汽车尾气排放是大气污染的主要来源。许多汽车尾气排放不符国家标准，严重污染大气。使得臭氧层的空洞日趋增大，人们不得不采取“补天”行动，耗费大量人力物力。

国家乃至世界对环境保护都非常重视。国家评选“创建国家卫生城市”，使得国内各大城市都积极保护环境。建德市曾开展“清洁乡村大行动”。从市下达到镇，再到学校。号召千万学子带动家人清洁家园。到村委，号召村民清洁村落，收效明显。各个城镇，清洁不停，连市委市镇府，镇委镇政府领导都亲自投身到清洁现场，清理卫生死角。
