I soon joined a rowdy bunch of children and teenagers who were building a bonfire in the middle of a path that ran through the wheat fields. “Here,”said my friend, handing me a long bamboo pole. “Put some of your straw in the fire. For several hours into the night I helped build fires and keep an eye on the younger children. Occasionally I, too, lit a torch and ran around like a mad man, screaming and waving a flaming bamboo pole.

This festival, which occurred six days before Chinese New Year, was just one of the experiences during the visit to my friends over the Spring Festival. 或许一些人等不及了，还没到九点钟就开始放礼花，响声震耳欲聋。我们才不管呢，拿着手花在小区里乱舞，一个接一个，成了小区里一道靓丽的风景。我们大家蹦呀、跳呀，玩得可开心了。李想还做了一件大坏事，那就是拿着手花吓唬我，我怕惹火烧身，急忙连连后退。可还是被石头一绊，全身弄得脏兮兮的，真是气死我了，她们却还笑翻了天，真是可恶！后来，我和李想捡来两根空礼花棒，变着戏法玩起来。李想突发奇想，向我提了一个建议：“我俩来‘开战’，用礼花棒作武器，但不能伤人……。”李想一说完，我俩便开始了“世纪之战”，我一棒打过去，李想一挡，我的棒子变成了双截棍。李想趁我不注意，灵机一动，从我后面打了我一下，然后跑到我前面，趁我往后面看时，又打了我一下，我立刻回击，打到了李想的头，我俩玩得兴起，忽视了姐姐，她气得跑上楼去。

On the second and the third days, we spent a wonderful weekend in the country. There were much bigger trees than in the city. And the animals were more beautiful than in the city. We all enjoyed ourselves.

不同的地方有不同的生活特色，广州的春节颇有一番独特的风俗。

在我的记忆中，广州的春节是在腊月的初旬就开始了。这段时间，大家都会准备好年货。因此，大街上，商店里，都是一派人山人海的景象。同时，家家户户都会熬制腊八饭。在广州，腊八饭也叫作糯米饭。糯米饭的制作方法是比较简单的，先要准备好洗过的糯米。同时，将各种配料放入锅中爆炒至香。糯米饭的配料也是五花八门的：有冬菇、鸡蛋、鱿鱼、腊肉、葱......之后把糯米放入瓦锅。在饭差不多焖好时，将喷香的配料放在饭的表面。大概等半个小时，待饭色泽呈金黄色后便可以慢慢享用。光闻香味就忍不住吃一口。

年初一到了!新的一年又开始了!在过年期间，大家互相拜年，互相走访，直到正月十五结束。

元宵上市了，春节的又一个高潮到了。在这一天，家家店铺张灯结彩，迎接这隆重而热闹的节日。一家人也其乐融融地聚在一起吃汤圆，晚上去广场看花灯。

不知不觉，春节结束了。学生们上学，大人们上班。春节在人们的欢声笑语中闪过了，人们又开始了新一年的忙碌.......
