The first three years of his life were spent in surgery, casts and braces. By the time he was eight, you wouldnt know he had a problem when you saw him walk .

The children in our neighborhood ran around as most children do during play, and Joey would jump right in and run and play, too. We never told him that he probably wouldnt be able to run as well as the other children. So he didnt know.

In seventh grade he decided to go out for the cross—country team. Every day he trained with the team. He worked harder and ran more than any of the others — perhaps he sensed that the abilities that seemed to come naturally to so many others did not come naturally to him. Although the entire team runs, only the top seven runners have the potential to score points for the school. We didnt tell him he probably would never make the team, so he didnt know.

He continued to run four to five miles a day, every day — even the day he had a 103—degree fever. I was worried, so I went to look for him after school. I found him running all alone. I asked him how he felt. "Okay," he said. He had two more miles to go. The sweat ran down his face and his eyes were glassy from his fever. Yet he looked straight ahead and kept running. We never told him he couldnt run four miles with a 103—degree fever. So he didnt know.

Two weeks later, the names of the team runners were called. Joey was number six on the list. Joey had made the team. He was in seventh grade — the other six team members were all eighth—graders. We never told him he shouldnt expect to make the team. We never told him he couldnt do it. We never told him he couldnt do it...so he didnt know. He just did it.

接下来的节目是皇帝的新装、狼来了和拔萝卜，各班的表演都很精彩，让我觉得心里不踏实起来，怕自己表演不好。

终于轮到我们上场了，我的心怦怦直跳怕我们班会输给其他的班级。当音乐一响起来，我们每个人都很快进了状态。我那颗怦怦直跳的心也平静了下来。大家各自表演者自己的角色，十分认真。突然电脑出问题了，把我们出场的顺序都打乱了，弄得我们几个团团转转都不知道怎么去表演了。这是老师在后面打着手势让我们跟着幻灯片来表演，我们手忙脚乱的的样子把评委都逗笑了。最后我们的成绩只有76.365分。

虽然这次我们没有取得好的成绩，但是我们却收获了快乐。

今天，我去参加贾伊宁的生日会了，这次参加的人有：侯越琳、俞书言、李宜晴、何子旋(另外一个2年级的小妹妹)黄锦余。

我们过了马路，到肯德基去。在里面，很凉爽，也很吵闹。一开始，我们觉得很无聊，就到旁边的游乐场地玩了。那里有滑滑梯、控制台、望远镜、暗仓。可那游乐场地非常小，站在边缘的人要非常小心，一不留神，就有可能摔下去。后来，我们找了很多的吸管，把它们接在一起，就像金箍棒一样，可惜不是金子做的。我们拿那些吸管去打那些男生，保护我们的基地。正当我们玩得起劲时，有东西吃了。这次给我们准备的食物有深海鳕鱼堡、冰橙汁、深海鳕鱼条、鸡翅。别看才这么4种，可把我们给撑死了。但我觉得那鳕鱼条里面的肉很好吃，又嫩、又多汁。当我把冰橙汁里的冰块掏出来吃的时候，一嚼，“哇”真冰爽!那冰块脆脆的，流出来的水是多么冰凉呀!千万不要看吃的时候那么美味，等吃好了，鸡皮疙瘩都起来了，牙齿还打寒颤。

现在来玩“一只青蛙跳下水”每一个人说一个字，说错了就要带上一个用吸管做成的三角形，放在耳朵上，最后，看谁没有带上三角形，就有奖励。游戏一开始，大家都很小心翼翼的，深怕说错了。到后面，我、侯越琳、俞书言、李宜晴、何子旋、黄锦余耳朵上都带了三角形，就只有贾伊宁没有带上，所以奖励了一个吸管，这吸管可不时普普通通的那种，是一种我从来都没有见过的，当你把饮料吸上来的时候，在中间，就有一个小转轮，当你把饮料经过那里的时候，中间就会转起来。

最后来吃蛋糕，那蛋糕是巧克力蛋糕，上面有浅棕色的花，在最大的花前面，有一个薄薄的、甜甜的用巧克力做的小巧克力，上面写了：生日快乐。当我吃的时候，都差点给甜腻了，那里有巧克力、冰激凌、甜甜的干奶酪，等我一吃完，马上把剩下的橙汁一饮而尽，啊!真是爽，我还是第一次吃的这么饱。后来，我们每人都得到了一个加菲猫，有打饱嗝的和一个钥匙圈。我得到的是打饱嗝的加菲猫，只要一按它中间的硬硬的东西，它立刻打嗝，而且还很像，就和模拟的差不多。而钥匙圈的，同样是加菲猫，但在加菲猫的肚子旁边，有一个小洞，可以随便地把一个钥匙圈拿出来，藏进去。

我今天真是太饱了，但我要感谢我的加菲猫，因为是它帮我打完了隔，不会让我撑炸了肚子。

Today is my grandmother’s birthday. She is eighty years old now. My families held a big celebration for her. Many relatives come to my home, so my grandmother is very happy. She misses them very much. We ate the big dinner at 5 o’clock. My parents prepare the dinner for the whole day. At about 9 o’clock, we ate the birthday cake. When it was time to leave school I couldnt wait to go home. When I open the door, there wasnt anybody in the house. There was only a note that said, "Coming home late tonight,mum and dad. "I try to call them but there was no answer.I was so shocked,do they forget my birthday?How could this be! I was so sad that I couldnt eat anything. I just did my homework and waited for them.

And then,things changed completely. It was about time for dinner, my mother called and told me to go to the restanrant near our house. When I got there I couldnt believed my eyes. Everybody was there:my parents,my relatives, my friends and even my classmates. There was so many gifts and a big cake. What a surprising birthday party! We had a good time and it was the best birthday party ever.
