现形式。谚语同文学作品、诗歌一样是语言的精华。英语谚语是富于色彩的语言形式，一般具有生动形象、喻义明显、富于哲理的语言特征。在一定程度上，英语谚语反映了英语民族的文化特点。因此，翻译英语谚语时，仅仅以语言之间词汇的同义性（等价性）为前提，寻求对等的表现是不够的。译者须较多运用汉语的表现手段，力求能再现英语谚语的语言风格和丰富内涵。只有多注意英语谚语字面以外所特有的语言内涵色彩，才能使译文讽喻得当，宜于说理，又不失原来谚语所具有的语言形象。

某些英语谚语和汉语成语、俗语在表现形式和含义方面是一致的或基本一致的。汉译这些英语时，可惜用与其喻义相同或相近的成语或谚语及俗语直接对译。这样不但可以比较好地保持原文的神韵和形式，又使译文易于为读者或听者接受。如：

Amiss is as good as a mile.差之毫厘，失之千里。

有些英语谚语意在言外，语言含蓄，寓意深刻。如果仅从字面意义直译成汉语，而不领会原文的具体含义及其效果，译文势必平淡无味。这样既不能表达意思，又有损于原文的语言形象和丰富内涵。因此，在翻译时，应在汉语中寻找那些与原文喻义相同或效果相似的成语、谚语或俗语来表达，则会使译文形象生动，准确达意。试比较下列各译例。

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.如译成“住在玻璃房子里的人，不应扔石头”不如译成“己有过，勿正人”或“责人必先责己”。

In fair weather prepare for the foul．如译成“晴天要防阴天”，不如译成“有备无患”或“居安思危”或“未雨绸缪”。

Murder will out．如译成“谋杀终必败露”，不如译成“纸包不住火”。

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread．如译成“愚者敢闯天使不敢去的地方”，不如译成“初生牛犊不怕虎”。

One cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.如译成“想吃煎蛋卷，就得打鸡蛋”，不如译成工“有得必有失”或甚至可以引申为“不破不立”。

如果所要翻译的谚语喻义清新，形象逼真，按其字面直译其意，就能表达出原文的喻义来，则可直译。这样做既能较完整地保存原文的表达方式，且又可丰富我们自己的语言文化，一举两得，请看下面的译例。

如果按字面译成，“你可以把马牵到河边去，但不能叫它饮水”至少是没有充分体现这句谚语本身所具有的强烈对比色彩。从语法分析的观点看，在这个句子里，情态动词may和can虽然都表示“可能”的，但在含义上有所不同。这里may表示“事实上的可能性”，而can则表示“逻辑上的可能性”。并列连词but使前后两个分句意义相反，对比色彩强烈。在这种情况下，译文也必须力求对偶整齐，前后呼应，形成对照。如将此句译作“牵马河边易，逼它饮水难”或“老牛不喝水，不能强按头”会更好些。

总之，即使像谚语这样孤立的语句，翻译时也需尽一番揣摩切磋之功，否则译文就可能与原文“貌合神离”，文不达意。译事艰辛也许正在于此。

去年夏天，我迷上了电脑游戏。有一次，等妈妈出门后，我和哥哥就蹑手蹑脚地走进房间，津津有味地玩起了电脑。可屁股还没坐热，妈妈因为没带遮阳伞，又转了回来。我一听到开门的声音，马上手忙脚乱地关掉电脑，可是为时已晚。妈妈一个箭步冲进房间，发现我们在玩电脑，气得怒发冲冠。这下妈妈动真格了，拿起竹丝一人打了3下，我的腿顿时火辣辣的，低头一看，发现腿上布满了血丝，眼泪不争气地吧嗒吧嗒往下掉。我很内疚，我知道，妈妈其实并不反对我们玩游戏，只是无法原谅不诚实的行动。

还有一次，我和哥哥上完厕所后，就关灯睡觉了。这时，我忽然想起有一本书没看完，就和哥哥商量起了“小偷”计划。我蹑手蹑脚地把耳朵贴到爸妈的房门口探听，没有声响，估计爸妈已经睡着了，就连忙跑回房间，轻轻地打开灯，拿起一本《发现号》，和哥哥有滋有味地看了起来。结果，又被妈妈逮了个正着。她走进房间，抡了抡拳头，说：“看你们还不睡觉！”

俗话说：“金无足赤，人无完人。”我就是一个有很多缺点的活泼男孩，我将继续享受快乐的童年时光。

The Spring Festival  the most important festival in China.People usually decorate the doors and windows with red papercuts.becouse red means good luck.People usually clean house too.becouse they want to sweep away bad luck.Children can get some new clothes or presents from their parents and grandparents.On New Years Eve,family always have a big dinner.Everybody are watch TV and talk.In the midnight,there usually fairworks.On New Years Day,people usually put on their new clothes and vit their femily and friends.They usually say Happy New Years Day. The Spring Festival finhes at the Lantern Festival after two weeks.People usually eat a kind of rice dumpling called yuanxiao.It can take people good luck all the year round.

在火车上，旅客甲的手帕不见了。他硬说是坐在旁边的旅客乙偷走了。对此，无论旅客乙怎么辩解，旅客甲始终不相信，并且还差点大动干戈。

可是，过了一会儿，旅客甲在里边的口袋里找到了那块手帕。

于是，他很不好意思地向旅客乙道歉。

旅客乙接受了他的道歉，并且很冷静地回答道：“没有关系，刚才我把你当成一位绅士，而你把我当成一个小偷;看来，咱们都错了。”

小偷，这个名字大家听了后是不是感觉很害怕。其实，在我童年的时候，我不只一两次遇到过过小偷。下面我就给大家讲一讲其中我最伤心堤一件事。

那是一个天气晴朗的星期天，我们一家人准备去绵阳公元。走在半路上，我忽然听到了一阵快速的脚步声，我以为是有人在练习跑步，过了一会儿，奶奶大声地说：“我的耳朵怎么这么疼，难道是有鬼？”我们一听，迅速回过来看，原来是小偷，只见他取下奶奶的耳环猛然后向一支离弦的箭一样，跑得老远老远。“这下糟了，奶奶的耳环被小偷给偷跑了。”我心想，“那我的父母辛辛苦苦挣来的钱，在下次会不会也被他偷了？”哼！我可不让小偷再次得逞了。下次我去人民公园时，我要带一把“枪”，等小偷来了后，我就用“枪”吓唬他。

这时。我对奶奶说：“奶奶，你快拨打110，让警察把小偷逮住关进监狱里去。”奶奶听了后，连忙说“那好，可是那小偷这时已经跑得很远很远了，报案看能不能抓到小偷，如果不能的话，那就算了吧！下次我注意点就行了。”说完，奶奶开始拨打110了，奶奶把地址、区域、位置给警察叔叔说得清清楚楚的。我真希望警察叔叔能抓到那可恶的小偷，并让小偷交出耳环，还要教训他一顿，使他成为一个知错就改的人。这样我才能放下心来。

小偷，我想对你说：“你要自己认真勤勤恳恳地工作。历尽千辛万苦，才能挣到许多工资。到那时，你随便想买什么就买什么东西子，但你绝不能去偷别人的什么东西，要靠自己的辛勤劳动获得成果，我希望你能洗心革面，做一个好人。”

In China, students learn a lot of necessary lessons before they finish high

school. They can choose the special class as they go to college. But in the

western countries, the students need to take part in many special lessons to get

enough credits, since they are in middle school. Though some action has been

taken to improve students level, still many schools ignore it and they focus to

let students get high marks in the exams. The teenagers need to learn some

practical skills, such as swimming, which can save their lives when they are

stuck in the deep water. Students are always passionate about the special

lesson.

I have a love for my father, and a happy and warm home.

My father has a wide range of interests! Like to go, play badminton, play golf, &hellip, &hellip, and I like to play weiqi best. Every Saturday and Sunday, with me “ kill ” a set.

My mother said that daddy is the sun, mother is the moon, and I am the star. Our family is a permanent combination of galaxies, forever and ever. Father is a huge pillar, support the family, and work hard forever.

My father works in Zhejiang, Wenzhou, and manages a factory. There are twenty days in a month in Wenzhou, ten days in Kunshan. I will cherish this ten days, dad will try to play chess with me, take me out to play.

My fathers birthday is coming. I wish him a happy birthday! Good health！

Its very important for us to protect the environment. All of us want to live in a better place, so its our duty to beautfy the environment. As a senior high school student, we should do something.

Above all, we should never throw rubbish ourself. We must keep this rule, and then influence the others. Whats more, we should care more about the environment. For instance, we should read newspapers about the globle environment problems and think deep about them. Last but not the least, we ought to promote the importance of protecting the environment. In this way, we can call on more and more people to join us.
