战国时期，楚国的楚襄王即位后，重用奸臣，国家一天天衰亡下去。楚国有一个大臣，名叫庄辛，看到这样情况非常着急，总想好好劝劝他，但是楚襄王只顾享乐，根本听不进别人说的话。

有一天，庄辛实在忍不住了。对楚襄王说：“你在宫里和一些人奢侈淫乐，不管国家大事，国家迟早有一天会灭亡啊！” 楚襄王听了大怒，骂道：“你老糊涂了吧，竟敢这样诅咒楚国，说这些险恶的话惑乱人心吗？”庄辛不慌不忙的回答说：“我实在感觉事情一定要到这个地步的，不敢故意说楚国有什么不幸。如果你一直宠信这个人，楚国一定要灭亡的。你既然不信我的话，请允许我到赵国躲一躲，看事情究竟会怎样。”就这样，庄辛见楚襄王不纳忠言，只好躲到了赵国。 庄辛到赵国才住了五个月，秦国果然派兵攻打楚国，楚国几乎没有什么抵挡就让秦国攻陷了楚国的都城郢城。

姐妹仨还是采天上的白云做羽毛，变成三只天鹅飞了下来，落在果勒敏珊延阿林山上。她们找丈夫、找孩子，都不见了。她们在人间时夏天住的小马架子，没有了影儿;冬天掘的避风寒的地窨子，也早已填满了泥土。姐妹仨不禁落下泪来，边哭边沿着松花江往下飞。冷丁在一处密林中有个百十户人家聚居的部落。一打听，才知道这地方叫三姓，正是她们姐妹三人的后代。天上九百九十九天，地上九百九十九年，不但她们的丈夫早已不在人世，儿子也早就死去了，已不知传了多少代了。三姐妹见三姓人虽然象自己的丈夫样勇敢，却不象三兄弟那样和睦相处。他们生性好斗，常互相抡刀动捧，打得头破血流。仗越打越凶，仇越记越深。

三仙女留在人间，渴了喝天池水，饿了捕野兽、采野果，冷了点篝火，一过过了十二个月，生下一个浓眉大眼的孩子。这孩子下生就会说话，不一会儿就满地跑，过了不几天，竟和十七、八岁的小伙子长得一般高大，非常英俊了。三仙女见孩子这么快就长大了，心想这一定是天意。她知道人间最贵重的是金子，就说：“孩子，你就姓爱新觉罗④吧。”她又望望眼前的布库里山，说：“你的名字就叫布库里雍顺吧。”她想起正在成天打仗的三姓人，又说：“天生你，是要你停止械斗，平息战乱，统领人民过安定日子，你懂吗?”

爱新觉罗?布库里雍顺点点头，三仙女指着松花江说：“孩子，你就顺这条江下去吧!”说完，她变成一只天鹅飞走了。

爱新觉罗?布库里雍顺砍下天池旁的小树做成筏子，折下柳树枝叶盘成套圈戴在头上，然后跳上筏子，盘膝端坐上面，顺着山口进了松花江。小筏子穿过九十九道弯，闯过九十九道滩，经过九十九天的漂流，来到了三姓地方。

小筏子搁浅了，岸边一个汲水的姑娘看见他，跑回村子，告诉了村里的人们。大家争着来看，见他头戴柳枝围成的圈，盘膝端坐在筏子上，那模样很象一尊天神，便问：“你从哪儿来的?”布库里雍顺一指江上头，说：“从上边来的。”大家寻思是说他从天上来的，布库里雍顺想起讷讷嘱咐的话，就势说：“我是天女生的天童，来管理你们的。”大家见他英俊魁伟，确实与众不同，就相信了他的话。布库里雍顺又指着汲水的姑娘说：“是她先看见我的，我就到她家去了。”大家把他让进了姑娘家，姑娘的父母听说布库里雍顺还没成家，就把姑娘许给了他。几位穆昆达⑤也认为这样合适，就做了主婚人，当天举行了婚礼。他们将猪在祖先前领了牲，在院子里架起火堆，全村的人都来上礼，通宵唱歌跳舞，从此以后再不打仗了。

One day when court was held, Zhao Gao let someone bring a stag to the court and, with a broad smile on his face, he said to Emperor the Second of the Qin Dynasty:"Your Majesty, here is a fine horse Im presenting to you." Looking at the animal, Emperor the Second thought that it was obviously a stag and that it couldnt be a horse. So he said smilingly to Zhao Gao:"Mister Prime Minister, you are wrong. This is a stay. Why do you say it is a horse?" Remaining calm, Zhao Gao said:"Will your Majesty please see more clearly? This really is a horse that covers a thousand li a day." Filled with suspicion, Emperor the Second looked at the stag again and said:"How can the antlers be grown on the head of a horse?" Turning around and pointing his finger at the ministers, Zhao Gao said in a loud voice:"if our Majesty do not believe me, you can ask the ministers."

The nonsense of Zhao Gao made the ministers totally at a lose, and they whispered to themselves: What tricks was Zhao Gao playing? Was it not obvious whether it was a stag or a horse? But when they saw the sinister smile on Zhao Gaos face and his two rolling eyes which were gazing at each of them, they suddenly understood his evil intentions.

They immediately voiced their support to Zhao Gao, saying to the emperor:"This really in a horse that covers a thousand li a day."

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

有次曹操带兵出征，途中找不到有水的地方，士兵们都很口渴。于是曹操叫手下传话给士兵们说：“前面就有一大片梅林，结了许多梅子，又甜又酸，可以解渴。”士兵们听后，嘴里都流口水。后来，他们坚持到达了前方有水源的地方。

迎回文姬

曹操在平定北方后，出于对故人蔡邕的怜惜与怀念，“痛其无嗣”，于是派遣使者用金璧将蔡文姬从匈奴赎回国中，重嫁给陈留人董祀，并让她整理蔡邕所遗书籍四百余篇，为中国文化的传播作出了贡献。

横槊赋诗

赤壁之战前夕，曹操率大军饮马长江，与孙权、刘备联军决战。是夜明月皎洁，他在大江之上置酒设乐，欢宴诸将。酒酣，曹操取槊立于船头，慷慨而歌。苏东坡在《前赤壁赋》里称其“酾酒临江，横槊赋诗，固一世之雄也”。

痛打恶霸

曹操二十岁那年，当上了洛阳北部尉（管理京城北部治安的官员）。他一上任，就叫工匠做了二十多根五色大棒，悬挂在衙门左右。他立下禁令：谁要是犯了禁，不管他豪门大族，都用大棒责打。

那时候，蹇（jiǎn）硕有个叔父，是个出名的恶霸，依仗蹇硕的权势在洛阳横行不法，谁也不敢惹他。有一次，他在夜里带刀乱闹，触犯了曹操的禁令。曹操不管他来头多大，把他抓起来，用五色棒一阵痛打。那个恶霸经受不起，当场就死了。

这件事轰动了整个洛阳。大家都称赞曹操不怕权势，执法严明。宦官对他又恨又怕，后来，把他调出洛阳，去当了一名县令。

绝妙好辞

曹操曾经途经曹娥碑下，杨修跟随着（曹操）。石碑的背面题写着“黄绢、幼妇、外孙、齑臼”八个字。曹操问杨修说：“你知道这是什么意思吗？”（杨修）回答说：“知道。”曹操说：“你先别说，等我想一想。”走出三十里远的时候，曹操才说：“我已经知道了。”命令杨修单独写出他所知道的。

杨修写：

“黄绢，有色的丝织品，写成字是‘绝’；幼妇，少女的意思，写成字是‘妙’；外孙，是女儿的孩子，写成字是‘好’；齑臼，受辛之器，盛纳五辛的器具。五辛的另外一种解释是葱、蒜、椒、姜、芥。这说的是‘绝妙好辞’的意思。”

曹操也写下了自己的想法，和杨修是一样的，于是赞叹道：“我的才能比不上你，走了三十里路才明白（碑文的意思）。”

注：齑臼，不是受尽艰辛的器具，而是盛纳五辛的器具

I went to visit the Great Wall with my friends during the summer vacation.

We went there by bus. It took us about two hours to get there. It was hot and

windy that day. There were thousands of people. When we saw a group of

foreigners,we went up and talked with them. We told them lots of history of the

Great Wall. They were very surprised when they saw that our English were

exellent and we knew a lot about the Great Walls history. They thanked us a lot

and we really had a good time. We felt proud of ourselves and being Chinese.

The First Day in New Term
