感恩节是怎样产生的呢?Thanksgiving is how arise?

早在1620年，一些在英国受到宗教迫害的清教徒乘船来到美洲。As early as in 1620, some in the UK of religious persecution by the pilgrims sailed to America.但是当年的冬天就让他们遇到了跨越不了的困难处境。But when winter let them met across the of the difficulties.饥饿和寒冷使他们一半人都失去了生命。Hunger and cold make them half people lost their lives.此时，心地善良的印第安人给他们送来生活必需品，还教会了他们种植、狩猎等等生存技巧。At this time, and kindness of the indians send them necessaries of life, also teaches them growing, hunting and so on survival skills.终于，这些移民坚强地存活下来。Finally, these immigrants strong to survive.为了感谢印地安人的帮助，在丰收的那一年，移民邀请印第安人一起庆祝。In order to thank the indians help, in the abundant harvest that year, immigration invited the indians celebrate.这就是感恩节。This is Thanksgiving.

Every year on the fourth Thursday of November is Thanksgiving Day. It’s a

festival for American and Canadian with the purpose of thanks for harvest. While

canadians celebrate on the second Monday of October. I have a penfriend in

America. He wrote to me his Thanksgiving Day last year. He told me that it was a

time for family reunion. Families would come back home to celebrate the festival

together. Most of the time it was his mother who prepared the dinner. Turkey is

must for the festival. It looks like huge chicken. His mother also made pumpkin

pie and many other delicious food for them. After the dinner, they talked with

each other with the old thing or the future plan. He said sometimes they would

invite some friends to share the happiness of Thanksgiving Day. In a word, he

had a great time on Thanksgiving Day.

This pampered young lady had left her family for the first time to join the college and was feeling quite lonely on Thanksgiving. She decided to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for herself. She was narrating her first experience in the kitchen to her mother and mother really wanted to know about the results. When asked how the food was, the lady replied with a shudder that though the ready-made soup and pizza were great, she had quite a trouble with turkey. Trying to get to the root of the problem, the mother asked, "Was it burnt?" The lady replied, "Oh! I couldnt taste it mom. It simply wouldnt sit still!"

my wife, shirley, and i have gone on vacations to a quiet beach in southwestern florida for most of our married life. if that beach could talk, it would tell of teenage newlyweds who sunned and wrote i love you on its sands. it would tell of a little girl with eyes the color of the sea gathering seashells and of three wild boys leaping and diving into the surf. it would tell of joyous visits over the years from friends, parents, grandparents, new brides and grooms-and now grandchildren. the beach would tell glorious tales of warmth and gratitude.

but i realized one day that i had rarely expressed my gratitude to the one whod lived those years with me. on our 40th wedding anniversary, shirley and i walked again the familiar margin of the sea. i told her then how thankful i was that she shared my life.
