What is music, no one can explain.

I do not like teamwork in most time. Because I think it is hard for the

whole team to hold the same view. It is a waste of time to argue with each other

My son Joey was born with club feet. The doctors assured us that with treatment he would be able to walk normally — but would never run very well. The first three years of his life were spent in surgery, casts and braces. By the time he was eight, you wouldnt know he had a problem when you saw him walk .

The children in our neighborhood ran around as most children do during play, and Joey would jump right in and run and play, too. We never told him that he probably wouldnt be able to run as well as the other children. So he didnt know.

In seventh grade he decided to go out for the cross—country team. Every day he trained with the team. He worked harder and ran more than any of the others — perhaps he sensed that the abilities that seemed to come naturally to so many others did not come naturally to him. Although the entire team runs, only the top seven runners have the potential to score points for the school. We didnt tell him he probably would never make the team, so he didnt know.

He continued to run four to five miles a day, every day — even the day he had a 103—degree fever. I was worried, so I went to look for him after school. I found him running all alone. I asked him how he felt. "Okay," he said. He had two more miles to go. The sweat ran down his face and his eyes were glassy from his fever. Yet he looked straight ahead and kept running. 其实，我们的英语虽然上课严肃，但是也不乏幽默的时候，记得在一次课堂上，我们在议论把课程表放到哪里？突然唐老师笑眯眯的对我们说：你们怎么不贴在你们的脑门上呢？正在大家大笑的时候，刚刚还满脸笑容的他一眨眼的工夫又变成了那张冷漠的扑克脸，哎！他的心思和表情就像那神秘莫测的宇宙让人揣摩不透！

我们的英语老师虽然已经上了年纪，但是你可不要小看他噢！他的嗓门可大着呢，精神可抖擞着呢！要是碰到我们在课堂上开小差或者吵闹，他就会拿出他这些特有的本领来对付我们，不用说战败的一方肯定是我们！

My Birthday

My birthday is on##.My parents and friends celebrate it to me every year.On that day,we usually hold a small birthday party at home and invite my friends to come for a dinner.We chat,watch TV or play games together that we really enjoy ourselves.When we are playing,my parents prepare a delicious dinner.My friends and I like the dishes very much.Of course,I can get some gifts from parents and friends.I am very happy because they always know what I want and need.But,on the other hand,when the birthday comes, I am a year older,so that I must be more sensible and independent.Last but not the least, it’s also a time to show my appreciation to my parents.They work hard and do their best to bring me up.

我们喜欢英语老师不凶的样子。有一次，老师在上课时把N看成了V，我们异口同声地叫起来：“老师，这不是N吗？”老师一脸惊讶地说：“没有啊，这是V啊！”看着一脸懵逼的老师，我们坚定地要求：“老师，您再看看。”老师回头看了黑板一眼，红着脸挤出一个笑容：“哦，对，是我看错了。”突然，有一个调皮蛋故意开起了玩笑：“老师，您近视几度啊？”老师难得被逗笑了，她咧开嘴露出雪白的牙齿，眼睛黑亮亮的，脸上没有一丝皱纹。这一刻，我发现老师居然这么好看！

Christmas Day

圣诞节

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December. It is a very happy day for many boys and girls. Before the term ends in some schools, the children act a nativity or “birth” play, showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

12月25日是圣诞节。对许多男孩和女孩来说，这天是个非常开心的日子。在某些学校，学期结束前，孩子们会表演有关（耶稣）诞生或出生的戏剧，用来（向大家）展示耶稣是如何在马厩里出生的。

On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.

On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two oclock, and most of them are awake by six oclock, and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one oclock in the afternoon, the Christmas dinner is brought in. The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten. Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it. The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas holidays comes to an end.

One sunny afternoon, when I was merrily riding home, I heard "Help! Help!".

One of my favourite teachers is Mr.Qiu.He is very strict with us.But I think he is so kind.

I always ask him the answers to the questions when I have some difficult questions.And he always talks to me carefully.So I am very good at English.And I think I cant do it well without his help.

Mr.Qiu has a shortcoming.He likes smoking so much.He said that he wants to smoke when he fells bored.And I often tell him it is bad for his health to smoke.But he never listen to me .

我的初中英语老师身材瘦小，一头卷发，头发上总是喜欢戴发夹。夏天，她喜欢穿休闲裙，下面往往搭配一双阿迪达斯的板鞋。

我的初中英语老师很严格。每当早读时，她一走进教室，我们便知道今天要听写英语单词了。我们拿本子的速度很慢，她就会说：“快点嘛！真的是，叫你们不把自己的听写本放好。”单词听写完后，我们总是要讨论自己听写得如何。这时她就会说：“你们能不能安静一点，再不安静的人，我就扣操行分了！”但是每次说完话后，总是会有同学还要说话，只不过把音量调小了很多。可是老师的耳朵尖，每次都能听见，便生气地说：“A和B，我用语言告诉你们不要说话，你们偏不听，你们是不是需要我付出行动？”A和B同学就使劲摇头，老师看见后会说“你们话多，上课时就多回答问题吧！”上课时，每当有同学太活泼，老师就会十分严厉地说：“XXX同学禁言十分钟！”

我的初中英语老师很幽默。记得有一次，老师教我们读“沙滩”的英语单词，老师教的很认真，说：“记住，要读长音。”我当时并没有搞懂长音和短音的区别，老师请我起来朗读时，班上许多同学都在笑，我十分茫然。老师说：“你读错了。”还告诉我，如果读成了短音，就变成了另外一个单词——“母狗。”如果说“我要去沙滩”人家外国人就会听成“我要去母狗”！听到这里，我的脸刷一下就变红了。从此以后，我明白了短音和长音区别很大，英语发音很重要。
