拔河比赛开始了,双方选手先一齐后仰,一齐发力,九牛二虎之争,个个精神振奋,斗志昂扬,汗流夹背,不顾形象,使出了吃奶的劲儿。场外的拉拉队也不甘示弱,“加油——加油!”那加油声犹如山呼海啸,响彻云天不断提高。绳中间的小红领巾,一会儿向左,一会儿向右,真是棋逢对手,将遇良才,输赢难分。我们班的王灿可是名副其实的大力士,脸涨得通红,嘴闭得紧紧,身体紧紧地靠住绳子,拼命往后拉。红领巾眼看要到我们这里了,可是不知怎么的,五班来了一大股劲,红领巾移到了他们,我们输了。

第二局易边再战,双方不甘示弱。拔呀,拽呀!绳子慢慢的移到我们这边了,可是大力士们稍一松气,五班使劲一拉,功亏一篑我们又输了。

拔河比赛结束了,我们虽然输了,却一点也不灰心,因为“失败乃成功之母”嘛,我坚信,下一届拔河比赛的冠军一定是我们的!

夏天的一个中午，火辣辣的太阳照着大地，有两组男生在操场上进行拔河比赛。

老师一声命令：“开始!”，两边的男生们都咬牙使劲用力拉绳，中间的红绳忽左忽右的，大家特别兴奋，左边一组都蹲下身子伸出左腿一起向后用力。右边的一组也不示弱，使劲拽着绳往后拉，在最后端有一位穿黄色衣服的男生弯下腰背起大绳拼命往后拉。 The students bite their teeth pull the rope hard, the red rope in the middle is left and right, everyone is special, everyone is specialExcited, the left group squatted down and stretched out his left leg to work together.The group on the right did not show weakness. 最后，左边一组取得了胜利。但是不管输了还是赢了，大家都感觉特别开心。因为他们比赛都尽了全力!

Friendship is essential for the existence of society. People live in

communities and work in co-operation so that they could protect themselves from

nature. The successful accomplishment of any task calls for support from many

people. It’s the friends who are willing to help us. Friendship is a guarantee

of harmonious efforts.

In the widest sense, all people are friends. People live in a common

society, co-operating and helping each other directly or indirectly all the

time. From this respective, anyone could be a friend of others to a certain

degree. And it’s this kind of friendship that makes society harmonious though

competition is universal.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Unfortunately, people are so complex

in the modern society due to various reasons. Sometimes, we don’t really know

who are our real friends. Adversity is the touchstone of friendship. That is to

say, in hard times, it is easy for us to test whether the friendship is ture or

not. No matter what happens, a true friend will never leave you alone and will

always be with you.

Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.
