called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

1949年的10月1日，在北京天安门广场举行了一场盛大的开国大典，伟人们正式向全世界宣告：中华人民共和国成立。从此，每年的10月1日就是全国各族人民隆重欢庆的日子，简称“国庆节”。

这一天，美丽的丽江古城非常热闹，来自四面八方的游客人山人海，在有着悠久历史和灿烂文化的古城川流不息。丽江一年一度的菊花展览像以往一样在古城举行，又一次给这座有着九曲徘徊的街道和水系的世界文化遗产增添了无尽的万种风情。

刚走到古城口，阵阵的菊花清香便随风飘来，于是迫不及待的加快脚步，跑到大水车旁，映入眼帘的是一大片五彩缤纷的花海，五颜六色的鲜花朵朵，不约而同的，争奇斗艳，芬芳迷人，向人们展示着自己美丽的笑脸。红色，黄色，紫色，白色，粉红，绿色，还有彩色……形态各异，娇艳无比，争先恐后地竞相怒放，一朵朵，一枝枝，一簇簇艳丽的花朵集聚在碧绿的叶片下，犹如无数只彩色的蝴蝶，微微张开翅膀停在空中，随风飘摇。蜜蜂，蝴蝶这些小精灵就像是接到邀请似的，闻香而来，在花丛中飞来飞去，游人们也停下匆忙的脚步，醉在其中。

古城弯弯曲曲的小河，不知什么时候穿上了五彩霞衣。原来，是河的两边摆满了美艳的菊花，这些特别的菊花颜色各异，都骄傲的昂着头，拖着长长的尾巴，一倾而下，像一只只开屏的孔雀倒映在清澈见底的河水中，美不胜收。

最引人注目的要数那开门迎客的“双龙戏珠”，两条栩栩如生的花龙由无数芳香娇艳的金色菊花拼接而成，一颗硕大的明珠用红得似火的菊花镶嵌在正中，两条活灵活现双龙戏珠，花团锦簇，香气袭人。心灵手巧的园艺工人无所不能，巧夺天工，给这座古老的世界文化遗产穿上精致的百里花装，令人流连忘返。

I’m Li Hua, one of your students in China. It’s almost a month since you left us. We all miss you and are very grateful for what you did for us.

We are busy as usual. We had an English speech contest the other day. I won the first prize! This again reminds me of all your kind help. Do you still remember the trees we planted together on the hill behind the school? Yesterday, we went there and watered them. The tree you planted yourself is growing well, and the whole class decided to name it Sue Wood. Will you come back to see Sue Wood?
