1972年6月5日-16日，“联合国人类环境会议”在瑞典的斯德哥尔摩召开，这是人类历史上第一次在全世界范围内召开的保护人类环境的会议，具有里程碑式的意义，是人类环境保护行动史上划时代的事件。会上，各国与会代表建议联合国大会将“联合国人类环境会议”开幕日——“6月5日”定为“世界环境日”。同年10月，第27届联合国大会接受并通过了这项建议。

空气是所有生物赖以生存的保证。如果空气被污染了，所有生物将会生活在“毒气室”一样的环境里，疾病和各种灾难将会是人类最大的敌人。日久天长，人类就会灭亡。可见，洁净的空气是多么重要啊!

垃圾在生活中随处可见，可见人类的坏习惯——乱丢垃圾的行为实在太严重了。随意堆放的垃圾会对环境造成很大的危害，例如：滋生病菌、传播疾病、污染空气以及河流等等。

这些污染真是可怕呀!要预防这些污染，我们一定要爱护环境，保护地球，制止一切污染环境的行为。
