He started with the sky and later described how “very gingerly I mixed a little blue paint on the palette, and then with infinite precaution made a mark about as big as a bean upon the affronted snow-white shield. At that moment the sound of a motor car was heard in the drive. From this chariot stepped the gifted wife of Sir John Lavery .”

Battered by grief, Winston took refuge at the home of friends in Scotland, finding comfort in his painting. He wrote to Clementine: “I went out and painted a beautiful river in the afternoon light with crimson and golden hills in the background. Alas I keep feeling the hurt of the Duckadilly (Marigold’s pet name).”

Historians have called the decade after 1929, when the Conservative government fell and Winston was out of office, his wilderness years. Politically he may have been wandering in barren places, a lonely fighter trying to awaken Britain to the menace of Hitler, but artistically that wilderness bore abundant fruit. During these years he often painted in the South of France. Of the 500-odd canvases extant, roughly 250 date from 1930 to 1939.

Painting remained a joy to Churchill to the end of his life. “Happy are the painters,” he had written in his book Painting as a Pastime, “ for they shall not be lonely. Light and color, peace and hope, will keep them company to the end of the day.” And so it was for my father.

时间过了好久……终于到我了！我像一只欢快的小兔子，蹦蹦跳跳地跑了上去。我的对手大摇大摆地走上去，神气十足，就像一个打了胜仗的大将军。“这不是对我的挑衅吗？先别得意的太早了！”我蒙好眼睛，比赛就开始了。我的眼前一片漆黑，像掉进了一个大黑洞似的，什么也看不见。我小心地走着，手不停地寻找桌子，生怕自己迷了路，“左边”“右边”“向前走”……叫喊声在我耳边此起彼落。我心想：到底该听谁的？我该怎么办呀？思索中，我摸到了一个庞大的身躯，我用脚使劲的蹬了一下，她像受了惊的小鹿，身子用力地扑腾着，我马上认定她就是被蒙上了眼睛的“小偷”。“真是踏破铁鞋无觅处，得来全不费工夫！”我急忙抓住她，迅速摘下眼罩，将这个“小偷”交给了“法官”老师。“哈哈”我赢了。

轮到蒋子娴和吕慧妍上场了！她们被蒙上眼睛后，令我们意想不到的事情发生了，蒋子娴这个“小偷”竟弯下腰，像一只机灵的小老鼠一样，“哧溜”躲在了桌子底下。我不禁感叹：原来还可以这样玩儿啊！真是道高一尺，魔高一丈！只见“警察”慢慢地挪动着步子，左摸摸，右摸摸，就像盲人摸象似的，傻乎乎的，怎么也找不到人。时间就像沙漏一样，一分一秒的过去了。警察找不到人，急得就像热锅上的蚂蚁，最终举手投降了。这时“小偷”从桌子下爬了出来，手舞足蹈地向我们宣布胜利。淘气包的杜文豪跑上去，拍了拍“警察”的肩膀，笑嘻嘻地说：“你这个警察该退休啰！”

游戏在欢声笑语中结束了，我心里暗暗的想：现实生活中的小偷一定更加的狡猾，警察可要提高业务水平了！

Today is fathers day. Im going to buy a gift for my dad with my pocket

money, so I "kill" the little fat piggy bank.

I walked into the room and said to my father, "dad, I broke something."

Father got angry, blew his beard and stared, and he kicked me in the ass without

saying a word. I was kicked out.

I took my pocket money and didnt go back to the shoe store. At the shoe

store, I said to my bosss shoes, "buy an adults shoes." The boss say: "you are a

child, how can buy adults shoes?" I told my boss it was for my father. The boss

asked me again, "how big is your fathers foot?" I turned my butt up and showed

him the footprints of my father. The boss was surprised at first, but he

immediately responded, laughing and saying, "youve got your size on your

ass."

今天是父亲节。我要拿着零花钱买礼物给爸爸，所以我把存钱的小肥猪“杀”了。

我神秘兮兮地走进房间对爸爸说：“爸爸我不小心打破了东西。”爸爸生气了，吹胡子瞪眼睛的，一句话也没说，就一脚踢到了我的屁股上。我被踢了出去。

我拿着零花钱，头也不回地往鞋店跑去。到了鞋店，我对老板大人的鞋说：“买一双大人的鞋。”老板说：“你是小孩，怎么能买大人的鞋呢?”我告诉老板是给爸爸买的。老板又问我：“你爸爸的脚有多大?”我就把屁股翘起来给老板看爸爸踢的脚印。老板起初很惊讶，但他马上就反应了过来，笑着说：“原来你已经把尺寸画在屁股上了。”

I do not know the reason why some people want to get up late。 They will

never have the opportunity to enjoy (of enjoying) the fresh air and calmness of

the morning。 This is indeed a quite regrettable thing。To rise early is a good

habit (which) we should cultivate。 Why? Because the best time when we can pursue

our studies is in the morning。 In addition， early rising is also good to our

health。 I hope that everybody our knows the reason why we must rise early。

My hometown is in Lianyungang. There are lots of beautiful places here. Our winter in Lianyungang has changed, too!

Winter came, and the snowflakes, which looked like white flowers. Like a butterfly dancing in the air, everything is so fascinating.

The snow stopped, the children all came out to play, you see, some of them have some snowball fights, snowmen, snowball, as if they do not feel cold. Adults are out to enjoy the beauty of the snow.

I love Lianyungang and love the snow in Lianyungang!
