1917

With 2 million Russian soldiers dead in the war, Russian women again chose the last Sunday in February to strike for "bread and peace". That historic Sunday fell on 23 February on the Julian calendar then in use in Russia, but on 8 March on the Gregorian calendar in use elsewhere.

Since those early years, International Womens Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike. The Role of the United Nations

Few causes promoted by the United Nations have generated more intense and widespread support than the campaign to promote and protect the equal rights of women. The Charter of the United Nations, signed in San Francisco in 1945, was the first international agreement to proclaim gender equality as a fundamental human right. Since then, the Organization has helped create a historic legacy of internationally agreed strategies, standards, programmes and goals to advance the status of women worldwide.

Over the years, United Nations action for the advancement of women has taken four clear directions: promotion of legal measures; mobilization of public opinion and international action; training and research, including the compilation of gender desegregated statistics; and direct assistance to disadvantaged groups. (一)志愿者风采展示：社区各志愿者团队通过舞蹈、小品、戏曲等形式展示志愿者风采，传播正能量。

(二)小记者感恩新闻墙：12月2日之前，社区“风信子小记者站”将对社区志愿者进行采访，了解他们的主要事迹，做成感恩新闻墙，感谢志愿者们的无私奉献，并在活动当日进行展示。

(三)志愿者表彰：根据一年来各志愿者参加志愿活动的表现，评选出优秀志愿者、优秀志愿者团队，并现场进行褒奖，颁发证书。

(四)志愿者现场招募：活动现场大力宣传志愿服务精神，并现场招募志愿者，壮大社区志愿者队伍。

(五)现场便民服务：现场将邀请社区维修人员、卫生志愿者、计生工作人员、社保工作人员等，为居民提供志愿服务，帮助居民解决实际生活问题。

hello, my professors.it’s a fine day today,and i’m very pleased to meet you here.first of all,i’d like to introduce myself to you.my name is ***,my hometown is ***,which is a really beautiful city.even when i was a young boy,i was very interested in biology science.every one may have a dream,and i still remember that my dream is to be a biology scientist (just like zhu ke zhen).i liked to make wonders just like,where are we from?where are we going in the universe?and then i would find the answers in book by myself.still today i think that interest is the best teacher in one’s whole life (and knowledge comes from practice).

second, i will introduce my major in the university.my major is biological engineering in *** university.it has a great relationship with biology scince.their relationship can be shown with an example: just like a river,biology science,which often finds new discoveries and theories, is at the head of the river.and my major,which lays more stress on practical use, seems to be at the end of it.when both of them interact well enough,the discovries and theories in biology science can be soon turned into products in all of the modern industry.

four years’ university education gives me a lot of things to learn,a lot of chances to try,and a lot of practices to improve myself.it teaches me not only what to study and how to think,but also to see the importance of practical ability (such as doing expriment as much as possible). in the university life,i have made many good friends.they help me improve my study and research ability, do ererything just like a man,and often give me good example to follow.

besides what i have introduced myself above,i also have many interests in my spare time.i like playing football,which is an effective way i think to improve my body health,and it can teach me how to join in a group and deal with other people.drawing and writing is another favor to me.

above all,i choose the major in order to broad my view in biology scince,and enhance my research ability.i will do my best to join the new group and be good at postgraduate study.

二月二日早上六点，小闹铃准点奏响了美妙的起床曲。

小伙伴们，你们猜：为什么寒假里我会起得这么早呢？

——因为今天我和爸爸妈妈要去太仓市汽车客运站参加志愿者服务活动！

洗漱完毕，快速吃完早餐后，爸爸马上开车带着我和妈妈到了太仓市汽车客运站。走进大厅，只见一个个穿红马甲的志愿者们已经开始工作了！我们也赶紧从志愿者活动组织人那里领取了红马甲。穿上红马甲，我感觉很自豪，我在心里默默地说道：我是一名小小志愿者了！

今天我被分配到的第一个任务是帮助过安检的旅客们搬运行李。别看我年龄小，个儿小，干起活来可是一点儿也不逊色哦！瞧，一位叔叔的行李箱过安检时马上要倒下来了，我眼疾手快地扶住了；一个老奶奶的行李多了些，来不及一次性从传送带上拿下来，我赶紧帮她拎起两个袋子；一个小孩子居然冲到了滚动的传送带上拿行李，我看到后立马制止了他的危险行为等等。没一会儿，我的手脚就开始暖和起来了，这种感觉真好。

后来，我又接到新任务——给旅客们送上茶水。我和两个小伙伴一起推着小推车，车上放着六个热水瓶，还有许多崭新的一次性杯子。我们稳稳地推着车子，穿梭在候车大厅里，给一位位旅客递上了一杯杯热水。每当听到耳边传来的一声声“谢谢”时，我的心里暖暖的。

一上午的时间很快流逝了，结束的时候我们全体志愿者一起合了影，纪念这次令人难忘的活动。回家的路上，我对爸妈说：“我以后还要参加志愿者活动，能够帮助他人我感到自豪与开心。”爸妈听后不约而同地微笑着说道：“冬宝真是一个好孩子！”

我是中国地质大学的一名大一学生，我名字叫xx，目前在人文经管学院管理科学与工程类专业学习。来到大学，我感觉一切都充满新鲜感，尤其是来到了首都，我充分感受到了那里浓郁的当志愿者的氛围，受其影响，我觉得志愿者活动是一件对己对人都很好的事情。

在我的家乡，虽然人们有一些对社会做贡献的意识，但是志愿者这样的活动并没有那么浓厚的氛围，因此自我也失去了许多参加社会活动的机会，看到电视上那些充满活力的志愿者们，我梦想着有一天这样的事情会发生到我的身上。如今，梦想照进现实，应对这样的一次志愿活动的机会，我不想错过。

在我看来，当一名志愿者并不是一种负担，在你选取他的时候，是出于自我的意愿并非他人强加，这就是一种担当，对自我的一次锻炼，是我们走向社会的第一步。透过志愿活动，我们了解了社会，增进了自我适应社会的潜力，有助于构成自我对这个社会的观点和看法，让自我能全方位的理解这个社会和自我的人生，引发自我对今后要走的很长的一段路的思考。对于社会，我们能够用自我的绵薄之力来推进这个社会的发展，用我们的奉献让世人明白，我们对于这个社会的价值不在于索取，而是透过奉献实现自我的价值。

以上就是我对于志愿者和志愿活动的一些看法，见解可能肤浅，但这都是我的真心话，期望我能有机会成为一名合格的志愿者。

My name is mingmingzhou , graduated from Computer Science Department of Wuhan University.During my four-year study in the university as an under-graduate student, I have built up a solid foundation of professional knowledge, as well as a rich experience of social activities. I am a determined person, always willing to achieve higher goals.

Whats more, I am good at analysis, with a strong sense of cooperation. All of these led me to the success of passing the first round of the entrance examination to the Masters degree. Personally, I am very humorous and easy-going, enjoying a good relationship among my classmates.

I am. I was born in. I graduate from senior high school and major in English. I started learning English since I was 12 years old. My parents have a lot of American friends. That’s why I have no problem communicating with Americans or others by speaking English.

In my spare time, I like to do anything relating to English such as listening to English songs, watching English movies or TV programs, or even attending the activities held by some English clubs or institutes. I used to go abroad for a short- term English study. During that time, I learned a lot of daily life English and saw a lot of different things.

I think language is very interesting. I could express one substance by using different sounds. So I wish I could study and read more English literatures and enlarge my knowledge.
