I first read "Jane Eyre" in eighth grade and have read it every few years since.

It is one of my favorite novels, and so much more than a gothic romance to me, although thats how I probably would have defined it at age 13.

Jane Eyre, who is our narrator, was born into a poor family.

Her parents died when she was a small child and the little girl was sent to live with her Uncle and Aunt Reed at Gateshead.

Janes Uncle truly cared for her and showed his affection openly, but Mrs.

Reed seemed to hate the orphan, and neglected her while she pampered and spoiled her own children.

This unfair treatment emphasized Janes status as an unwanted outsider.

《傲慢与偏见》以女主角伊丽莎白与男主人公达西的相识、厌恶、相知直至后来两人的相爱为线索，展开了班纳特先生五位千金不同的爱情故事。虽故事的结局可说作完美。但直至尾页，我仍然记得扉页的一段话：“一个女人一直保持沉默或遮遮掩掩的话，让对方不能明白自己的心思，那她就难以博得欢心，为此而丧失机会，到时候只有暗自落泪的份了。男女相爱大都免不了要借重于双方的感恩图报和虚荣自负，任其自然的很难成好事的。”

显然，扉页的话并不是对小说结局的隐匿暗示。它或许是作者简·奥斯汀对那个时代女性的呼唤。但无论如何，它依然完美的诠释了故事的曲折过程，伊丽莎白与达西都各自因为自己的原因或因为犹豫不决，让爱情的结局一推再推。也许书中可以给他们最后的幸福甜蜜，但在现实中，他们又是否真的可以如此巧合的找到他们的爱情，这却无从得知。

在青葱的校园生活中，傲慢与偏见的恶果也长在我们的单纯心田中，它们霸占着本应属于我们的正直与善良。现如今的我们，谈不起爱情，而友情却属于这里的每一个人。这里随处可见结伴而行的女生，嘻笑着走过林荫小道，处处可见勾搭着肩膀的男生，拍打着篮球在操场上留下爽朗的笑容。友情的味道弥漫了整个校园，让美丽的校园拂动着一片和谐与安宁的气息。但即使在这样的气氛中，仍有看不见的“脏物”在黑暗中滋生。傲慢使我们的友情破碎，偏见让我们之间的信任荡然无存。记得伊丽莎白在文中质问过：“一场爱情就这样结束了?我不知道，多少有情人是这样走过来。”而此时我只能无力地思考着：“难道友情也难逃乎于这种命运?我不知道，多少知己是这样走过来。”

其实不必说有多少个知己，有的人一生都不一定会遇见一个知己，找到一个可以敞开心扉无所顾忌的人已是不易。真的要因为我们的傲慢或流言飞语中产生的偏见去摧毁这一切?难道不能直接表达却要含蓄暗示才能尽释前嫌，但却因放不下的虚荣而错失到最后才懊悔不已。这些或许都会成为人一生中无法回首的遗憾。

在书的尾页，有我初中时留下的稚嫩笔迹：“珍惜和善待身边每一个平凡的人和平凡的自己。”

可惜当初写下这句话的我，现在却不记得，甚至迷失了自己的本心。所幸写下这篇文章的我已然成长，不会再让生活的美好错失在时光的流转中。

老人圣地亚哥是一位老渔民，老人与海就讲述了他在连续八十四天都没有捕到一条鱼的情况下，终于独自一人钓上了一条大马林鱼，但这条鱼庞大的像一座山丘，所以将老渔民圣地亚哥的小渔船整整拖了几天几夜叉筋疲力尽，被老人杀死绑在了小船的一头。老人返航的时候却遇到了鲨鱼，他应用的抵抗鲨鱼的攻击。可最后回到港湾的时候，大鱼只剩下鱼头、鱼尾和一条脊骨。

这篇小说描写了老人在中亚紫霞仍保持着优雅的风度。作者这样写突出了老人威严冷静的性格特点，就像我们小学五年级的一篇课文《桥》中的老支书一样。面对鲨鱼的攻击，老人并没有吓呆了，而是沉着的应对鲨鱼疯狂的攻击才保住了自己的性命。如果老人并没有沉着的应对鲨鱼的攻击，那老人将会一无所有（宝货老人的生命）这篇小说主要告诉我名字一个人应用有的最宝贵的精神—人可以被毁灭，却不可以被打败。圣地亚哥也因此而成为了文学史上最着名的“硬汉”之一
