traditional customs and festivals, especially the custom that people gather to

ancient architecture like Siheyuan and Hutong, people are still preserving them

well as the symbol of the whole nationalitys historical culture. As for

traditional food, people are still used to eating it. Even though the world has

into China, traditional food is still the mainstream. So, I think, although

those hi-tech products bring along unprecedented creature comfort, traditional

cultures will stay unchanged and they will develop further. And on the original

A new term began. Students all returned to school and met again. They were

talking about what they had done in the holidays. I was much happier. I couldnt

First of all, to confide to others is an efficient way for relieving

pressure. When we feel so anxious and worried that we cannot continue to work or

and feel better. Second, to do some exercises is another way to relieve

pressure. If we are under pressure for a long time, doing some exercises can

My winter vacation

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11 oclock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on playing till 2 oclock Am, and then go to sleep with tired. This is one dull day of my winter vacation.

But I havent bored all the time. Sometimes I read the books, sometime I listen to the music or the radio in the bed, because it was very cold outside and snowy all the day. And I also meat some of my good friends during the vacation, we have a very long talk about the life of each other in the past year and play table tennis tegether. The Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fireworks to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year, almost everyone is dressed in his or her best.
