周武王姬发灭商建周后，将东方的土地分封给有功之臣和周王室的子孙，又向各边远地区派出大批使者，以宣扬自己的文治武功，希望他们都归顺于周室。

于是，许多远方的小国和部族便派使者送来贡物，以示臣服。其中有一个部落送来一只叫做獒的狗。这只狗身上的毛呈黄褐色，身体较大，尾巴较长，四肢比较短，性格凶猛，善于搏斗。同时，它又很有灵性，在武王面前匍匐在地，好像是在行跪拜之礼一样。武王对此很是喜欢，便重赏了前来进献獒的使者，然后就高兴地逗起獒来。

召公知道这件事后，作了一篇名叫《旅獒》的奏章，呈给周武王。奏章的大意是：如果沉湎于侮辱和捉弄别人，就会使自己丧失崇高的德行;如果沉湎于所喜爱的事物，就会使自己丧失积极进取的志向。周王朝的建立很不容易，不能让它立刻灭亡啊!读了这篇奏章，周武王觉得召公的话很有道理，颇受感动，想起了从前纣王荒淫无度，导致商朝灭亡的惨痛教训，就下令将贡物分别赏赐给各位功臣和各国的诸侯。

Good Neighbours

We all have neighbours. A good neighbour is better than a distant relative. It is common that we may meet with difficulties.When we have igood neighbours, they will always come to help you. Neighbours should get on well with each other.

My neighbour has a daughter. We are of the same age but we don~t study in the same school. In the evening we always do homework together. She is good at maths and I am good at English. So we often help each other.

马长得骏美，皮肤光滑，许多人都非常喜欢它。而驴呢?样子笨笨的，也没有马儿那么漂亮，只能干重活，也没有人愿意去搭理它。

一天，主人要外出旅游，在马身上挂了许多美丽的装饰，自己骑在马上，并给它带上了上好的草料和清澈的泉水。可驴呢，可想而知，只能背着所有的箱子，托着重负跟在后面。

驴走了很久，觉得身上的行李越来越重，压得它直不起腰来，它请求马儿：“马大哥，我身上的行李太重了，可以帮我背一点儿吗?”可马儿理都没理会它，仍昂首挺胸地走在前面。驴没有办法，只能继续走在路上。

天热得让驴喘不过气儿来，苦苦哀求马儿：“亲爱的马大哥，您可以帮我背一点行李吗?我一定会把我的草料让给你作为报答的。”马儿瞅了一眼驴：“我可是背着主人呢，你认为，在我高贵的身躯上能背行李吗?”驴无话可说，脚累得没有了力气，筋疲力尽地倒毙在了行途的路上。

主人见驴死了，没有办法，只得将它的行李都放在马的身上，再把它的驴皮撕了下来，放在马的背上。马这时才后悔要是当初帮一下驴，自己就不会像现在这样了。

On Christmas morning， the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two o‘clock， and most of them are awake by six o’clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.

Children look for their presents ， and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one o‘clock in the afternoon， the Christmas dinner is brought in . The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten . Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it . The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.

又一次，珐琅不小心把磨盘打碎了，主人见了，挥起柳条鞭子，雨点般地抽在珐琅身上，珐琅一声没哭，金星却在一旁看着直流眼泪。

从此，主人把两匹好马打出家门，说“两个没出息的东西，要你们有什么用，滚吧，再别回来!出去吧，别在一起住”。两匹好马想，“这主人真坏!”

珐琅一个人在树丛里吃草，心里想：“一个人在这荒凉的草地上太没意思了，这里除了草就是树，除了树就是草，要是金星在这里那该多好啊”。

忽然，他听到身后有谁在叫喊，“法——郎——”，他回过头看见是金星，他正一摇一恍，慢慢地朝他走来。

珐琅说：“啊!是金星，你怎么在这里，主人见到怎么办?”

金星说：“我见到你在吃草，主人又不在，我才来的”。

他们终于能在一起，一边吃草、一边说话、一边玩耍，高兴极了!

这时，天下起雨来了，雨呀越下越大，珐琅淋到大雨，浑身上下直打哆嗦，金星就用嘴巴衔来一片大树叶，挡在珐琅身上，说：“这样好一点吧?”，珐琅点点头。他们就这样站着，直到彩虹出来雨停了为止。金星喘着粗气说：“啊!我不行了，来之前给狗咬了一下，可能活不长了”。珐琅说：“这怎么可能呢?你不会死的，也不可能死啊!”

夜深了，人静了，星星出来了。金星死了，珐琅哭成了泪人。他好伤心啊!

为了纪念金星，珐琅在金星死的地方立了一块碑，碑上面刻着“白色的金星，我很想你!”

珐琅用木头刻了一匹木头的金星，放在石碑前，天天来看它，珐琅太难过了。

有一天，珐琅又去看木头金星，谁知道，木头金星却变成了真正的金星!他们又在一起，一边吃草，一边说话，他们真高兴呀。

他们谈天会不会塌下来，一个说：“天不会塌下来”，另一个说：“天会塌下来的!”这话给老天爷听到了，他把身子往下一压，天果真塌了下来。

金星和珐琅立刻用腿顶住了天。

过了几百年，金星和珐琅变成了两座撑天山，一座高一点的叫金星山，一座矮一点的叫珐琅山。

后来，这里的马就越来越多了。
