This novel shows us the cruelty and crime of London. Oliver Twist the hero is a poor orphan. He lived in a life filled with taunts. Nobody loved him. With visions of his future he decided to go to London. He thought a new life was coming but he was wrong a group of thieves were waiting for him.

The author created a group of bad men.

Fagin an old man with a horribly ugly face and red hair was the head of those thieves. He tried to make Oliver be a criminal.

Bill Sikes was a cruel and evil man in the group. He had a bad temper.

Monks Oliver’s brother did bad things to hurt Oliver. He wanted to get the legacies left by his father alone. He paid Fagin to trap Oliver into a life of crime. In fact they were all afraid of being put into prison and being hanged. They can’t live happily.

Nancy a poor girl loved a bad man. She had to help Bill Sikes perpetrate because she loved him. She had to be loyal to the criminal group because she loved him. Actually she was kind. She helped Oliver at the risk of her life. If she hadn’t fell in love with Sikes she would have a happy ending.

The author showed these ugly things to us he described an ugly world. But there are more kind people in the novel.

Mr. Brownlow an old friend of Oliver’s father took good care of Oliver.

Mrs. Maylie Harry Maylie’s mother saved Oliver of his life.

Miss Rose is the aunt of Oliver in fact.

They all protect Oliver from hurt.

Oliver was unlucky to meet so many evil people but he was luckier to get help from so many kind people.

In the end of the novel all the evil people were punished. Oliver got what he should get. Rose married Harry Maylie and they lived happily. All the kind people have a happy ending.

Righteousness can always beat evil. I think this is what the author wants to tell. Although there are many ugly things in the world we must believe that righteousness can always beat evil.

We must store kindness even though we are in ugly situation. One is poor if he doesn’t have kindness. One is rich if he has kindness. So please store your kindness in your mind.

What’s more the novel also tells us to be brave. Oliver was brave enough to overcome all the problems he had met. No matter how difficult the problem is we can’t give up we must try our best to solve it.

From Oliver Twist I have learnt a lot .It’s really a good novel.

There are many parts I like:"The Ugly Duckling" tells of a homely little bird born in a barnyard who suffers abuse from his surroundings until, much to his delight (and to the surprise of others)， he matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all. The story is beloved around the world as a tale about personal transformation for the better." The Angel"?, which about an angel and a dead child gathering flowers to carry to Heaven, reminds us of the punishment which we would accumulate on the ill-use and under-use of our talents and situations.

"The Little Mermaid lifted her glorified eyes towards the sun, and felt them, for the first time, filling with tears.” The Mermaids sacrifice is not incidental, or because she made the mistake of loving a human, or because she wanted a soul, or be a complete human, or as her final rite of passage.

The father and son of E Blaus, a German painter, is an interesting and animated cartoon. The comic book reflects the sincere feelings of father and son. The father first came to this world, and later his son came to the world. On the road of life, more than one companion, also equal to more than a friend.

When father is in trouble, the first one to think of is his clever, lovely and lively son. When his son is in trouble, he first thinks of his humorous, fat and honest father. When his son was a child, his son grew up to be the patron saint of his father.

During this term I have read a novel The Red and the Black. The novel was written by the French writer Stendhal in the 19th century. Marie·Henri Beyle better known by his pen name Stendhal was one of the critical realism French writers in the 19th century . The military and theatrical worlds of the First French Empire were a revelation to Beyle. Known for his acute analysis of his characters’ psychology and reflection of society he is considered one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of realism in his two novels Le Rouge et le Noir (The Red and the Black 1830) and La Chartreuse de Parme (The Charterhouse of Parma 1839). Stendhal laid down for himself in a diary entry of May 1804:“regard everything I’ve read to date about man as a prediction; believe only what I have seen for myself. 这本书让我联想到很多的事情，世界万物的形成，人类及各种动植物的最初形态-成长-发展-衰亡的过程和轮回;就像草，世界的每个角落都能看到各种小草。它们在冬天会枯萎、发黄甚至死去。但是，每年的春天一到我们又能见到翠绿的草原，正是应验了一句古诗：野火烧不尽，春风吹又生。试想这不也是一种死亡后的重生吗?

在地球上，我们每个人都只是渺小得如一粒沙子;在整个太阳系中，地球也只不过是千万星球中的一颗;而在宇宙中，太阳系是不是只是渺小的一个，我们人类的位置又是在哪里呢?

回归到地球上的万物，不管是人还是植物，都会有终结而被取代的一天。因为宇宙是不规律的，正因为宇宙的不规律才有现在的太阳系、现在的地球以及现在的人类和现在的美好生活。浩瀚宇宙，辽阔苍穹，我们何其不只是一粒微尘，一粒各有缺陷，需要互相交融沟通的尘土。而世界上亦没有十全十美，不管是对待自己的还是他们的错误，我们能做的是只是以一颗微尘谦卑的心，给予多一点包容少一点责备，因为我们都是生活在一个不规律的宇宙之中，我们需要互相理解!

说到宇宙的最初让我回想起我曾经看过的一部短片视频。短片中讲述我们人类所看、所听、所触、所感的都是不复存在的。乍一听，我们可能会觉得此言论是语出惊人，喧哗取宠，但实则不然。

我们都知道人的所有感官系统都是由大脑所控制的，就像我们看到的、听到的都是由我们的神经系统传播到我们的大脑组织，然后再由我们大脑组织显像出我们看到的以及我们所听到的景象或者声音。试想一下把一个人的大脑组织拿出来，然后把它的听觉系统、视觉系统与我们事先准备好的电脑连接在一起。电脑中的画面出现的同时是不是也在这个大脑的视觉系统中显现出相同的画面?我们再把事先准备好的音乐在电脑中播放，这时候的大脑听觉系统是不是也会同时听到一样的音乐呢?这一切真的令人匪夷所思。继续观察，我们会发现如果我们把与电脑连接的视觉系统、听觉系统切断，此时此刻大脑中还能显现出画面、听到音乐吗?答案非常清楚，不能。而这些清晰的画面和声音的形成正是借助于微量元素的作用。

宇宙是由微量原子通过迅速的膨胀直到爆炸，再在宇宙中万有引力的作用下，将爆炸后的相同元素的残骸吸引到一起。成千上万次的爆炸和一次次的万有引力作用才造就了今天的宇宙、星系、地球和人类。

这样，我们不难想象灭亡之后的重生将会更精彩。太阳系如此、地球如此、人类也是如此。但这都是很久之后的事情了。也许等到地球、太阳系结束生命的时候，人类已经找到另外一个可以生存的星球。现在的人类只是整个地球的统治者、占有者和使用者，等到那个时候人类将会成为另一个星球的统治者、甚至整个宇宙的统治者。

霍金给我展现的这一切，或许有人会认为是危言耸听，但是时间会是一个公平的评判者。然而，短时间内，我们能赖以生存的星球就只有地球，我们无法赶超时间和超越空间，能做的就是珍惜爱护我们现在共同的家园，珍惜拥有的时光和生活，把每天都当成末日来过。那样即使明天就如电影《20__》中所描述的世界末日的来临，我们也一样能泰然处之。

最后，联想到我们21世纪的大学生，我们应该庆幸我们赶上了一个好时代，有这样一个好的环境中求学，拓展自己的知识、开阔自己的眼界、活跃自己的思维、培养自己的能力。那么我们又有怎么样的理由在一点点的挫折面前萎靡不振，有怎样的理由在宝贵的时间面前虚度我们的青春?霍金身残志不残，不仅与残疾斗争20年，而且把他高超的智慧奉献于科学研究，以超乎常人的毅力完成了高难度的科学研究。我不能不说，上帝对每个人都是公平的。霍金有身体上的缺陷，可头脑聪明的很!他给科学界的贡献远远超过了一个正常人所付出的。一个人如果身体有了残疾,绝不能让心灵也有残疾。尽管上帝是公平的，但是生活是不公平的，不管你的境遇如何，你只能凭借着依旧热忱的心全力以赴。这些霍金都做到了!而我们就更应该充分利用这么好的条件来努力学习，打破局限，带着自己的思想、自己的见解求知问道。不耻下问，扩展自己的兴趣爱好，提高思想高度。同时逐步走进社会、感受社会、了解社会，提升我们的竞争意识，培养自己多方面思考问题的能力，亦即创新思维的培养。

At the beginning of this century, many new writers emerged with the introduction of many new ideas. Among them, Jack London was the most popular one.

His most famous novel is the call of the wild . Although it is a story about a dog, Buck, it vividly depicts the life in the primitive North where people rushed for gold and fortune.

Buck, used to belong to a judge, was kidnapped and sold to North. Then he became a member of a dog-team pulling a sled . In the days of pulling a snow-sled, he learned to conform to the law of nature and obey the master. Finally, he found a basic instinct hidden inside him, which enabled himself to survive the tough environment. This is the call of the wild.

When you read the story, you will feel that Buck is a man instead of a dog, struggling with his fortune and conforming to the law of nature.

Though short, it is really a thrilling story. What you never forget is the tough life in the nature, the brave and crafty dog. Maybe the wild is calling you to go ahead.

While writing for only 16 years throughout his life, London produced an amazing body of work among which, White Fang, Martin Eden, the Valley of the Moon are representative.

the Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.

Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre.

My first impression of this story was from screen.

Its long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I dont remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. Its pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine,though I didnt think shes beautiful. But shes smart. However, I didnt pay much attention to the plot. I thought its so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I havent read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.

In fact, I didnt understand the story at that time. I didnt know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didnt find where s the prejudice. I thought its normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. Im a prejudiced person so I cant find wheres wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

所以放弃并不代表着我会失去，相反它意味着另一种收获。

人人皆知：“长安归故里，故里有长安。”却无人知晓：“西北望长安，可怜无数山。”曾经的《却邪》中的一句话，不知道映射了当代多少的大学生。就像小时候听老人们讲故事：“猴子掰苞米，轻易得到的苞米，最后也会轻易的去失去，最后变得一无所获。书中所说的放下是在得与失之间慎重定夺后的选择，也许只有你放下了上一站的美好，才会遇见下一站的惊喜，面对复杂，保持欢喜。

其实，放下和拥有从辩证法的角度来看，它们既是相互对立、又是相互统一，你在这一刻放弃，可能下一刻就会拥有另一样东西，你在这一刻拥有了，那就意味着你放弃了另一种东西。

好了，你这个瞎说一通的作者，愿你历尽千帆，归来仍是少年。愿你不负韶华、以梦为马。愿你平安喜乐、终遇良人。

浩瀚的宇宙、神秘的地球，以及那些目前为止人类尚不足以弄明白的事物总是像磁铁般地吸引着有着强烈好奇心的人们，《时间简史》读后感。无论是年少的还是年长的，人们总是去不断的学习，为的是能更好地了解我们周围的各种事物。身为二十一世纪新一代的青年，我们有责任也更有义务去学习、了解、研究我们所处的环境。为此出于强烈的好奇心，利用暑假难得的机会我认真地读了霍金先生写的《时间简史》一书，读完之后掩卷长思，细细的领略其中的哲理，让人耳目一新。

《时间简史》的重点就是概述黑洞和宇宙奇点大爆炸理论，它从爱因斯坦的相对论开始一步一步的探讨，补充了广义相对论中的一些不足。作者认为宇宙是从一个密度、时空曲率无限大的奇点通过大爆炸而开始的，在大爆炸中，物质的温度非常高。在随后过去的一秒钟中，宇宙的温度急剧下降，下降到大约100亿摄氏度，于此同时也在不断地膨胀，就使得正电子和反电子(带正电荷的电子)互相碰撞以此湮灭，并释放出大量光粒子，来维护宇宙的平衡。到了后来，得以有强力的作用从而使物质不断聚拢，聚拢，这就形成了古老的星球和星际物质。我们的地球，也是通过这样的物质聚拢才形成的。

而书中的另一伟大成就是对黑洞的研究，黑洞最开始是爱因斯坦在《相对论》一书中作出的一个预测，他假设如果存在一空间的曲率非常大，物体的逃逸速度非常快，快到连光也不能逃离这样的空间。那么这样的空间可以称之为“黑洞”。但他认为既然连光也不能逃离黑洞，那么我们也无法观测到它，它名副其实是一个非常黑的洞。但霍金结合了爱因斯坦的相对论和量子理论后提出：黑洞其实不“黑”，它可以放射出正反粒子，而且它还有这很高的温度。正因为它放射出的正反粒子互相湮灭了，所以我们很难观测到它。黑洞以极高的速度放射能量，当能量耗尽时则会向宇宙大爆炸那样从一个奇点发生强烈的爆炸，并在宇宙中消亡。

如果我们可以时间旅行，我们回到过去的时间。因为空间和时间是连续的，过去的空间和过去的时间已经成为现在的空间和现在的时间，我们也就是回到了现在。这有意义吗，我们从现在回到现在?我无法想象我们过去的某一时刻的时间和空间仍然在某个地方以某种形式存在，它们明显已延续成了现在，读后感《《时间简史》读后感》。如果它们以某种形式存在的话，那意味着每一个时刻都象照片一样静止，并且是绝对静止在一个地方。这是错误的。我还没有想说时间旅行不可能，只是想假设空间和时间的速度比光快。时间的速度是个什么概念，这似乎象水里燃烧的火一样无法想象?

太阳光要经过八分钟到达地球这句话里有两个内容。一是光的速度，二是时间的长度。我们所认识的时间，是我们地球围绕太阳运转的时间，这是一个人为的划分，之后我们才测量出光的速度。我们一直把时间当成一种长度，似乎它的速度无穷大，只要物质达到那里，时间同时也达到了那里。时间的速度就是宇宙膨胀的速度，它应该比光的速度快。这样的推导，将推出宇宙是有限的结论。

为什么我们总是记住过去而不是未来，为什么时间总是向前进?

这里必须关心一下时间的方向，只有时间有方向的时候才可能出现时间旅行。这必然出现前后和里外之分，它必然有起点和现在的位点，那么宇宙就有了一个边界，宇宙就是有限的。只有当我们低于时间的速度时，我们才相对于时间向后运动，我们才能回到过去。就是说，所有的物体在相对于宇宙的时候都和时间同速，宇宙里的一切都在随时间向前运动。如果我们超过时间的速度走到时间之前，那里还没有空间没有时间没有一切，那里还是混沌状态，在那里不会看到任何东西，我们也不能在那里存在。

另外，佛教说：三十六重天，十八层地狱。似乎与九有关的倍数都有很大的魔力。

书里比较吸引我的令一个说法是“空间和时间变成动力量。当一个物体运动或一个力作用时，它影响空间和时间的曲率;反过来，空间——时间的结构影响了物体运动和力的作用方式。空间和时间不仅去影响，而且被发生在宇宙中的每一件事所影响。”

这段话看起来，似乎说得和全息论是一个道理，但是前面的光锥理论明显和这个理论有矛盾。这使我很困惑。

后来我才发现，光锥是从狭义相对论推出的;那段话是从广义相对论推出的。

越来越发现，霍金好像一个哲学家，他几乎总是在思考着令我们无法想像的东西。但这本书无

今天，我把《老人与海》这一本书读完了，这一本书主要讲了一位老人在海上钓鱼，可他一连84没有钓上一条鱼。

其实这本书我读完后，并没有完全理解这本书的意思，于是我就问了妈妈，妈妈就又给我讲了一遍，我才明白了一些。

老人一连84天没有任何收获，可是他没有放弃，仍然不停的给自己加油鼓劲，最后他决定去深海里捕捉一条大大的鱼，于是他就出发了。最后虽然他钓到了一条好大的鱼，但在在往回返的时候却被大鲨鱼给吃光了，只留下了一条巨大的鱼骨头。他很伤心。

看完这本书，我心里有点难过。我觉得老人很可怜。

Swifts satire of the houyhnhnms comes out in other ways as well.One of the most memorable scenes is when the dapple grey mare attempts to woo the horse that guenivre has brought with him to the island. first she acts flirtatiously,parading around the bewildered horse.But when this does not have the desired effect,she gets another idea: “as I watched in amazement from my perch in the top of a tree,the sorrel nag dashed off and returned with a yahoo on her back who was yet more monstrous than mr.Pope being fitted by a clothier.She dropped this creature before my nag as if offering up a sacrifice.My horse sniffed the creature and turned away.”

It might seem that we should take this scene seriously as a failed attempt at courtship,and that consequently we should see the grey mare as an unrequited lover.But it makes more sense if we see that swift is being satiric here:It is the female houyhnhnm who makes the move,which would not have happened in eighteenth century england. the houyhnhm is being prideful,and it is that pride that makes him unable to impress gullivers horse. gulliver imagines the horse saying,sblood,the notion of creating the bare backed beast with an animal who had held mr.Pope on her back makes me queezy.

A final indication that the houyhnmns are not meant to be taken seriously occurs when the leader of the houynhms visits lilliput,where he visits the french royal society.He goes into a room in which a scientist is trying to turn wine into water (itself a prideful act that refers to the marriage at gallilee).

The scientist has been working hard at the experiment for many years without success,when the houyhnmn arrives and immediately knows that to do: “the creature no sooner stepped through the doorway than he struck upon a plan. slurping up all the wine in sight, he quickly made water in a bucket that sat near the door.”

He has accomplished the scientists goal,but the scientist is not happy,for his livelihood has now been destroyed.Swifts clear implication is that even though the houyhnhmns are smart,they do not know how to use that knowledge for the benefit of society,only for their own prideful agrandizement.

Throughout gullivers travels,the houyhnhms are shown to be an ideal gone wrong.Though their intent might have been good,they dont know how to do what they want to do because they are filled with pride.They mislead gulliver and they even mislead themselves.The satire on them is particularly well explained by the new born houyhnhm who,having just been born, exclaims,“with this sort of entrance,what must I expect from the rest of my life!”
