People with disabilities depend on their dogs. They want the animals to safely guide themthrough security areas. They also need to the dogs to remain calmly on duty on the airplane,even when the flying is not smooth. This takes special training. The Air Hollywood K9 FlightSchool is one place where such help can be found.

The school has a piece of equipment that provides the sights, sounds and even the feel of anairplane in flight. It is called a flight simulator. The simulator was built for filming airplanescenes in movies.

Dog trainer Mary Segall is with Canine Companions for Independence. It provides dogs forpeople with disabilities. Ms. Segall says successful training is based on a simple rule:preparation.

"Dogs need to be exposed gradually and repetitively to stimulation, to the environment, toloud noises, to sounds and other dogs so that when this experience happens to them on adaily basis, theyre able to act in a way that theyre used to acting and that they dont getexcitable."

Stacy Huckebas nine-month-old dog, Striker, is still in training to be a guide dog.

"I dont fly a lot so I dont know a lot, but, so I dont know the routine myself. So with a dog Iwould have been lost."

first, mankinds need for land is constantly growing. if the demand is not checked in some way, humans will eventually develop all of the earths available land. at that time, mankind will have no more room to grow, and all the wild animals will have disappeared, as well as other valuable resources. second, humans are able to innovate and can use the land that they already possess in more efficient ways. animals are unable to do this. once their land is taken away from them they will die. third and last, endangered animals are an important part of the biodiversity of our planet. if they disappear, we cannot predict what the effect will be. therefore, we should treat such animals as a valuable resource to be protected.

to sum up, the worlds endangered animals are an important resource and we should protect them by setting aside some land for them. although mankinds need for land continues to grow, people are intelligent and inventive enough to put the land they have to better use. in this way, we can have enough land for farming, housing and industry, and preserve the biodiversity of the planet at the same time.

动物是人类的好朋友，所以，我最喜欢养小动物。从小到大，家里养过很多的小动物，有乖巧可爱的小白兔，有精力旺盛的小仓鼠，有美丽优雅的小金鱼，还有慢吞吞的小乌龟，嘎嘎叫的小鸭子……是不是像个动物园?不过我最喜欢的还是我家的小狗转转。

转转是一只可爱的吉娃娃，它长得非常瘦小，在它那小小的脸蛋上，镶嵌着一双大大的眼睛，就好像二颗大钻石，二只大耳朵加起来差不多就有它的脸那么大，它每次一看到我，那条小尾巴就不停地转，所以我给它取名叫转转。

每天，我总是要带着转转出去玩一会儿，记得有一天，天气很冷，我带着小转转去外面跑步暖身子，我边跑边对它说:“小不点，我们去比赛跑步，怎么样?”还没等我反应过来，转转就像离弦的箭一样冲到前面去了，我边跑边喊;“转转，你真是个小赖皮，快停下来，等我一起跑!”刚说完，我就远远地看到转转停下了脚步，“到底是我养的狗，还真听话。”我得意地想，可等我气喘吁吁地跑上前一看，原来它看到了一根肉骨头，正津津有味地吃着呢!“好啊，臭转转，跑得这么快，原来是看到好吃的了，不许吃了，我们继续比赛!”说完，我就使出了吃奶的劲，拼命往前冲，转转见我跑了，赶紧叼起肉骨头来追我，不一会儿就追上了我，把我远远地甩在了后面，还回过头来，对着我摇头晃尾的，好像在说:“小主人，你跑不过我吧!”等我实在没力气跑了，它又吃起了心爱的肉骨头。

还有一次，我突然听到转转在外面“汪汪”地直叫，于是，我赶紧跑出去看个究竟。原来是邻居家的小孩子正在用水浇在转转身上，想给它洗澡，可是转转不想洗，东逃西窜，它一见到我，就汪汪地直叫，好像在说:“主人，快救我!”我心疼极了，生气地说:“你为什么要欺侮我家转转?”谁知那个小男孩却不依不饶地说:“这是我家的狗，你管得着吗?”什么?这明明是我家的转转，怎么成了你家的狗了呢?于是我叫了一声:“转转，过来!”转转一下子就跑到我的身边来了。可那个小男孩叫了几遍转转也不过去。

“哼!我要把你捉住。”小男孩气呼呼地说。可转转却不慌不忙地跑开了。过了一会儿，它把小男孩家的狗领了过来，对着小男孩“汪汪”地叫，好像在说，这才是你家的狗呢!我不禁哈哈大笑!

你说，这么一只活泼可爱，古灵精怪的小家伙，我能不喜欢它吗?我喜欢我的小狗，它给我带来了无穷的乐趣!

My lovely dog

Dog is my favourite animal.I have a lovely dog. Its name is Bobby. I like it very much. My father bougut it last month. It has two big eyes and a long tongue. Its fur is white. Bobby is so cute and naughty.It jumps, walks and guards our house. We all like Bobby in my family. We usually say it is also one of our family members.

If you come to my home, you can see a white dog shaking its short tail to welcome you . Undoubtedly, its Bobby, my lovely dog!

我家小狗叫“皮蛋”，是一条纯种的“极娃娃”狗。

它刚来我家时，大约有13厘米长的样子，背上有一个它自己的图案——狗。最好玩的就是他咬尾巴的时候了!因为它的尾巴经常发痒，所以就想去咬。每回咬时，它就不停地后退打转，直到趴下为止。我想：这么小的一条狗，一定不会想到它转，屁股也要转吧!

还有一次，妈妈去洗澡，我在拉小提琴，我一时没注意它，它就把茶几底下的书弄得天翻地覆。等妈妈洗完澡，发现了，可生气啦!对着“皮蛋”又说又骂，“皮蛋”不服气，对着妈妈“汪汪”直叫。当时我大发雷霆，拿着本儿书，到处打它。被打痛了的它再也不敢叫了。
