Important to save water

Water is a kind of liquid. It has no taste or smell. It is transparent, too. Water is useful and is important to us. Why? For example, we use water to water the plants. We use water to wash our face or to have a bath. We drink water or we will die…Water is also very important for China. There are still a few people who are not protecting the water now in the world. For example, some factories pour waste things into the rivers, lakes or into the sea near by. The water there has become very dirty and we can’t use them at all. Although there are seventy–five per sent of water in the world, we can only use fresh water, that there is only a little. So we should use little water when we need to use it. For example, I do not use too much water when I am washing my face or having a bath… It is important for us to keep the water clean. Last Qingming Festival,i return home to worship my grandfather.Qingming

Festival is a folk Festival.In the past,the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor

Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush

that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set

out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a familys home

altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory

is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing

food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the

honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the

spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and

spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good

harvests and more children.

When asked about their opinion of career and family, people always respond differently. Some people deem it more important to pursue their career, while there are always other people who argue that family should be the number one in one’s life.

It goes without any question that career plays a key role in our life. In the very first place, career can give us an aim to live on. Without career, much of our living time will be certainly wasted. What’s more, career can provide us with a means to live on. Most of the people earn their income from a job. The tomb sweeping day is one of the traditional festivals in China. On

April 5th, people start to visit their ancestors’ tombs. Generally speaking,

people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to

their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up

some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs. The most important

thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known

as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a

symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the

forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money

to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring

will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their

wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come

true.

In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate

this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making

special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan,

but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make

it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating

ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly.

Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to

commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look

into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor

rest in peace.

Before I was five years old, I did not like to eat fruit. I only like meat.

My mother tried to figure out many ways to let me to eat fruit and gain the

of the generation gap, each family should use the following three methods:

First of all, it is important that family members discuss openly about

their pleasures or sadness in childhood in family gatherings. This activity does

not only create a close relationship but also help build up understanding among

all members. For instance, once children are aware that their grandparents and

even their parents did not have a good upbringing during their hard childhood,

they will stop complaining about the previous generations’ obsoleteness. In the

meantime, once old people realize young people are nurtured in a new modern way,

it is easy for them to be tolerant of young people’s new habits or hobbies.

Secondly, people of each generation should not develop a very high feeling

about themselves. In order to do that, they should not think that they are the

only right people in their family because each person has his or her own

limitations. Teenagers would realize that their parents have to struggle with

pain to support them financially, and they would stop rebelling their

strictness. Parents would realize that their children’s new style does no harm

to their studies and stop imposing their own unsuitable standards on their

children.

Finally, the generation gap and its bad effects can be limited if all

members cooperate to build up a close-knit family relationship and a harmonious

atmosphere in which they are open and tolerant of each other. I strongly believe

that each family, by doing that, can enjoy a cozy atmosphere with minimum

interference by the generation gap.
